Couple doing the tango in finsbury park

I'm staying in. My family are staying in and elderly relatives really suffering with depression and loneliness but still following guidelines. I'm exercising by walking the dog early morning around the block. I.e streets close to my house. I don't need a park or a beach. I certainly dont need to dance the tango in finsbury park. AIBU to be disgusted in people and their clear disregard for others safety. I cant believe their behaviour.

You need to read the legislation

PositiveVibez · 12/04/2020 22:46

They're breaking the most fundamental law of the lockdown - they're enjoying themselves. Don't they realise, It's not a holiday. The only things you are allowed to do during lockdown are things that make you miserable

Precisely.

What people should be doing is wearing hair shirts, chaining themselves to each other to walk round the block, then going home to eat bread and drink water.

Would you be happy then OP?

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2020 22:47

My hobbies include birdwatching and appreciation of nature. I suppose I'm not allowed to break stride in my walk to look at birds or flowers, according to the OPs 'rule' relating to minimum time?Hmm

If I was walking in a park, I'd be delighted to see dancers at an appropriate distance, just as in the countryside I'm delighted by a lapwing and a zephyr of bumbarrels.

Samtsirch · 12/04/2020 22:48

Good for them!!!
Better than sitting at home being miserable and moaning about what others are doing 🙂

wafflyversatile · 12/04/2020 22:50

People that don't have dogs like exercise too. If you are going to get your knickers in a twist about these two exercise your dog in your house or garden.

Samtsirch · 12/04/2020 22:54

@AutumnLeavesSeptember
Yes it is!
I haven’t laughed so much in ages, and it’s keeping me up way beyond my bedtime 🤣
Long live outrage !

No. You certainly are not!!!! No pleasure allowed. Please move quickly and get back indoors.

Please do not eat chocolate or drink alcohol either.

Please do not even think about anything nice and definitely don't have a shag.

Happiness is banned. Did you not know!!?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/04/2020 23:02

Ohhhh they were doing the ACTUAL tango
I thought you meant the rudey one Blush Grin
As you were.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 12/04/2020 23:06

The tango in Finsbury Park?

Meh.

(Unless it's a horizontal tango...)

But the cha cha in Hampstead Heath?

Now that would be scandalous!

isabellerossignol · 12/04/2020 23:07

Have you ever considered becoming a Free Presbyterian? They worry about dancing too.

I've only managed to not do one of those today. Blush

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2020 23:22

Though I hasten to add, not in Finsbury, or any other, park.

PositiveVibez · 13/04/2020 00:05

Bet it's the shagging, cos you're too full of non-essential wine and chocolate. If it is. Same 😂😂😂

Gingerkittykat · 13/04/2020 00:06

We should all be walking around like Zohan!
Disco, disco, good, good

FFS, the man has no concept of road safety. If we all went Disco, disco, good good then the NHS would have to deal with multiple RTAs.

Don't even get me started on the lack of social distancing and clothes stall being open! Grin

@Gingerkittykat 😂😂😂

Gingerkittykat · 13/04/2020 00:41

I'll not share the pic of the Easter Bunny doing his socially distant round to give the kids in the village an Easter egg and something to smile at in case someone explodes!

Fefifofaff · 13/04/2020 00:47

Fluffiest excellent use of the Footloose quote. Well done. 👍

Shitsgettingcrazy · 13/04/2020 06:42

As I said, at the moment it could encourage others to do the same. Dancing in public draws attention and plenty of people are using this lockdown to show off their... talents at the moment.

This is such a week argument. If today more dancers turn up and all dance together, they are to blame.

If people stand and watch, in groups. They people standing in groups, are to blame.

For all you know, if someone had stopped to watch, that couple may have stopped and told them they needed to move along as to not attract other people wanting to watch.

The only persons actions you are responsible for are you own. If you are out having a walk and decides to stop and stand in a group to watch people exercising. That your responsibility. Not the responsibility if the people exercising.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 13/04/2020 06:43

Ffs. WEAK argument.

TKAAHUARTG · 13/04/2020 06:49

I just watched a group of around 20 people playing softball outside my house. They don’t all live together. Two people doing the tango away from everyone else is fine.

HandfulOfFlowers · 13/04/2020 07:24

People enjoying themselves within the guidelines. Ooh, I bet the self-appointed Covid police are frothing 😂

CasperGutman · 13/04/2020 07:26

Some posts on here remind me of the Crucible, with the disapproval of anything that brings joy. If anyone hasn't seen the spoof doing the rounds on social media, it's here: www.salenagodden.co.uk/2020/04/poem-i-saw-goody-proctor-jogging.html?m=1
