Am I being a dick? My bf is nor my daughters father. He has 2 kids he barely sees (one night a week usually but only 1 hour a week now with lock down) hes grumpy I'm spending all my time teaching my daughter. I also cook him big breakfast everyday and cook dinner every night. Am I being unreasonable to want some help? All.he does everyday is watch tv, doesnt help with cleaning or washing up. He doesnt ever brush his teeth and wears sane socks for a week despite having clean ones.

Ewww. Your poor dd. She shouldn’t have to put up with this vile specimen in her home. Why haven’t you thrown him out already?

leckford · 19/04/2020 07:17

Make sure you do not have a child with this man

strawberry2017 · 19/04/2020 07:18

Why are you with him OP? He sounds like a disgusting excuse of a man.

Intothefuture · 19/04/2020 07:22

Tell him it’s not working out and you’re not cooking today.

blubberball · 19/04/2020 07:23

Sounds like my exh. Get rid.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 19/04/2020 07:35

Sounds rank. Give yourself a treat and kick the loser out. Do it today, who gives a shit where he goes. Your daughter will thank you. And stop framing it in your head as domestic work being your job that a man might "help" with. Domestic work is the responsibility of every adult living in a house. No one is "helping", no one gets a medal for doing the dishes, everyone pulls their weight equally or they piss off.

Cnoc · 19/04/2020 07:40

What is it about this dirty, lazy, sexist, neglectful father you find attractive, OP?

AlwaysCheddar · 19/04/2020 07:58

Get rid.

Boireannachlaidir · 19/04/2020 07:59

I'm sorry you're in this relationship OP. You've had good advice on here. Please understand you don't need to settle for a partner like this. You had me at "barely sees his kids" and that was before you said you cooked breakfast & dinner for him, he gets jealous of your child, doesn't brush his teeth or change his clothes. Ugh.

MissMuddyPuddles · 19/04/2020 08:00

He doesn't brush his teeth?? He'd be out the door quicker than he could say gingivitis

This! Sorry OP

Shoxfordian · 19/04/2020 08:03

Do you really need a man that badly that a lazy smelly one will do?

Hopeisnotastrategy · 19/04/2020 08:06

And he’s a great addition to your life because why exactly?

Redwinestillfine · 19/04/2020 08:08

The silver lining- you found this out now. He can go lockdown somewhere else!

Intothefuture · 19/04/2020 08:10

Does he sleep in the stinky socks or does he remove them at bedtime and put them back on each morning?

TheSmelliestHouse · 19/04/2020 08:14

He sounds disgusting.

pictish · 19/04/2020 08:31

Sounds like he needs to go home now...jealous of your daughter and slabbing around your house being cooked for.
What are you doing?

pictish · 19/04/2020 08:31

*slobbing

pictish · 19/04/2020 08:32

Why do you cook him a big breakfast every day?

CalleighDoodle · 19/04/2020 08:33

Do not waste your time.

Do you want to be with a man who resents your daughter, and is lazy and wont do his share in the house? No? Then throw him out.

A if you do want a man like that, WHY do you want a man like that?! Why are your boundaries so poor? Throw him out and arrange counselling.

GabriellaMontez · 19/04/2020 08:33

Disgusting. Why do you keep him on?

pictish · 19/04/2020 08:34

I mean this guy won’t even go to the trouble to brush his teeth for you...but there you are frying up the bacon for his big breakfast.
Why?

Lailaloo747 · 19/04/2020 08:36

Get rid. There’s lazy.....then there’s ‘not brushing your teeth’ lazy. Gross.

tiredanddangerous · 19/04/2020 08:38

Stop cooking him breakfast every morning for a start! When he asks where it is tell him it’s his turn and give him your order. He sounds like a complete waste of space.

Booboostwo · 19/04/2020 08:39

You are lucky you don't have a child with this useless specimen of humanity so that when you show him the door you never have to see him ever again.

Yetanothernamechange1234 · 19/04/2020 08:42

Thank you all, I've read everything and need to have a think. Was prepared to come back to this thread and be told it's completely normal and I was a cow for thinking it wasnt, so thank you. (And yes he takes his socks off at night and puts them back on...same if he has a shower... we dont usually live together, he lives with his parents usually.. lockdown has made him stay here)
