I am so confused now. What message is he giving? We're in Lockdown and he's having a costa. I had a close look at the picture and it doesn't look like one of those fill them up at home cups. I'm moving planets.

@ThisHereMamaBear
Lighten up. Our small village shop has a Costa stand. Was in early this morning getting a few bits and a paper for DH.
Bought myself a takeaway coffee dropped my shopping at home and took our dog out for a walk in the woods with my coffee. It was bliss lovely morning nice walk having my coffee.
Thankfully I wasn’t stopped as Prime Minister was nor caught on camera for Rome random MN’r to blast me for it.

bethg21 · 09/05/2020 21:51

I think you need to go and get yourself a nice Costa coffee and chill the f out !

Peggysgettingcrazy · 09/05/2020 21:52

He wasn’t doing his daily exercise for goodness sake! It was St James Park - he was there to be seen. Why are people so naive?

Yes, he needs to be seen. Being seen while doing his daily exercise, is still his daily exercise.

Only the left would go hyperbole on this

Not all of us.

Badassmama · 09/05/2020 21:57

Hey OP. I fully agree with you, having a Costa is disgraceful, he should be getting his takeaway coffee from an independent coffee stand that is struggling to keep afloat and keep paying the mortgage at home.

Badassmama · 09/05/2020 21:58

Grin.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 09/05/2020 21:58

Only the left would go hyperbole on this

I vote Labour so I suppose that makes me "left" and I'm not being hyperbolic over it.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 09/05/2020 22:02

And led people to believe that doing the conga was ok so long as they were 2m behind each other?

To be fair, you'd have to be an utter fuckwit to think doing the bloody Conga was OK Grin
I've always wondered why instructions on stuff seem so bleedin obvious - such as packet of peanuts - contains nuts.
It's becoming painfully obvious why, as some people are beyond help lol.

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 09/05/2020 22:03

I'm pretty left and I think this is ridiculous! Pictured doing permissible things looking flippant and jolly. Hang him! Grin

ThisHereMamaBear · 09/05/2020 22:06

Why wasn't he photographed 2 months ago with coffee in hand walking through a park? Because he was telling us to stay home and save lives. He wouldn't have wanted a picture of him like this. He would have known he would be photographed doing this. So why now? And please don't say he's just a guy having a coffee!

@Snowjive2

It’s a virus that eats your chest.

Well I've had it and my chest is very much still in evidence, ta.

Of course Boris shouldn't be nonchalantly wandering through a park, flippant coffee in hand. Like the rest of us, he should be spending any down time in silent contemplation with nothing but water and gruel for sustenance. (For the avoidance of doubt, that's sarcasm.)

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 09/05/2020 22:08

@BirdieFriendReturns
I was told I couldn’t go to the shop to buy sanitary towels last month and to rip up on a old sheet instead

WTF?! Grin
I realllly, realllly hope there was a tongue inc cheek sarcasm thing lost in translation there, as that's ridiculous lol

changeofheart1234567 · 09/05/2020 22:08

Good gracious, if this is what we have come to - judging every coffee drunk, every step taken, every item purchased scrutinised for its essential features - then I’d rather lift all restrictions and take a risk on COVID. This is no life, this is purgatory, made a million times worse by everyone judging the fuck out of everyone else.

I am no Tory voter but the PM can’t have a takeaway coffee now? Really? Bloody hell, take a look at yourselves.

Willow2017 · 09/05/2020 22:10

I thought aibu was a platform to ask questions like this?
Why would anyone need to ask anything about someone doing something thats been perfectly ok since day 1 of lockdown?

Baaaahhhhh · 09/05/2020 22:11

Man buys coffe on way to office.

eddiemairswife · 09/05/2020 22:12

I don't understand why people can 't wait until they get to their destination before getting a cup of coffee. It is as if having a cup of coffee in ones hand is an essential piece of clothing like shoes or trousers.

Drivingdownthe101 · 09/05/2020 22:13

I imagine people can wait, but they don’t want to. They fancy a coffee while walking. Not the crime of the century.

ThisHereMamaBear · 09/05/2020 22:14

@Willow2017 why does anyone ask anything on here then?

OP posts:
Mulhollandmagoo · 09/05/2020 22:14

@changeofheart1234567 couldn't have put it better myself 🙌

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 09/05/2020 22:15

OP nobody has ever said you can't walk through a park with a coffee! Give up!

Willow2017 · 09/05/2020 22:16

Snowjive2
Why is it confusing?
Walking is fine.
Coffee is fine.
What is there to be confused about?

Kortnee · 09/05/2020 22:17

Man buys coffe on way to office

The end is nigh

eaglejulesk · 09/05/2020 22:18

Have you got nothing better to do OP? This is such a non-issue, and it's laughable that you are so cross about your PM doing something he is allowed to do.

Willow2017 · 09/05/2020 22:18

ThisHereMamaBear
Usually because they have a problem and need advice or dont know something.
Neither of which should apply to someone drinking coffee!
