To ask the spookiest/creepiest/mysterious thing you've ever heard?

SpookyOhs · 23/04/2020 17:32

I know we've had these before but I just love all things creepy or mysterious!

I love reading them in the evening, perhaps I'm a freak but what is the scariest thing you've ever heard (or seen if you have any first hand experiences!)? Or even a horror short you've watched?

I usually read things about mysterious disappearances, anything to do with cults or witches gives me the creeps.

The Smiling Man on Creepy Pasta is one that always makes me uneasy!

AintNoMaryPoppins · 23/04/2020 18:27

Applejaxx · 23/04/2020 18:30

Have you ever seen the clip of the home
made robot/mannequin singing ‘I feel so fantastic hey hey’? Just a word of warning don’t watch it whilst alone or late at night or before bed..

My daughter age 3 talked about two girls who "lived" in our house, she told me their names but I won't say them here as it might be outing, a lot of people know this story. She told me they had told her they'd gone on holiday and named the remote Scottish island they'd gone to and showed me it on the map! I had never even heard of it until I saw it on the map. Now age 10 she doesn't remember that and says she hasn't heard of the island! We had A LOT of ghostly activity in that house with those two girls and others.

AintNoMaryPoppins · 23/04/2020 22:32

Toothsil Shock I love all things like this!

farmertom · 23/04/2020 22:38

FrankieDoyle · 23/04/2020 22:43

Salad Fingers on YouTube. Just....no.

Toothsil · 23/04/2020 22:48

@AintNoMaryPoppins I have loads of stories like this. I recently asked DD if she really did see those two girls and she said yes. I asked if she remembered what they looked like and she said "the only way I can think to describe them is sort of pearly" 😮 At the time she used to say they had dresses down to their feet and long hair. I know they used to play with her, I once saw her standing on her scooter in the kitchen with both feet on the scooter and it suddenly shot back and she giggled and it shot forwards and she giggled more and it kept doing that. She said they were pulling and pushing her scooter!

Great thread OP! Big fan of horror and anything scary so this is right up my street!

Something I stumbled upon quite recently was a spooky story written by Roald Dahl - it's called The Landlady. Brilliant piece of writing.

Also check out the disappearance of Asha Degree, and Maura Murray. Some real creepy stuff Shock

Midsommar · 23/04/2020 22:54

Also check out Rob Dyke on YouTube (I think he has since changed his last name but if you search for this his channel still comes up). Love his stuff, especially regarding mysterious disappearances. Enjoy!

Was in London with my 3 year old daughter for the first time. We were in a black cab and passed The Houses of Parliament. I was so excited about her being in a taxi and seeing Big Ben. She turned and looked at me and said; “I’ve been in lots of taxis and used to see this all the time, when I lived here last time”!!!
She also used to “talk” to “the old man in the hall”!

Crunchymum · 23/04/2020 23:07

I’ve had a few in this house.

I got into bed one night, turned the light off, and felt someone sit on the bottom of the bed, I moved my foot across and hit a ‘body’. I said ‘oh ds what’s wrong I’m just going to sleep’ as I put the light on- no one was there. Went into ds’s room and he was snoring away catching flies.

I’ve also seen orbs here and watched them fly across the room.

Also had items move, things like bottles rocking back and forth in front of me, and items falling off shelves when no one has been near them.

BearFoxBear · 23/04/2020 23:18

Years ago, I went to the toilet during the night and didn't put the lights on. No one else around. I was sitting on the loo and heard a voice outside the bathroom say "lights!" and the light went on Shock

PomBearWithoutHerOFRS · 23/04/2020 23:21

I have told these before on here, but, when I worked in a care home, I had two "spooky" incidents ...
One was a gentleman who was born in 1898 and who had fought in the first world war. He was dying, and we used to "keep vigil" so to speak. He was hallucinating and was convinced he was back in the trenches, with his mates, they were crawling across his room, and he was totally reliving some horrific things.
The other was a lady who was close to the end, she was basically comatose, but all of a sudden she sat bolt upright in bed, looked at empty air, smiles the most beautiful smile I have ever seen, and said "I waited for you, I knew you'd come" then laid back passed away .

PlaceMarking for the morning... not that I'm a wimp

TofutiKline · 23/04/2020 23:28

Omfg the smiling man!! It takes a lot to freak me out but my heart is actually racing! Horrible!

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 23/04/2020 23:29

BearFox that is very, very creepy indeed!

Bunnyfuller · 23/04/2020 23:42

I’m following. Not that I really need to as I darent fucking sleep.

We’re in a 400 yr old cottage and both my D.C. have claimed things have happened. On one occasion my youngest screamed at me to come upstairs. She showed me a line of hair grips all lined up. She hadn’t done it, she’s the scruffiest little fester ever, and she was genuinely scared. The eldest says she has seen a figure leaning over her bed several nights.

Shudder.

2bazookas · 23/04/2020 23:47

in my teens I had a summer job in a hospital for the disabled. . A lady had just been admitted for a week's temporary respite care to give her family a little break.. Mid afternoon we served teas to patients She asked me to bring another cup of tea for her visitor; I said "who do you mean? There's nobody here." She replied " Can't you see him? He's sitting at the end of my bed in a white suit. I don't know him, but he knows all about me. He says he's going to come back for me tonight".
Very unexpectedly, she died in her sleep that night.

Ezira · 23/04/2020 23:47

I was in bed with the duvet over my head, the light was on because I could see it filtering through the duvet, and DNephew was running round the bed screaming and giggling. I put up with it for a while then got fed up and yelled to DNephew “Stop it!” as I pulled the duvet off my head. The room was instantly dark and I was alone. Still no idea what happened!

Brigante9 · 24/04/2020 00:10

My ddog, Jake, used to like to take himself off and have a snooze on the spare bed in the room above the lounge. He’d then jump down, made quite a thud. He was pts aged 7, cancer, bloody devastated us. For years afterwards, he still jumped down off the bed, right above my head. I’d roll my eyes and tell my dh it was just Jake. It stopped about 2 years ago, 8 years after he was gone. There are no pipes in that area, so it wasn’t that.

UnagiSalmonSkinRoll · 24/04/2020 00:12

I listened to 'Let's Not Meet' podcast, there are loads of episodes which I binged in a few days, some of them are good!
