Boris MIA again?

Anyone think it's rather strange that Boris is still out of action and that, yet again, he's nowhere to be seen - a repeat of the election and the floods....

It would be rather an elaborate lie - his partner has had to move out, presumably the machinery of Downing St has had to change the way it works - or are they all in on the conspiracy theory lie too?

HoffiCoffi13 · 03/04/2020 15:20

Also, people will have been involved in the testing. He was tested on the advice of Chris Whitty I believe, as he was suffering milf symptoms. NHS staff attended 10 Downing Street to conduct the test. The test was then taken to a lab, and the result given to him.
Do you think he hired actors for all that?
Also, based on the fact that he is constantly surrounded by people, was almost certainly not practicing social distancing, and many of those people have also tested positive, surely it would he more suspect if he didn’t have the highly contagious virus that he was in contact with?

ChainsawBear · 03/04/2020 15:22

*But if he was pretending, how would you ever find out he was lying?"

Oh, here we go.

For one thing, a huge number of people would be implicated in the lie. He's the PM not a private citizen; every minute of his day is scheduled and known and managed by a large group of people. If he had just decided to pretend he'd had a Covid test, the teams around him would all know he hadn't been tested; if he had a test but it was negative, the lab, his physician, etc would all know; how exactly would he convince them to lie? He'd be rumbled and it would be a huge scandal. He hasn't exactly benefited politically or personally from being known to have it.

I do not like the man personally or politically, at all. But the idea that he's lying about having Covid is just stupid.

myrtleWilson · 03/04/2020 15:22

Sorry hoffi - am Grin at milf symptoms that Chris Whitty has had - how do they manifest themselves?

ChainsawBear · 03/04/2020 15:24

Grin oh please don't make me laugh, it hurts my poor sick chest Grin

HoffiCoffi13 · 03/04/2020 15:25

Grin sorry!

happinessischocolate · 03/04/2020 15:34

Milf 😂😂😂

Why would he pretend?

Because he can't hide in the fridge again 😁

I didn't think he looked or sounded that different, lost a bit of weight maybe but not as bad as I was expecting from what people said.

The man is a known and proven liar, and shouldn't be surprised if not everyone believes anything he says

Why did NHS staff have to do his test? Surely he has private healthcare? Or was he just proving he's one of us, those NHS staff probably haven't even been tested themselves

HoffiCoffi13 · 03/04/2020 15:35

I don’t know why they did the test, just that it was reported that they did.

happinessischocolate · 03/04/2020 15:39

I don't think it would be a good PR move for Johnson to pretend to have coronavirus, because we, the British people, are not that nice.

😂

Oh c'mon we're not that bad, some countries don't even have a royal family anymore 👀

ChainsawBear · 03/04/2020 15:42

Lying would be an enormous risk, with little upside and a virtual guarantee of exposure at some point, which would see him hounded out of politics for good. It makes no sense. Nobody, not even someone lazy, is going to virtually guarantee ending their career in shame and ignominy just so they can dodge some of the work of managing a crisis.

HoffiCoffi13 · 03/04/2020 15:43

What exactly would the upsides be of lying about it?

CendrillonSings · 03/04/2020 15:48

alloutoffucks

Not even convinced he actually has corona.

You love these mindless conspiracy theories don’t you? Are you the one who bought up all the tin foil from Asda?

PotholeParadise · 03/04/2020 15:58

Oh c'mon we're not that bad, some countries don't even have a royal family anymore

You think?

Let's say he's making it up. What would he get out of it? He would get hundreds of thousands of people saying 'serve him right!'

When he came through it successfully (due to it having been made up), he would then get hundreds of thousands of people speculating on what treatment he had received that the ordinary public's vulnerable relatives hadn't been entitled to.

And then, some time in the next six months, he would get it for real and have to cover that up!

itsgettingweird · 03/04/2020 16:07

He's clearly still very unwell. He's just done a video broadcast on bbc 1.

DarnedSocks · 03/04/2020 16:09

It would be more suspicious if he hadn't caught it. It's all over London and they're packed in like sardines in parliament. I'm surprised Corbyn's managed to avoid it. Unless, if we want conspiracy theories, he has had it and we weren't told. I don't necessarily think that but it's more plausible than Boris pretending to have it.

Sarahlou63 · 03/04/2020 16:49

And yet here you are, 25 years after leaving the UK, permenent resident somewhere else and still obsessing over British politics

Ha! If you think I'm obsessing about British politics you should stand well back when I get started on Trump!! Grin

I just watched his broadcast via twitter. He didn't manage to get a single Latin tag in.

He must be gravely ill.

😂😂

rosiethehen · 03/04/2020 19:18

He's in one of the biggest risk groups. Middle aged, obese men with - probable - high blood pressure. The stress he's been under will also have exacerbated any blood pressure issues he may have.

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 03/04/2020 19:21

If anything I think he’s iller than he’s letting on.

happinessischocolate · 03/04/2020 21:07

If anything I think he’s iller than he’s letting on.

How come? He didn't cough once during the broadcast or even have to stop to breathe despite waffling away. Didnt even look like he had even normal flu let alone covid

Namechangervaver · 03/04/2020 21:24

Middle aged men aren't a high risk group, and you have no idea if he has high BP or not.

Namechangervaver · 03/04/2020 21:25

Ok, he's probably obese, but I wouldn't think his BMI is 40

YangShanPo · 03/04/2020 21:29

He does look ill, but he's a survivor of ever there was one.
