Is anyone else struggling to see the point when we aren’t going anywhere? Tried going for a walk but I still just put comfies on. Am I grim?

god people are so ridiculous. A week without a shower for a person who's not even exercising is not that disgusting.

CalleighDoodle · 22/03/2020 18:44

The people around you will smell you before you smell yourself.

Ninkanink · 22/03/2020 18:45

Yes, please note I said that’s grim, not you’re grim. You’re probably just feeling a little lost, maybe a little worried or aimless without anywhere to be.

A gentle routine is what you need (aim for a few tasks a day - something productive, something fun, something relaxing, something to get you moving). This will help you to feel good, and nourish your mind, soul and body.

theswordthatdangles · 22/03/2020 18:46

If you live in a house share and your flatmates are going out and about, not showering may be risky. At least if you are having a regular shower you are reducing the risk of transmission by washing germs away.

Whether it will help or not I don't know, but my dc have to go to school and the school have asked them to have a shower when they return home and clean clothes every day. It's a small ask to reduce the risks when they are with lots of people.

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2020 18:46

Eww. I’d have to be ill enough to be in hospital to not shower for a week.

PinkiOcelot · 22/03/2020 18:46

Urghhhhh my God. Why not?!

TheFaerieQueene · 22/03/2020 18:46

A shower takes a few minutes. Why wouldn’t you do this every day? I don’t get it, I would feel unbearably uncomfortable without at least one shower a day.

Ninkanink · 22/03/2020 18:46

(Plus a bath or shower at least every couple of days, of course!)

have you been washing?!

Mummyoflittledragon · 22/03/2020 18:47

You are supposed to wash the outside off to reduce coronavirus. Face wash included 1/4 inch up your nose.

Justmuddlingalong · 22/03/2020 18:48

I think lack of personal hygiene is a slippery slope. The less you do, the less you feel like doing, so even if your normal routine has gone out of the window, make a new routine. Self care should be top of your list.

Funkytowns · 22/03/2020 18:48

That is awful and I can guarantee your housemates have noticed.

AbsentmindedWoman · 22/03/2020 18:48

Take a shower, you will almost certainly feel better.

Are you brushing your teeth? Washing face and essential parts at all? Or just completely not bothering?

mbosnz · 22/03/2020 18:52

Hanging on to some semblance of routine is so important. I know how it is to feel 'what's the point, it's too much effort, and after all, so what'? But you will feel better if you shower. And do thy teeth. And brush your hair. (Am I sounding like your mother?! Have you made your bed? Grin)

AbsentmindedWoman · 22/03/2020 18:52

god people are so ridiculous. A week without a shower for a person who's not even exercising is not that disgusting.

It is unusual for a lot of people. It points towards neglecting yourself.

irregularegular · 22/03/2020 18:52

Are you OK OP? I'd always feel better for a shower etc even if just staying in alone. Plus keeping regular routines etc. can be helpful when things are harder than usual.

Irial · 22/03/2020 18:52

i'm normally an every dayer except for the weekends, when i miss a day. I will be every other day from now on until this shit show ends

I am WFH but have dc home from school, and DH, but we are all going to get up at 730 and bed by 10 to keep some normality

Costacoffeeplease · 22/03/2020 18:54

Do you really need to ask?

TheWordmeister · 22/03/2020 18:54

Of course it’s rank. Are you feeling depressed OP?

Isadora2007 · 22/03/2020 18:55

It’s important for health as well- especially at this time you don’t want an untreated thrush or skin infection from neglecting your hygiene.

Purplecatshopaholic · 22/03/2020 18:55

Yuck. Sorry! I am still putting on a bit of makeup, doing my hair etc. Not showering, kicking about in increasingly minging leggings is a slippery slope to mental ill health - for me at least

Shoxfordian · 22/03/2020 18:56

Yeah it's gross
I expect you do smell, even if you can't smell yourself op

SunshineAvenue · 22/03/2020 18:57

But don't you feel grubby? No reason to get dressed up but for God's sake have a wash.

Rabblemum · 22/03/2020 18:58

Please wash, it will make you feel better. You wash for yourself and to be healthy not just for everyone else.

I’m in my dressing gown until obscene times now, it changes tomorrow.

SirGawain · 22/03/2020 18:58

Soap and water will help to keep you healthy in mind and body.
You sound clinically depressed. Please do get medical help.
