Anyone think it's rather strange that Boris is still out of action and that, yet again, he's nowhere to be seen - a repeat of the election and the floods....

OP posts:
Angelw · 02/04/2020 20:44

Please give the man some space Angry. It’s not funny to ask silly questions at this present moment. We know he’s got COVID-19 and will resurface when he’s had the all clear.

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:45

Because the TV has been pushing the message that he has it very very mildly.

LilacTree1 · 02/04/2020 20:46

Oh, actually he has just posted a video of him clapping outside number 10. I guess his PR team predict the crazy OP types.

Who will now complain aboit his distance from the camera.

Wheresthebeach · 02/04/2020 20:46

You are being massively unreasonable, and either stunningly ignorant of current evens or goady. Either way it’s not on.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 02/04/2020 20:47

Seriously

The man has coronavirus. It varies wildly in how poorly ppl are.
DD on day 8. Can't get out of bed but getting better. Dizzy and struggling with cough and chest. She is 18 with no underlying conditions.

He is reasonably high risk. Have some compassion.

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:48

@Angelw Please don't tell us what we can talk about. We are not newspapers publishing stories. We are random people on a chat forum just posting our thoughts.

itsgettingweird · 02/04/2020 20:48

Matt Hancock looked pale but well.

I think I had it the other week and was really unwell for 4 days but then got better over next 3. Others start milder and it's after 7/8 days those who will possibly need hospital treatment get worse.

I agree he's shirked before. But right now he has a genuine sick note.

KTheGrey · 02/04/2020 20:48

Yes, the man who is supposed to be managing the limitation of Covid-19 didn't follow the experts' advice and now has Covid-19. I expect nobody told him Hmm

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:49

@mumsiedarlingrevolta Nobody has a lack of compassion. But if he died it would have a major impact on the country. So it is a serious issue.

HoffiCoffi13 · 02/04/2020 20:49

And as I’m sure you are aware alloutoffucks, people can have it initially mildly and then deteriorate. Which may or may not have happened to Boris, we don’t know. It’s all just speculation. Either way, I believe he was diagnosed 6 days ago so not out of isolation yet.

FunkyKingston · 02/04/2020 20:50

He is reasonably high risk. Have some compassion.

I wouldn't wish the virus on anyone, but to ask for compassion for Johnson...no.

He has been a leading member of a government that has dismantled the health and welfare provisions in this country, he is low down my list of candidates for empathy and compassion.

Lweji · 02/04/2020 20:50

Hes done more than most leaders have done to support our country.

Which "most leaders"?

user127819 · 02/04/2020 20:51

I think we will always be told "mild symptoms" until and unless he is admitted to hospital. That's the definition of mild with this disease. From yesterday's video, I imagine he's feeling quite ill and needs the rest. Some people have barely any symptoms, others are completely floored, even without needing hospital treatment. Some people also get rapidly worse after having mild symptoms.

Snowman123 · 02/04/2020 20:51

Come on give him a break. Until he got ill he faced the press for a lengthy period most days getting absolutely grilled over all aspects of his handling of CV.
Now theres cabinet members giving lengthy briefings every day.
Now he's obviously ill, but is still recording videos.
As someone above said I bet he had his PJ bottoms on. And I bet their stripy.

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:51

I do not support Boris as a politician, but I don't want anyone to die.

Bluntness100 · 02/04/2020 20:52

Bit of an odd thread, I’m surprised anyone is unaware that Boris has Covid and was self isolating, and clearly couldn’t be doing any form of live broadcast i there was a risk he’d be coughing his guts up or struggling to catch a breath, never mind the apparent fatigue that comes with the illness.

Kinda odd really.

480Widdio · 02/04/2020 20:53

He has just been on the doorstep of Number 10 clapping.

Some people just like creating drama, where there is none.

MooseBreath · 02/04/2020 20:53

I'm in agreement with most other posters. I can't stand Johnson and would never vote for him. However, he has Coronavirus and is in no condition to be working right now.

myrtleWilson · 02/04/2020 20:53

6 days ago he reported that he was positive and that he had a very mild case. If it was very mild he should be better and able to come out of isolation after a week. So either we are being lied to and he is more ill than is being said, or he is a lazy sod and hiding

What happens with corona is by day 6/7 people either start to get better, or they get much worse, If they get much worse they are at a real risk of being hospitalised and dying. Is that what you are saying is happening to Boris? He is at risk of dying from the virus?

All I've read is that the tricky days are 8-11 rather than 6/7 - can you share your source @alloutoffucks that it is 6/7? So it is perfectly conceivable he's taken a downturn. There are oodles of threads and posters on here who report seeming recovery and then dips - why you think this wouldn't happen to the PM is a mystery....

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:55

I know that medically mild can mean up to pneumonia. Which is why we keep getting told everyone has it very very mildly.

@Snowman123 Why would I feel sorry for him facing the press? He is the Prime Minister, that comes with the job in a democracy. That is like saying I should feel sorry for him for facing hard questions in the Houses of Parliament. Don't go for the job if you can't take the reality.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 02/04/2020 20:55

You are a goady, nasty idiot.

HTH.

Samtsirch · 02/04/2020 20:56

To be fair, Boris does have a lot of letters to write at the moment.........
It’s going to take him ages🙂

ChainsawBear · 02/04/2020 20:56

There will be a detailed plan for if he were to die, and will have been from the moment he took the office. PMs can suffer heart attacks (especially since they tend to be older men) or be in car accidents like anyone. I imagine he has handed over some duties at present and retains some, as he is still the leader of the Government and has ultimate responsibility.

HoffiCoffi13 · 02/04/2020 20:57

i know that medically mild can mean up to pneumonia. Which is why we keep getting told everyone has it very very mildly

So why are you surprised that he’s potentially too unwell to be working to full capacity, if you’re aware real ‘mild’ can mean pneumonia? I don’t get what point you’re trying to make.

alloutoffucks · 02/04/2020 20:57

@myrtleWilson No source, that is what I thought. But he would have had it longer than 6 days anyway. He had symptoms then decided to get tested. 6 days ago is when he tested positive, not when he had the first symptoms. We don't know when he first had symptoms.
