Is anyone else struggling to see the point when we aren’t going anywhere? Tried going for a walk but I still just put comfies on. Am I grim?

OP posts:

@buyingahome - lots of us on Mumsnet don't have kids and are young. It's a fun forum with lots of people from different walks of life. You don't need to have kids to be interested in AIBU or style and beauty...

1976Bo · 22/03/2020 21:53

One of the most important things in a pandemic situation is to keep clean. You have a social responsibility.

BuyingaHome · 22/03/2020 21:59

@CorianderLord WOW... really?! That's sad.

I had a life before kids. I purely use this for amusement during the hours of breastfeeding I do!!!

Lolwhat · 22/03/2020 22:00

Absolutely vile

roarfeckingroar · 22/03/2020 22:01

That's really nasty. Poor flat mates.

Happymum12345 · 22/03/2020 22:03

I've just come home from spending over a week asleep in intensive care (not covid 19 related) & was given baths whilst unconscious. I am now obsessed with washing in case I end up back there. Being clean seems to be very high on hospital agendas. Please wash for everyone's sake!

Cunninglittlevixen · 22/03/2020 22:03

1976 - haven't read that piece of advice Hmm

BunnytheBee · 22/03/2020 22:04

That’s a bit nasty @BuyingaHome Just because someone is on Mumsnet and doesn’t have a child doesnt mean they don’t have a life

They could be browsing while on the train or on the loo!

EmeraldShamrock · 22/03/2020 22:05

Yes but not a week, over 24 hours which isn't like me, my eyebrows and chin hair were sprouting. Grin I opened your thread earlier it inspired me to get scrubbed.
DC are off school since the 12th, the coronavirus, no job and lack of routine is getting me down but I feel better now.
A week really is to long.

LambriniSocialist · 22/03/2020 22:08

I am self isolating at the moment and didn't shower this morning and am refusing to wear anything but the shittiest slobbiest clothes at the back of my wardrobe!

A week is a bit much though...

FireandFury · 22/03/2020 22:12

I hope you’re ok OP. Showering and freshening up every day will make you feel better. Please check in if you want to talk.

Hope into the shower. You will feel better. And so will anyone else in close vicinity 😊

cavabiensepasser · 22/03/2020 22:57

This apparent aversion to soap and water that I always see from some MNetters on threads like this is very... disturbing.

No wonder public transport is so painful to use.

Lockheart · 22/03/2020 23:05

@Sistersis the only person who's time was wasted writing that reply was yours. Replying isn't obligatory.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 22/03/2020 23:06

Well best I get myself gone then @BuyingaHome

I never got to be a mum because my babies died. I come here for the company.

Well done you for having a life.

Sistersis · 22/03/2020 23:08

Clearly @Lockheart you seem to agree with not showering for weeks on end as well then...

Lockheart · 22/03/2020 23:11

@Sistersis I neither agree nor disagree with it - other people's bathing routines are no business of mine.

But there's no point writing a post and then complaining that the OP is the one wasting your time...

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 22/03/2020 23:11

I've reported your post sistersis as your comment is just plain nasty and really not in the spirit of mumsnet. I guess the only sisterly thing about you is your name.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 22/03/2020 23:13

Have you considered that the OP might be struggling? Of course it isn’t ideal but nastiness won’t help.

Sistersis · 22/03/2020 23:19

How can someone struggle to wash unless there is a physical reason for not doing so. And unless there's no running water, soap etc in struggling to understand this first world problem OP is having here.

You literally gave a disease that advanced economies are struggling to control and are constantly telling people to wash their hands, can you even fathom this this thing spreading in places that do not have the same level of facilities?

And op is here saying they have not washed! Seriously!?!?

Rubyupbeat · 22/03/2020 23:19

I did the same up until a few days ago, felt so low and why bother? But then I got up one day and thought I really must do this, I showered, clean clothes and it did me the world of good, it really makes a difference.
Give it a try, I know how you feel, but this will give you a small boost.

billy1966 · 22/03/2020 23:25

OP, couldn't read all the pages but clearly you feel overwhelmed by everything.

Thats really ok.

Take a deep breath and have that shower...it wont change anything but hopefully feeling fresher will make you feel a bit more alive.

Don't beat yourself up....these are very difficult trying, and overwhelming times for a lot of people.

Not taking a shower truly isn't the worst crime ever.

Be kind to yourself OP.

Jenasaurus · 22/03/2020 23:29

on a similar thing, I ordered new underwear in case I end up in hospital, my old underwear has seen better days, isnt it weird what goes through our head at times like this

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 23/03/2020 00:16

Doreen I'm so sorry for your terrible losses.
Pay no mind to gobshites talking bollocks.

For what it's worth, I quite often frequent YourHorse despite not actually having sat on one in over 30 years.
Ditto my love of caravan and RV websites. I don't drive and never will.

Lastly, I know who i'd rather be chatting to on here Wink
