Not my knickers

Butternutsqoosh · 09/04/2020 10:29

Found some black lacy knickers in the wash this morning. Not mine, not my kids, was I being unreasonable to ask my husband whose they were? They were mixed up with his washing on the bedroom floor. He's now not talking to me because I "accused him of being unfaithful " I didn't, I asked him whose they were and why they were in his washing. It has transpired that my daughter put put them on the floor in our room because they were in her clean washing and weren't hers. He says I was being pissy but I wasn't, I was just asking whose they were and why they were there. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would be very suspicious OP.

Is he still working outside the house? Any other odd behaviour? What's he like with his phone?

Sorry Flowers

YouJustDoYou · 09/04/2020 11:02

What age is your DS?
Op doesn't have a ds.

Sammy867 · 09/04/2020 11:03

Any cats? A neighbourhood cat round here steals washing so you have to be careful.

YouJustDoYou · 09/04/2020 11:03

Also, sometimes it's not that men cross dress in the women's underwear, they use them to wank in (🤮)

Keepmeawayfromthecrisps · 09/04/2020 11:03

Think it depends how you asked him tbh. My dh found a pair of men’s boxers in the wash years ago - he worked away at the time and when he asked me about them it was basically accusing me of cheating! I had no idea where they’d come from and i did get a bit pissed off and defensive.
It was probably my dh who brought them home as he shared accommodation when he worked away, or they could have been my nephews who had stayed a few months before. Never did find out.

OiyeaOiyea · 09/04/2020 11:04

Do you have a cat and a cat flap? We were finding all sorts of things in our house - socks, flannels, and the piece de resistance: a long pink feather boa (not even kidding). It was our cat hauling home treasures. I hope that's your explanation.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 09/04/2020 11:04

But he wouldn't have known where they came from if the DD put them on the floor. And in all honesty if a pair of knickers randomly appeared on our bedroom floor DH would assume they were mine and probably pick them up with his stuff.

qazxc · 09/04/2020 11:05

Rogue knickers are surprisingly common. Especially if you have moved into a previously occupied house, they can spend years stuck behind a radiator before falling out for example.
His reaction to a simple question seems OTT.

EllaAlright · 09/04/2020 11:06

Definitely not unreasonable. Who wouldn’t ask where a pair of random knickers came from?

How has your husband been since you approached him about it?

AGreatUsername · 09/04/2020 11:07

Just thought, if they appeared in DDs clean washing, who washed them and sorted out the dry washing?! I find it unlikely that if he’s up to no good he’d have washed them and planted them in your daughters room. Maybe there IS an explanation.

NoMoreDickheads · 09/04/2020 11:07

I think you're perfectly reasonable in asking. Grin

In fact I would be very suspicious and I don't think that suspicion would be unreasonable.

BadBear · 09/04/2020 11:07

Once you have solved this, can you please come and solve my knickers mystery which I never bothered to solve four years ago?

I was sorting out my underwear drawer when I noticed not only one but two pairs of knickers which were not mine. I was leaving alone, didn't have a cat, hadn't had any guests over. Four years later and I still don't know whose they are... (I obviously didn't keep them)

dyscalculicgal96 · 09/04/2020 11:08

I'm sorry but I think you need to prepare for the worst.

EllaAlright · 09/04/2020 11:08

There was a thread on here where a woman had found some expensive knickers that weren’t hers, the thread was about 30 pages long, transpired the cat dragged them from the back of the radiator I think, belonged to the previous owner if I remember correctly.

Justaboy · 09/04/2020 11:09

I think most all men would take umbrage of being asked such a question!

Will all the implications that nickers of the worng sort bring!

coconuttelegraph · 09/04/2020 11:11

So many questions, are any of you going out to work? Do you have a cat? Do you have an outdoor washing line, could they have blown over from a neighbours? If you DH was having an affair would he be stupid enough to bring home the OW's knickers? Have you had an unauthorised lockdown visitor? Do you only wash every 3 weeks?

Come back, we need more details

QuestionMarkNow · 09/04/2020 11:11

Gosh, Ive never had any rogue knickers. How n earth those things are managing to find themselves in weird place when nothing else does?
I mean I'd rather find a nice fancy tshirt than a nive fancy pair of knickers... I'd wear the tshirt but not the knickers!

ittakes2 · 09/04/2020 11:11

Have you had a house guest in the last 12 months? Similar happened to me - but on checking the label it was made in the sand country where I was born and turned out to be my sisters that got mixed up with things.

LuckiestB · 09/04/2020 11:16

So I have to chime in here, this happened to my mum and dad - I was about 9 and they very nearly split up. Eventually it transpired I had gone for a day out with my aunt, had sat in a puddle and she had given me a pair of her knickers to wear once we had gotten back just to get me home. She had forgotten to mention it and the truth only came out when she delivered my underwear back to us after the wash. Unlikely and a lack of communication but it is possible.

Justaboy · 09/04/2020 11:17

OK answer me this one then!

How is it despite lockdowm that odd socks still go missing and ones that I had at Xmas too, thats a life of what three months?

Where do they go to my lovely???

YouDoYou18 · 09/04/2020 11:17

Taking out the idea he’s having an affair (which he could be but I honestly don’t know) I don’t think it’s completely crazy for someone to be upset that you don’t trust them. I would probably laugh if my husband asked me the same question, but I can see how he could possibly have gotten upset if he is innocent! Although now I’d really like to know where in earth they came from!

Billben · 09/04/2020 11:19

I'm sure it's an innocent explanation but he went mad that I'd even asked.

This would be like a red rag to the bull for me. If you are innocent, what is there to go mad about?

OldUnit · 09/04/2020 11:19

Please post a picture of them so we can sleuth! 🕵️‍♀️

Anotheruser02 · 09/04/2020 11:21

He's made you feel unreasonable for asking. That say's it all.

Don't second guess whether you were allowed to ask him about something.

BovaryX · 09/04/2020 11:21

This scenario is confusing, but of all the possible explanations, I find the furtive feline mysteriously depositing lacy knickers from another house into a clean laundry basket the least convincing.....
