To feel like the only woman left who doesn't shave her pubes? 😂

During a group WhatsApp with friends last night, conversation (somehow!) turned to pubes. It would seem I am the only one who doesn't shave the whole lot off. I've done it a couple of times in the past but it itched when growing back and I actually feel sexier with a bit of a muff! Does anyone else not shave these days or am I a vile ogre?

No shaving here; just trimming and tidying and plucking the bikini line.

Plus, no hair down there looks too childlike to me.

Ingrown hairs are awful, so another reason i'm just not interested in taking off more than I already do for bikini line.

To those who trim - can I ask what you use please? Scissors? Shaver-type device of some kind? I like the idea of trimming hair shorter (usually go for waxes but that's out at the moment) - just no idea how to do it neatly. Thanks.

StarlightLady · 05/05/2020 14:31

I started whipping the lot off when l was about 17. 40s now. For me, it feels tidier and it increases sensitivity.

I don’t want hairy armpits so why should l want a hairy crotch?

Lweji · 05/05/2020 14:32

I only do the sides for the beach.

Tried it all once. Never again.

Rebelwithallthecause · 05/05/2020 14:32

I hate the nude feeling so having removed my hair there since my teens

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 05/05/2020 14:34

No, its stubbly and itchy and horrible. I hate it. Much prefer to leave it alone.

tawnygrisettes · 05/05/2020 14:35

I don't even shave my legs

bridgetreilly · 05/05/2020 14:37

I have hairy armpits. And, more often than not, hairy legs.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 05/05/2020 14:38

Never shaved it all off.
Have shaved up the sides a bit but regrowth was problematic, so stopped that.
Trimmed it regularly but now I'm older it doesn't seem to need it as much.

DH, when we were still just going out, once shaved his balls "for me". No idea why he thought that would be a good idea, except that he then suggested I might "return the favour" (no chance!).

He suffered A Lot with the regrowth, itchy, stubble rash and generally uncomfortable and has never done it since.

bridgetreilly · 05/05/2020 14:39

Obviously women are entitled to do whatever they like with their hair but that doesn’t mean anyone else can’t give an opinion.

Especially on a thread asking our opinion...

Obviously I don't go round in real life asking to see people's pubic area so I can tell them whether or not I like how it looks. ;)

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 05/05/2020 14:40

Ah - just seen the question about trimming - I used nail scissors.

Also the point about hairy armpits relating to hairy crotches - incomparable unless you spend all summer with your crotch on display!

MaxNormal · 05/05/2020 14:40

I'm fair haired so can probably get away with it... Probably?!?!

What's to get away with? It's your fud, you really can do what you like with it.
I've tried shaving/waxing it bald a couple of times, it wasn't me. I prefer the look of pubes and I've read enough ton convince me that it's better for hygiene and serves as some protection against infection.

LightenUpSummer · 05/05/2020 14:40

Feeling better now OP? Hmm

Leflic · 05/05/2020 14:41

Well, what purpose do tattoos serve? Piercings? Dying one’s hair? Styling hair a particular way? Wearing nice clothes? All done because the person chooses to do them, they like the ‘look’. Would you call them all pathetic?

Some of those yes. And they are all subjective including wearing “nice” clothes or having your hair styled. There wouldn’t be an industry us we all looked the same thing which is ai suspect why these things become popular.
Often “a look” are as much about excluding other people, as those of us that would call them pathetic.

Aridane · 05/05/2020 14:41

Surely you know you're not the only one. Common sense would dictate you are not. Not sure why you need to ask women on the internet for details of their public hair...

Indeed, making the pubic hair public!

ChilliCheese123 · 05/05/2020 14:42

I tidy mine! I just prefer how it looks. I don’t like untidy pubes on my partner either.

Qgardens · 05/05/2020 14:43

I'm embracing the retro 70's look.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 05/05/2020 14:52

You're not the only one, OP. I used to shave the edges, but really, I have no idea why. It rubbed and prickled and most of the time I had a horrible itchy red rash and stubble. Far more comfortable with a lovely bush. I could french-plait it these days. Smile

MrsToothyBitch · 05/05/2020 14:54

I've very recently gone from full 70s and loving it to looking in the mirror one day and deciding to go bare. I think I was a bit hot and itchy. I get my BF to shave me. He doesn't mind it either way and it was my decision. I really like it- complete reversal, I think I just fancied a change, shaved it off previously a couple of times and hated it. Feel cooler, lighter, sleeker, sexier and less itchy- but that's me personally. Do whatever makes you feel best.

Astrabees · 05/05/2020 14:55

waxing is best. I didn't shave mine because of the itchiness but waxing is amazing, very smooth and it grows back without the stubble. I'm a bit sad can't have it done at the moment but I'll be back at the waxing salon as soon as they reopen.

Patsypie · 05/05/2020 14:57

I never have. I think it looks revolting and adds to the pornification of women. I tidy the sides but having none is creepy as fuck.

PhoneLock · 05/05/2020 14:59

Wow! Three pages before somebody mentioned porn!

MarieQueenofScots · 05/05/2020 15:00

Great, I lost mine through illness - should I just shut up shop now lest some bloke thinks I'm contributing to women being oppressed?

having none is creepy as fuck

Why?

Are we going to have some simple-minded "OMG it looks like a child" - newsflash, it doesn't!

I can't imagine why one would discuss this with friends though - do what you want with your pubes!

StoppinBy · 05/05/2020 15:00

Every now and again I shave and quickly realise why I don't normally shave.

It's ITCHY AS FU** so then I skip shaving for 6 months forgetting how much it sucks hah.
