Is anyone else struggling to see the point when we aren’t going anywhere? Tried going for a walk but I still just put comfies on. Am I grim?

OP posts:
Kezzywezzy · 22/03/2020 19:48

I get it. I’m feeling a bit “What’s the point?” about the strangest of things. I think we’re just adapting at the moment. We’ll get our mojo back. X

LonginesPrime · 22/03/2020 19:50

You'll feel so much better if you have a shower, OP - you'll feel fresher and it will instantly give you a boost.

I know it doesn't feel like it will help now, but just humour me and try it!

If1knewiwouldnotbehere · 22/03/2020 19:51

@IAmFleshIAmBone
You're right I am being harsh.

BillieEilish · 22/03/2020 19:51

I agree Kezzy

Wait till you go into proper lockdown and are only able to go out solo for food and stand 2 metres apart. You start to think there is no point. Grin

NurseButtercup · 22/03/2020 19:51

@pinkOnWednesday

Are you ok?

Lifesnotapicnic · 22/03/2020 19:59

I couldn't do it, love clean feeling plus if anything il be in bath more for something to pass time 😂

Beautiful3 · 22/03/2020 20:00

Neglecting personal hygiene, is a classic sign of depression. Please take time to wash yourself, every morning. It will make you feel better.

Chillicheese123 · 22/03/2020 20:02

Are you at least washing your hands and face ? Do you not feel greasy ?
Also wash your bum or use a wet wipe Envy (not envy)

CamillaBeauchamp · 22/03/2020 20:03

That is really grim. Staying inside does not equal poor hygiene

catwithnohat · 22/03/2020 20:03

You mightn't think you smell but.....

Do it - you'll feel so much better - really!

adaline · 22/03/2020 20:04

Sorry OP, but that is pretty unpleasant.

I've not left the house in a week because I've been in isolation. I've still woken up and showered everyday.

ItsAllTheDramaMickIJustLoveIt · 22/03/2020 20:05

Sounds like the onset of depression to be honest. I don’t blame you, I feel that way. You’ll feel worse, depression or otherwise, if you don’t wash though. So hard to climb out of that hole when you’re in it.

Vulpine · 22/03/2020 20:05

I'm not depressed and am very happy to skip normal washing routines whilst I self isolate and look after my sick family. I've got bigger fish to fry

BlueMoon1103 · 22/03/2020 20:06

OP I don’t mean to be patronising but are you okay? Not having motivation to wash can be a sign of mental health decline, in particular, depression. It’s so hard at the moment and my own MH has gone absolutely downhill so you have all my sympathy Flowers

BilboBercow · 22/03/2020 20:14

It's not normal not to was for a week op. How are you feeling otherwise? Can you not see the point in doing anything? Are you able to take joy in anything? It does sound like you may be struggling with your mental health a bit.

Stuckupsnob · 22/03/2020 20:16

Aren’t you feeling sticky ? This is definitely not the time to let yourself go ! Your mental health will deteriorate. Now is the time to shower, and look reasonable every day. If you don’t want to faff around with makeup then fine, but a minimum Amount and a squirt of perfume will keep you pepped up.

Northernsoullover · 22/03/2020 20:17

I have been tempted not to bother too. I am showering less and later. My wardrobe has gone downhill though. Try though as you will definitely feel better for it.

lowlandLucky · 22/03/2020 20:17

OP i knowhow easy it is to wallow but dont allow yourself to go there. Write a daily timetable and stick to it, include a set time to get out of bed, shower, read etc, you will feel much better for it. Only allow yourself to watch one news bulletin in the morning and one at night.Flowers

RedRed9 · 22/03/2020 20:20

@PinkOnWednesday have you got a bath? Can you watch something on your phone while in the bath?

Frankiecandle · 22/03/2020 20:22

Fucking hell. MN really is full of cunts just lately.

OP I can understand the feeling of what's the point. Be kind to yourself and get the fuck off MN. It's toxic atm.

voddiekeepsmesane · 22/03/2020 20:26

Not taking care of yourself will just add to MH issues. We all need to take care of ourselves both physically and mentally ATM. This means making sure we stick to some sort of routine even if socially distancing/ self isolating, including hygiene.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 22/03/2020 20:26

It's a tempting little trap to fall into, isn't it? But don't.

Shower and put on fresh clothes even if they are just comfies. Keep your living area tidy. Change your bedding regularly.

It's really important to look after yourself right now.

MoonlightMistletoe · 22/03/2020 20:27

OP, are you looking for motivation to get into the shower? Honestly you will feel so much better after having a shower, put on some clean clothes and then relax.

I've been waking up miserable with the what's the point attitude but after a cuppa and a shower I feel much better about things and motivated to clean and tidy the rest of the place.

Clean surroundings , cleaner mind Thanks

Vulpine · 22/03/2020 20:28

What a load of patronising twaddle some of these answers are
