AIBU?

to suggest that newcomers to this site should stop farkin' whining

gawd .. we all have children you know, I think our ability to deal with whinging is used up there

I can think of a number of 'newcomers' who hit the ground running and almost immediately gained 'oldie' status .. Boco and LittleLapin immediately spring to mind but I know there are more

They came on the site articulate, intelligent, empathetic, amusing and slightly sarcastic

that's what mn is about

we don't tend to be tabloid

either you like it here or you don't .. but you're adults .. grow up and join in and quit farkin' whinging

there is a certain egocentricity in play here that is somewhat admirable in a way

I'm doing really well today. I have wanted to tell someone to 'eat shit and choke' and I didn't so pat on the back for me and a big hug thank you

tiptoes in to see what's happening. Sees a test and whines about not being good at tests, it's all too much pressure not fair.

Stamps foot.

Oh Haychee - I don't think anyone actually sets out to pick on you. You just provoke everyone too much!

You're asking for a truce but in such a hostile way.

You just don't seem to get MN really - which is what this thread is (really) all about.

I don't care if I'm an oldie or a newbie, all I know is that I feel at home here (not under the table MB!), have had some good laughs, cried on the odd occasion and had some really, really useful advice.

Not unreasonable perhaps, but very rude.

Tsk!

We were all newbies once (or some such stifling platitude)

Apologies Lulumama - was very norty to delete you for being barftastic.
Am feeling slightly lightheaded - is it a full moon?

(ps Twiglett made us do it, honest)

haychee I must admit I see you being very happy on www.parentslounge.co.uk

I reeled when realising you are 34 and was unsurprised at your inclusion of pictures in your profile.

Are you perhaps a masochist?

It's put it at pretty much evens between newbies and oldies for bleating, whining, flouncing, talking shite and telling each other to GET ORF MOI THREAAAAAD! if you don't like it. But it's usually fun to watch. And when it's not there are other sites to go and laugh at people on.

I've sused it. HE is a stool pigeon sent from that jealous lot over at NM to provoke us all into joinging their forums instead because things have turned into such a scrap here.

Yess!

Did someone mention parentslounge? Used to go there many moons ago. And before that when it was another site and there was a split and it became 2 who sniped at each other. And before that when lots of people went off in a huff to a buzzy place and then some came back. You could have tickers there and there were loads of emoticons incl huggy ones...ahhhhh.....
