To feel like the only woman left who doesn't shave her pubes? 😂

During a group WhatsApp with friends last night, conversation (somehow!) turned to pubes. It would seem I am the only one who doesn't shave the whole lot off. I've done it a couple of times in the past but it itched when growing back and I actually feel sexier with a bit of a muff! Does anyone else not shave these days or am I a vile ogre?

Find completely bare odd. I don't want to feel like a child down there. Would find it a bit grotesque if DH was bare too. I like a proper man, and grown men have pubic hair. Nuff said.

locomoco19 · 12/05/2020 11:17

What disturbing comments did I just read Confused

There is something really wrong with you if You think completely bare is like being like a child or if partner prefers that he somewhat is wanting a child like V,

Pubic hair is disgusting for some, end of! Stop trying to liken it to that of a child. Just the same way I like to be completely bare, my dh is also bare, some people just don't like hair down there or should I say bush.
I also can't stand men with armpit hair, I find it revolting, but hey maybe that's my issue with hair.

Also in some cultures/religion it is required to remove those hair for cleanliness.

Bluesheep8 · 12/05/2020 11:59

Why would this come up in conversation? I'm baffled.

fiveoutoffive · 12/05/2020 12:01

The ancient egyptian cultural norm was to remove all hair, including head hair. The women wore wigs. I think children's heads were shaved too.

It is unfair to be judgemental of what women want to do with their pubes one way or the other, but I think the reason why paedophilia comes to mind for some people is because when paedophiles write about their desires, lack of body hair seems to be a big thing for them. Also, people who were abused when a child might also be triggered by the whole no hair thing.

So women like me aren’t “proper women”?

ChilliCheese123 · 12/05/2020 12:46

@Bluesheep8 it’s not that baffling. I have two best friends I’ve known since I was little and nothing is off limits! Sex, pubes, bodily functions ! We have seen each other in all kids of situations! It’s not that weird to talk to close friends about it !

Bluesheep8 · 12/05/2020 13:12

Oh Ok, must just be me then.

sammylady37 · 12/05/2020 13:13

Once again. If a lack of pubic hair makes your body (or that of your partner) look like a child, it’s time for a medical appointment.

Are people really this dense?

fiveoutoffive · 12/05/2020 13:49

@sammylady37 Are people really this dense? what dense? You will have to spell it out for me, I am afraid.

@Bluesheep8 definitely nothing off limits between my friends and I. Especially after a couple of large glasses of wine.

fiveoutoffive · 12/05/2020 13:50

I think another thing about pubes and sexual attraction is smell. It is possible that the more pubes, the more pungent the attracting hormonal smell is. Some people love the smells of their partner, stronger the better.

Floatyboat · 12/05/2020 16:01

It is interesting to wonder whether forbidden/subconscious paedophilic attraction has been channeled into an allowed/conscious preference for hairless genitalia of sexual partners. I doubt this applies to everyone, but it may apply to some. I think they're are other reasons to eg fashion, porn, increased stimulation during coitus, increased anxiety around hygiene etc

Oldsu · 12/05/2020 16:06

Wouldn't worry about it when you get to my age 65 you'll find out they have turned grey and are falling out on their own

ser786544443bty · 12/05/2020 16:19

I find shaved pubes offputting (with either sex). Fortunately it takes all kinds!

doadeer · 12/05/2020 16:39

It's not about the aesthetic.. When you've had a wax and you touch the area it feels so lovely and silky smooth. I love that feeling.

I wish DH would do more maintenance - his hair is so coarse it chaffes and is painful.

Its just personal preference.

sammylady37 · 12/05/2020 16:46

@fiveoutoffive

Dense enough to think that without pubic hair they will look like a child. It’s hardly the only difference between the body of an adult and that of a child but time and time again people talk as if it is and say that men who like women to have shaved/waxed are paedophiles. It’s bizarre logic.

Hagbeth · 12/05/2020 18:19

It’s my experience is that women that doesn’t conform to removing body hair gets shamed a lot. Just read these Twitter comments regarding a nude Victoria Bateman. twitter.com/vnbateman/status/1149025128635932673?s=21
