I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

So many breathtaking views in South Africa. And the skies are so vast - beautiful.

JeffJarrett · 30/04/2020 21:49

A giant sea turtle burying her eggs in Mexico on my honeymoon 🥰

LesLavandes · 30/04/2020 21:49

I was stunned by opening my curtains first morning in Cairo and there were the Pyramids of Giza opposite. Just like the pictures I had seen since my childhood.

The migration and crossing of Mara river - Kenya.

Datça Peninsula, Turkey. Stunning.

East coast of Kenya

Again - Lake Louise summer and winter

Ineedanamechangeagain · 30/04/2020 21:50

Sunset over the NY skyline in the autumn. We were at the Top of the Rock and I thought I could drink in that view forever.
Or Gullfoss falls in Iceland. It was remarkably quiet the day we went and I could have stood looking at it all day

jennylouisaa · 30/04/2020 21:52

Pretty much the whole of the Hawaiian island Oahu. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking of it!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 30/04/2020 21:53

echobelly me and DS walked that road in January, it is stunning. I concur entirely.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 30/04/2020 21:54

I've been very fortunate to have visited a lot of the places on this thread & many more besides, but for me the most beautiful and spectacular view in the world is that of the Atlantic Ocean from the north coast of Northern Ireland! Many places along the coast are just unbelievable including by Dunluce Castle and also along the cliff top driving towards Portrush. Stunning!

1moresurvey · 30/04/2020 22:05

Seen some wonderful sights across the world but the most beautiful and breathtaking sight was seeing my grandson being born! That was truly a once in a lifetime moment I'll never forget.

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 30/04/2020 22:10

I went trekking 3 years ago around the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal. Those sights were just incredibly breathtaking.

SillyCow6 · 30/04/2020 22:15

The coastal views on the west of Ireland, there are some where you dont see the sea at all until you drive over the crest of a hill and suddenly there's a panoramic sea view in front of you with the most beautiful blues in the sea and the greens in the grass and the old stone walls. It is a magical place

ThisHereMamaBear · 30/04/2020 22:16

Yosemite national park. The pictures we took look like we've heavily edited them

Whatevernext1 · 30/04/2020 22:16

Can I have 3?!

The Grand Canyon, you don't realise how vast it is until you see it. It also brings back lovely memories of the person I went with sitting in The Bright Angel Lodge there with a hot chocolate in front of the fire.

Niagara Falls in heavy snow, wow that was amazing! All of the railings were covered in big icicles,I love the snow and the cold. I would love to go back. My grandad lived in Canada and took me but has since passed away. Niagara on the lake is also beautiful and old fashioned lovely little shops etc. The tiny white church on the way is also a must.

The Taj Mahal as you walk through the arch and get your first glimpse. I took myself by surprise and actually cried which is very unlike me! Something in me changed that day, truly magical,I struggle to put into words how to describe it. I would love to go back,India holds a special place in my heart,I was travelling on my own and met some truly wonderful people.

I hope we all get to see what a wonderful world we live in once more when this is eventually over.

mrsBtheparker · 30/04/2020 22:22

Lots of wonderful static views, many mentioned here but watching a few hundred hot air balloons take off at the Albuquerque Fiesta is amazing.

Bryce Canyon with snow on the ground is beautiful, Canyon de Chelly is idfferent as it involves a drive through the canyon floor.
Landing at Las Vegas at night never fails to be stunning, it suddenly appears from the blackness.
Watching the shuttle Columbia take off in '89, even though we were quite a few miles away the shaking of the ground was fantastic.

Lordfrontpaw · 30/04/2020 22:26

I have to say - my heart still swells when I see the mountains near my childhood home and I always think ‘Scotland has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world’.

snowybean · 30/04/2020 22:50

The River Blackwater, Essex 😍😍

Or

Taken from the top of Col de la Loze near Méribel 😍

Driving up from France into Andorra or the view from nth cable car coming down the mountain from the slopes.

The perspective looking down the streets in New York or the Chrysler Building by helicopter.

The sunset over Gansey Beach looking towards Port St Mary on the Isle of Man.

The view from the cable car over the rainforest near Cairns, Australia.

Daffodil101 · 01/05/2020 00:45

Platypus in the wild through binoculars? Manhattan from a helicopter? Sunset over Darwin? Grand Canyon? Space shuttle at Cape Canaveral?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer St Ives.

Daffodil101 · 01/05/2020 00:46

(Though ive been in that cable car, too, red!)

stormsurfer · 01/05/2020 01:22

Petra and Wadi Rum in Jordan.

Glencoe, Luskentyre, Wester Ross, Elgol in Scotland.

Macchu Pichu slowly appearing though the mist at dawn.

grumpyfuckerr · 01/05/2020 03:52

@ImNotChangingMyUsernameAgain I grew up down the road from Cape Kidnappers. Was my favourite field trip as a kid! Smile

Haven’t been back in years, might have to make a nostalgic trip when we are allowed to travel again!

stellabelle · 01/05/2020 04:12

Opening the curtains of our hotel room in Queenstown, New Zealand and being astonished by the huge lake with the towering mountains behind. I never got sick of that sight, which filled our floor-to-ceiling windows.

trytrytrying · 01/05/2020 04:35

Bagan temples in Myanmar. Breath taking.

bettybattenburg · 01/05/2020 10:25

I'll add an unexpected one. I had to travel for work to somewhere I'd never been before and arrived in the dark so got a taxi to the hotel - the driver said it was quite a way, about 45 minutes. I'd got no idea where I was being taken to which was a bit disconcerting, I woke in the morning expecting to see a town but had a view something like this - not the best view but I certainly appreciated it.

lastqueenofscotland · 01/05/2020 10:27

Vinales in Cuba was probably the most dramatic.

Xenia · 01/05/2020 10:28

We saw some lovely ones in the Seychelles last summer. I love Northumberland and its isolation and we usually ski and I try to get to places where no one else is and those high up landscapes above the tree line with masses of snow and mountains are very good. Although as I said above nothing has ever beaten seeing my 5 children just after they were born.
