So Disappointed in Gordon Ramsey

Just heard the he has laid off all his 500 staff in the uk !! He has paid them until the end of April!! Why could he just not put them In forlough for 80 % of there wages which will be paid by the government. We don’t know how long this will last , people need to have hope that they have a job to go back to when this madness ends.

I really thought the Gordon was better then this !! Just so so disappointed in him!!

Maybe CV has tipped his business into administration? I fail to see how you can be disappointed in anyone until you know the full facts.

Angelw · 29/03/2020 05:27

I agree@cornishdreams1

Italiangreyhound · 29/03/2020 05:43

YANBU. If he has made loads of people redundant that is awful as I believe he is very rich.

4amWitchingHour · 29/03/2020 05:46

He's always seemed like a twat, so I can't say I'm surprised. Someone who's comfortable being so abrasive and frankly bullying on tv can't be that nice a person.

Nanalisa60 · 29/03/2020 05:48

Yep reported to be worth about 48 million!!
So he won’t be worrying about paying his rent or feeding his family at the end of May!!
Unlike his 500 staff
As I said disappointed!!

Ever consider he wasnt doing as well as projected and this is his way of shutting up shop with no hoopla - it was coronas fault

Raffathebear · 29/03/2020 06:00

Theres more to it.

Henrysmycat · 29/03/2020 06:02

You know this thread will be removed after request from his PR team in less than 24 hours.
Every thread that talks about how awful he is, his nepotism or how his wife puts up with his crap and infidelities gets pulled down in less that 24 hours.
But he’s abhorrent and his restaurants were terrible.

DateAndWalnuts · 29/03/2020 06:05

Everything that Henrysmycat has said 👏👏👏

That sucks. Posting to see ban message.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 29/03/2020 06:22

How so? @Raffathebear

MangoFeverDream · 29/03/2020 06:23

Wow how litigious!

Actionhasmagic · 29/03/2020 06:23

It’s devastating for the families but Gordon’s okay in his mansion making tiktoks with his kids

LockdownLonely · 29/03/2020 06:25

He is not a nice man.

Taddda · 29/03/2020 06:35

He did however move straight into his 'holiday home' and had the pool cleaners in....

We were talking about this yesterday. He sent all his staff an email saying they were obviously closing the restaurants for now and how 'We are all in this together'....then the next day he sacked them.

500 staff, for a man that is worth 50 million, that would also get the 80% wage coverage for them from the government....

Yes, appalling!

FrivolousPancake · 29/03/2020 06:38

I didn’t realIze threads about him were pulled?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 29/03/2020 06:38

He isn't a charity - I expect there were a lot of restaurants that were on the brink and clinging on prior to this; & guess what? the economy isn't going to bounce back quickly & see tons of fully booked restaurants after this.
The gov't. changing insolvency laws doesn't make it imperative for every business carrying on if the owners do not see a viable future,

SpeckledyHen · 29/03/2020 06:42

He knows darn well that when he starts up again people will be queuing up to work for him despite his personality. It will be good on their CV .

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 29/03/2020 06:51

On the face of it, it seems harsh but no one knows what is going on behind the scenes.

Aquicknamechange2019 · 29/03/2020 06:54

He's not the only one. Rick Stein has done exactly the same.

TedsFederationRep · 29/03/2020 06:55

Unless the thread is pulled in which case, I definitely want to see the deletion message.

PersilOrAriel · 29/03/2020 06:55

Did you see him on Saturday Night Takeaway last night? I know it was a clip from a while back, but what an attitude he has, obviously not just for the cameras.

LellyMcKelly · 29/03/2020 06:58

He’s always been a knob. I don’t know why this comes as a surprise.

SciFiScream · 29/03/2020 06:58

I wonder how he founds out about threads? Within 24 hours? That's impressive.

Knocksomesense · 29/03/2020 06:59

So many economic casualties
