I have just finished a book "Very Stable Genius" by two reporters from the Washington Post, who have been covering Donald Trump's presidency. The picture that emerges from that book (and other things I have read) is of man of no redeeming characteristics. He is bad tempered, narcissistic, revels in his ignorance, is petty, and a bully to boot.

People who work with him (even those who share a conservative world view) seem to not be able to stand him because of his character as a human being.

AIBU to not see any redeeming characteristics in him? Are there any?

Well, Trump and Pence have seen fit to criticize our Prime Ministers, Mayors, healthcare providers and whoever else. But we have to meekly sit quietly? Not a chance.

Trump picked Mike Pence to be his VP in order to appease the GOP leadership. It did turn out to be quite a stroke of genius as it secured the bible belt.

For a great many Americans, the fact that he's the Republican candidate is the only redeeming characteristic they need to vote for Trump.

Because he is disrupting global institutions of cooperation in place to mitigate the risk of war and various modes of death and disaster?

Because he highlights that America is on the decline, doesn't have the moral high ground on anything, and that other countries should be seeking to strengthen their alliances and coalitions elsewhere where possible

Ogopogo please give me examples of Trumps homophobia? Pence is a Christian, many Americans are. Religions generally do not agree with homosexuality. Their views may be wrong in many people's opinion but in a free society they have the right to their religious views.

And I suppose you're just as accepting of sexism founded in religion, yeah?

Who said I accepted anything? I believe that in a free society people have the right to their views, whether or not I think that it is abhorrent or not and that should be protected. This pseudo 1984 wrong think "let's burn them all at the stake" unreality that currently exists is bullshit.

Trumps no better or worse than Obama, or Clinton. He sexually assaulted a young woman during his presidency and people still love him.
If I lived in the States I would vote for him. And a lot of people will. And he will win the election.
