I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

The Lake District.

Specifically, on a long cycle ride I came down a hill and was tired when Lake Ullswater suddenly appeared before me. It was just a stunning view and lifted me.

Booboodisney · 01/05/2020 10:34

Eagles flying over the hills in Mull

And when you come to the end of the street in a Southern California beach town. The beach is just there, in front of you and the pacific stretching out. It’s weird to know there’s nothing you can just jump on a ferry to like when you’re looking at the Irish Sea it the Channel or the Mrs - Hermosa, Newport, there’s a few.

On a cruise going into Kotor simply the mist stunning sight

GenderApostate19 · 01/05/2020 10:56

Mount Cook from the terrace of the Hermitage hotel on South island New Zealand.
Night view of NY from top of the Empire State.
Venice from the tower of San Giorgio Maggiore.
Lake Taupo, north Island NZ, standing in the actual Hobbiton was beautiful and surreal.
Tomb of the Terracotta warriors near Xian, China, ditto the Great Wall , the Forbidden city and Summer palace in Beijing.
The bund, Shanghai.
Cable car station above Dubrovnik.
Sailing in to Kotor, Montenegro.
I know Santorini is meant to be breathtaking but I was underwhelmed. Found the pyramids awful too, just a huge rubbish dump.
Standing on the hill above my village gives a great view of the Welsh mountains and the Cheshire plain on clear days, from Jodrell bank in the East to Wales/Liverpool in the West.

Lake Pukaki in NZ was breathtaking. DH and I did a road trip around the South Island and I remember we turned a corner and it was just... there. We were so in awe, the colour is magnificent. Much of the South Island is absolutely, breathtakingly stunning.

Other equally awe-inspiring views that come to mind are the view from the Bund in Shanghai, the Great Wall of China in Mutianyu and the New York skyline, which gets me every time!

GREATAUNT1 · 01/05/2020 11:57

Having a burrito & a beer at The Sand Shack, Onetangi Beach, Waikeke Island, NZ was the stuff that dreams are made of.

Picton, NZ was heavenly too.

bettybattenburg · 01/05/2020 13:00

The view from the Summit Road, Port Hills is up there with my best views - if you are a passenger at any rate, as a driver you need to watch the road very closely.

Bodie83Nahla · 01/05/2020 13:04

Sunset in Barbados on the beach, on my first ever trip there.

Took this photo 29th December 2018.

Around every corner in the Rockies, especially around Lake Louise. Lots of places in Wales.

The best though, in my opinion, is London at night. It’s dirty, smelly, noisy, overcrowded and the pigeons carry knuckle dusters. It’s the most beautiful city in the world.

cantdothisnow1 · 01/05/2020 13:26

The Pacific Rim National Park - Canada, we parked an RV on a remote campsite and it was just stunning.
Lake Louise
Closer to home the view from a campsite in Beddgellert in Snowdonia National Park and the the views from the South West Coast Path towards Lundy

Whatthefunk · 01/05/2020 13:27

Arches national park

CherryBlossomPink · 01/05/2020 13:31

Glacier Bay national park from a cruise ship
Stunning scenery

VenusClapTrap · 01/05/2020 13:35

So many contenders, but Norway has it for me. The little red huts dotted in that spectacular landscape give it the edge over New Zealand. It is just SO pretty.

Sunrise over the lake in Udaipur in Rajasthan comes second.

Iguassu Falls third.

walkingchuckydoll · 01/05/2020 13:36

Same place but can't choose between day or night.

Seeing the sun rise behind the mountains of Frecinet park in Tasmania.

Watching the milky way in the pitch dark night at the same spot. I've never seen it so vivid in all my life. It was breathtaking.

Ilikeviognier · 01/05/2020 13:37
  • Beaches in the Maldives

  • the blue lagoon- Iceland
Hmmmm2018 · 01/05/2020 13:45

Very passe here, but has to be early morning view of the Taj Mahal, I was expecting it not to live up to the hype but it was such an amazing moment, we were the first group of people there, sun rising and pretty much empty. Awesome

baggies · 01/05/2020 13:45

The view from the the side of Lake Coniston. We have a bench there in memory of my mum. It's stunning and feel so close to her when we visit .

Hmmmm2018 · 01/05/2020 13:47

Second is wild camping in Snowdonia, with a morning View of empty hills with no houses or people in sight and a stream bubbling past

BlingLoving · 01/05/2020 13:51

Table Mountain from pretty much every angle. I think it's one of the amazing things about Cape Town - even when you aren't on the beach, you look up and this mountain is just there, hanging over you as you're heading into a shopping mall or a museum.

The Peloponnese in Greece. The drive from Kalamata around the "fingers" was the most beautiful I've ever done and I can't wait to go back one day.

Lemonlady22 · 01/05/2020 18:51

The dolphins at Shimoni in Kenya, Ibiza, The giant turtles on the beach in Ahungalla in Sri Lanka, Ibiza, The waterfall at Dunes River in Jamaica, Ibiza, Paradise Island in Dominican Republic, Ibiza, Flying over Cape Cod in a 6 seater plane, Ibiza, Old American cars in Cuba, Ibiza, Santo winery sunset in Santorini....oh and my favourite place ever IBIZA..just feel at home there and visit twice a year, will miss it this year 😥
