To tell DH that his potato’s are a joke?

DH and I used to work together. We don’t anymore but I’m in touch with the old team. Whenever there was a buffet DH used to make Bombay potatoes which he thought were dead popular. But the staff there just take the piss. The are on about a post lock down buffet and the major joke is DHs potatoes and messages such as “bless him”. DH is excited going on about how he will need to make these potatoes. AIBU to tell him he’s a joke?

If this is true, OP, then you're incredibly disloyal. If you have anything about you, you'd stand up for your husband. But you don't, do you, the best you can manage is to duplicate the 'laugh' on mumsnet.

Why would you even need to ask whether to defend your husband or not? Even if he was serving shit with sugar on I'd back him 100%! Your former colleagues sound like nasty people and if they're so comfortable to say such things to you then have you made him a joke behind his back in the past too?
Also got to agree they're probably the type of people who just want cold pizza, sausage rolls and a few crisps on a platter than anything actually tasteful!
