Am I the only one who actually couldn’t give a shiny shit what she has to say at this time.

People are dying , everyone is affected so the last thing we need is a rich old woman sitting in her ivory castle asking us to stay calm.

It’s really wound me up, it’s constantly being mentioned on the news!

OP posts:
Clavinova · 05/04/2020 11:33

A few Instagram posts and it’s hard here and job done

"Alice Bloxham, a sister in the hospital’s Covid-19 cohort ward, said It was a pleasure to talk to the duke and duchess and to be able to explain some of the challenges we face for our patients.”

"Emily Johnson, a hospital spokeswoman added, “It genuinely felt like they shared in our grief.”

"Accident and emergency nurse Brogan Bishop, who only qualified two months ago, was jumping up and down with excitement after speaking to the royal couple"

“We’ve been really busy. It’s stressful,” she said, before adding: “I can’t wait to go back and tell my colleagues how wonderful they think we are.”

More PR guff GrinGrinGrin

Prince William getting CV will do no one any good. He has protection officers. Why the hell should they and their families be put in danger?

why should doctors, nurses, teachers, the armee of volunteers put their lifes and that of their families in danger?

It's ok for a commoner nurse to contract Covid but not for William? Sorry, other than his accidental birth, what makes him special? Why is his life more precious to you than that of someone actually doing something?

Crazylately · 05/04/2020 11:36

Almost certainly an MP, you have the right combination of being incredibly patronising as well as over-familiar, also the self-congratulatory grins are such a giveaway.

Either that, or a little, grey man.

Clavinova · 05/04/2020 11:36

However, the properties owned by the Royals, which are not only enormous but often sitting empty, could house numerous homeless people.

Where would you store all the antiques in case they got damaged? Wouldn't they prefer a Premier Inn?

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2020 11:36

...and a (few? Or one) phone call. The reaction is PR good and outweighs their effort by a mile. The phrases sound a bit copy written though tbh.

BurneyFanny · 05/04/2020 11:37

Nursing aide Brenda Hadley, 49, said «bunch of bloody time wasting parasites, they can all fuck off». But we decided not to put that in the paper.

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2020 11:37

Lol Burney Grin made me laugh

Pelleas · 05/04/2020 11:38

And yet to a homeless person in the street during the pandemic, you with your comfortable house are as rich as the Queen with all her mansions is to you.

... and further to this, I couldn't give it away if I wanted to because it has a mortgage on it.

derxa · 05/04/2020 11:38

Why is his life more precious to you than that of someone actually doing something? It's not but he has his situation and we all have ours. His job at the moment is do no harm.

Exoffice · 05/04/2020 11:39

Prince William getting CV will do no one any good. He has protection officers. Why the hell should they and their families be put in danger?

also, getting Corona does nobody any good, ya know? Why don't we just close everything incl shops, hospitals? Hmm would you like that?

This argument is just so stupid, I don't know where to start.

audreysview · 05/04/2020 11:41

All I’m saying is don’t be a hypocrite. It’s the easiest thing in the world to tell other people to give away their possessions, yet somehow impossibly hard to part with your own...

What a truly ridiculous thing to say. The taxpayer funded queen living in her opulent grandeur being compared to the working masses. As for “telling other people to give away their possessions” , isn’t that what the rich do to us? Most of us only have one house, you think we shouldn’t expect the queen to give away some of her wealth, just because it’d be hypocritical because we aren’t doing the same with our one house?. There’s absolutely no comparison and you know it.

Crazylately · 05/04/2020 11:41

His job at the moment is do no harm.

Why is it, has he taken the Hippocratic oath?

BurneyFanny · 05/04/2020 11:43

I thought taxpayers had paid £162000 to train Prince William as an air ambulance pilot? I must be mistaken...

derxa · 05/04/2020 11:43

This argument is just so stupid, I don't know where to start. Grin
Can you imagine the logistics of getting Prince William out doing vital work? It would do more harm than good. What are you envisioning him doing? What you doing?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/04/2020 11:44

other than his accidental birth, what makes (William) special?

Playing devil's advocate here for a moment, I can kind of see why they'd want to keep William going when you consider who the alternatives to him would be - especially when there's every chance his reign may come sooner rather than later

As said, never underestimate the Windsors' capacity for self-preservation

BurneyFanny · 05/04/2020 11:44

Is his chèque writing hand out of action then?

LaurieMarlow · 05/04/2020 11:46

His job at the moment is do no harm.

But I look around me and I see so many doing good.

GAA clubs in Ireland have organised a network of home deliveries to get the vulnerable what they need.

My neighbours are making ‘ready meals’ for local health care workers.

I’ve seen school home economic classes sew up scrubs for healthcare workers.

Even the likes of Joe Wicks and Oti Mabusi are using their skills and reach to help kids through this tough time and keep them physically and mentally healthy.

And yet Wills, the publically funded ‘leader’ is apparently not able to do anything but sit on his arse. Give me a fucking break.

dairyfairies · 05/04/2020 11:46

She's 93. What else do you expect her to do?

she is the head of our state. if she cannot do anything beyond hiding and doing nothing, them she clearly is not fit for her role, is she?

She might not be able to do anything (beyond donating her waste wealth) but the the question gotta be - why do we accepts someone like that as our head of state if it is a 93 year granny unable to seemingly do anything to help.

LaurieMarlow · 05/04/2020 11:50

The Queen’s genuine, practical efforts to make a difference during the war is a big part of the respect she still evokes for many.

Why she could do that and Wills can’t do anything beyond make a phone call is beyond me.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/04/2020 11:50

"Emily Johnson, a hospital spokeswoman added, “It genuinely felt like they shared in our grief”

Emily's entitled to her view of course, but there's really no helping people like this
Or maybe the Academy should award Oscars for the RF's advanced acting skills ...

audreysview · 05/04/2020 11:51

I can imagine the people working in North Korean hospitals feeling the same after a phone call off Kim Jong Un telling them how grateful he is.

It’s called brainwashing.

But for all those excited people they’ll have been others thinking “oh just fuck right off”

Clavinova · 05/04/2020 11:52

I thought taxpayers had paid £162000 to train Prince William as an air ambulance pilot? I must be mistaken ...

Although he didn't take his salary when he was working as an air ambulance pilot.

derxa · 05/04/2020 11:53

Why she could do that and Wills can’t do anything beyond make a phone call is beyond me. Because we're in the middle of a pandemic.

BurneyFanny · 05/04/2020 11:54

He worked part time for under two years.
