For me, it's 'and rightly so'. It sounds so bloody sanctimonious and grammatically it just feels wrong! 😡

Please ignore poll, I didn't mean to add one!

Get your ducks in a row 🦆 🦆

SpratsOnParade · 01/05/2020 11:07

Give your head a wobble.

BettyUnderswoob · 01/05/2020 11:07

"Fanny gallops"

So coarse and utterly repulsive. I feel like I need a bath now having written it.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 01/05/2020 11:07

Ending sentances with "No?"
Especially when the poster thinks it's some kind of gotcha or they're being a sanctimonious twatbadger.

Justkeepswimmingdory · 01/05/2020 11:08

Not a dig at you OP but 'getting on my wick' drives me up the wall for some reason

LunariaAlba · 01/05/2020 11:08

No offence taken Justkeepswimmingdory! I've agreed with most so far...

He's telling you who he really is, listen to him.

You should be able to get all the info you need on your complicated divorce/land dispute/child custody arrangement matter in a free 30-minute consultation with a lawyer.

ConstantlySeekingHappiness · 01/05/2020 11:11

“I couldn’t get worked up about this”

What do you want, a virtual round of applause?

WorraLiberty · 01/05/2020 11:11

Ending sentances with "No?"

Oh God, there was a time when a couple of posters used to end with "Non?"

So poncey.

Maverick101 · 01/05/2020 11:11

WorraLiberty · 01/05/2020 11:13

Whenever I read "Get your ducks in a row"

I always think why the fuck would I want to get my ducks into an argument? Confused Grin

Vanadis · 01/05/2020 11:13

Give your head a wobble. I always get an image of one of those bobble heads.

Got their arse handed to them. I just don’t get it.

Sandsnake · 01/05/2020 11:15

‘No is a complete answer / sentence’. No it’s not! Things are often far more complex than that.

And also...

‘I would have...’ usually followed by an implausibly assertive / proactive reaction to a situation.

Annabk · 01/05/2020 11:16

“You will need to get a better paid job OP” or “Can you not get a better job and bring in more money?”

As if it’s that easy Confused

Spidey66 · 01/05/2020 11:16

LTB.

OK there are times that it is justified, but someone may post ''been with him 10 years, he is a lovely man, hard worker, and great with the children. He went out after work with colleagues last night, and came back pissed as a fart, and was sick on the doorstep. I have only seen him drunk on three occasions since we got together.'' To me, this is forgivable, but many MN posters would label him an alcoholic and suggest a solicitors visit next day, a visit to an Al-Anon group and a call to the locksmiths for an urgent visit the minute he leaves the house.

When people write:

PrincessConsuelaBananahamm0ck · 01/05/2020 11:18

Massive red flag

ZaraW · 01/05/2020 11:20

Giving me the shits....

Homemadearmy · 01/05/2020 11:21

Head tilt and tinkly laugh
What's your aibu
No is a complete sentence

Thurmanmurman · 01/05/2020 11:24

Another vote for 'Get your ducks in a row'. My old boss used to say this at work and she was an absolute whopper. I also hate 'no is a complete sentence'. Of course it's not you tit! Glad to have got that off my chest.

Pleasebeafleabite · 01/05/2020 11:26

He's telling you who he really is, listen to him

Extra bonus points if the DH concerned has actually come out and clearly said what’s wrong, rather than acted in a shifty manner

MoonBlood · 01/05/2020 11:27

‘Gives me the rage’

Fuck off.

NotACleverName · 01/05/2020 11:27
  • "Did you mean to be so rude" is not the cutting insult some users seem to think it is. Actually, yes, I did mean to be so rude.
  • Balonz as a baby name suggestion. Stopped being funny about two years ago.
  • Over-usage and armchair diagnoses of "narcissism"
  • Woke when it's used as insult (it isn't, but cool co-opting of AAVE terms strongly tied to the Civil Rights movement as something negative, folks!)
