I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

The top of Mount Etna Sicily, God's window in South Africa, Milau Viaduct in France, driving the mountain pass in Tenerife, the whole of Sardinia, Torc waterfall in Ireland, and many more. Mother nature is spectacular!

The view across Ullswater from the campsite at Side Farm, Patterdale. We stayed there for a week most summers in my childhood. I couldn't find a photo that did it justice, but the one here comes close: www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/photo/side-farm-campsite-by-ullswater-with-high-res-stock-photography/123513964

GrouchyKiwi · 30/04/2020 21:04

It's such a majestic mountain, @bettybattenburg

Cape Kidnappers (New Zealand). Well worth a google.

Transfagarasan rHighway in Romania, not the famous wiggly but going down past the cable cars. The trees are miles high and the rocks and and.

It is such a spectacular country

Stepping out of Penn Station and walking past Madison Square Garden the first time we went to New York. I’d dreamed of going for years and I couldn’t believe I was there.

We’ve been a few times and I still get a pang of homesickness for it, even though I’ve never lived there. It’s an amazing city.

We climbed Mt. Sinai through the night, riding on camels, with the Milky Way above us which was breathtaking, and then watched the dawn break over the mountains.
Whilst in no way religious I can certainly see why that landscape inspired so many!

mizu · 30/04/2020 21:18

20+ years ago where I lived I could see Mount Fuji on a good day. That was always pretty special.

Jenniferturkington · 30/04/2020 21:21

I agree with lots mentioned e.g. NYC from the air at night, Niagara Falls, iguazu falls, Masada.
However the sight that stays with me is Bryce Canyon- stunning by day- but at night it is truly dark - so many stars!

Echobelly · 30/04/2020 21:22

The Apostles in Cape Town at sunset - especially with clouds pouring over them (though surprisingly I can't seem to find a pic of that)

This one - not telling anyone where it is so you can't all go there and spoil it !!

It wasn't really a view but it was something I saw.
We went on a safari in Kenya and spent the night in a small hotel in a game reserve which was close to a watering hole.
During the night we were woken by knocking on the door and people calling , "The elephants are here"
We went down to the ground floor which was open and there were dozens of elephants coming through the dark towards the watering hole. They were so big and yet so quiet and everyone was being very quiet too. They stayed for a while and then they all wandered off again. It was incredible. I'll never forget it.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 30/04/2020 21:27

I have a view of the alps from my front terrace. Love it.

Oooh I think I know that beach in Guernsey. We lived there for nearly 5 years. I l9ved that beach, it was about 15 mins walk from where we lived.

MartiniDry · 30/04/2020 21:36

It's a toss-up between Niagara Falls from a boat beneath it and the Falls viewed from catacombs to the side of it.

Lordfrontpaw · 30/04/2020 21:39

Possibly a glacier. It was chuffing huge and greeny blue and I got very very excited and started running around like an excited dog. I wasn’t a child either 😆

SenecaFallsRedux · 30/04/2020 21:40

Niagara Falls
Sailing into New York Harbor and seeing the Statue of Liberty in the dawning light
Glen Coe
Standing under the dome in St. Paul's Cathedral and looking up
The view of Edinburgh from the several places that command a view of the city (I love them all.)

bettybattenburg · 30/04/2020 21:41

I think I cried the first time I saw icebergs and glaciers.

bettybattenburg · 30/04/2020 21:42
