Can be from theme parks in the uk or in another country or local fair ground rides or any others.

Mine was this:

Not that I checked but if I didn’t end up with even the tiniest bit of involuntary piss in my pants after this, I would be very surprised. It’s the closest I have ever felt like thinking that I was in so much danger I could actually die 😰

Space Mountain at Disneyworld. I loathed it. I did really enjoy the Mission Space, Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster though. I hate rollercoasters normally and can't do any of the Universal ones.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 21/03/2020 14:18

I am a total wuss, but I love Oblivion at Alton Towers and Rush at Thorpe Park.

Enterprise at AT was awful - I hate going upside down, had my eyes shut and bloody DS2 started reciting up, up, up, upside down....

I didn't really enjoy Rita either. Launch was fine but the chucking about afterwards was awful

Ginseng1 · 21/03/2020 14:20

Tower of terror at DLP. I hate the feeling of dropping straight down more than anything. Am not a fan anyway of rides but I actually loved ratatouille at DLP.

QuestionableMouse · 21/03/2020 14:25

A spinny octopus thing at the carnival in Hartlepool. It had no seat belts, just a shitty bar.

Kinda like this but it was much taller i2-prod.dailypost.co.uk/incoming/article16141227.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_A-fairground-on-Bastion-Gardens-in-Prestatyn-On-Tuesday-evening-one-of-the-attractions-allegedly-su.jpg

Well we went up and my cart was tilted down and forwards (so I was facing the ground, probably 20ft down)

I was convinced that I was going to fall out. The bar kept unlocking and I was literally hanging on to the back of the seat.

Luckily one of the workers saw what was going on and brought me down because I'm convinced I'd have been killed if I'd actually tried to ride the damn thing.

Thirteen at Alton Towers. I hadn’t been to Alton Towers for about a decade when my 6yo begged me to take him last year. He’s fairly tall but not big enough for Oblivion et al so assumed the ones he was big enough for would be considerably gentler. It was the first ride we went on, ds was physically shaking for about an hour afterwards and I felt like the worlds worst mum. He refused to go on any more rides and just kept saying ‘why did you make me do that?’. I’d got confused and thought Thirteen was the one that’s like an interactive walk through ghost story with a swingy room ride at the end Blush

Badtasteflump · 21/03/2020 14:26

My scariest looks so tame but was horrible, in a 'this is actually not safe and I'm going to fall off and die' way. It was the Steeplechase at Blackpool. You sit on a horse with a flimsy loose strap (not) holding you on, then you gallop around a track going up and down around one of the roller coasters there. It was really uncomfortable, slippery, rattly and I kept feeling like I was going to slip off and fall down the drops. Really horrible and can't understand how it passes safety tests nowadays.

SecretWitch · 21/03/2020 14:27

Mission Space. Was told before getting on the ride not to close your eyes but to focus on one point. I knew thirty seconds into the experience that I was going to be sick. Closed my eyes for the rest of ride. I got outside and was so dizzy I fell down and cut my knee. I spent the rest of the day in a dark hotel room with a migraine headache.

SocksForceFive · 21/03/2020 14:31

Omg I came on to say the Brighton Pier one too - my life flashed before my eyes!

Myneighboursnorlax · 21/03/2020 14:38

The scariest ride I’ve ever been on was in Spain. I don’t remember the name of it, but it was where the bars come over your shoulders and lock in place. Except mine didn’t lock in place... and no one came to check like they do in the UK. The coaster started pulling out of the station and my harness was literally still lifting above my head. It was a ride with a lot of loops so I made a split second decision to try and leap out of my seat before it was too late. Except just as I went to throw myself to the ground, the bar locked into place. I was terrified the whole time that it would come undone again. I can still feel that sick feeling in my stomach now when remembering it. I was only about 13 and on the ride on my own too.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/03/2020 14:43

Baron 1898 at Efteling

I hadn't been to a theme park since I was 12 or 13, so hadn't done any big rides. I did the Python, which has loops and corkscrews and loved it, but the drop on the Baron terrified me, I was sure I was going to fall through the shoulder straps.

I also panicked and shrieked on Vogel Rok (an indoor dark coaster) but I'm blaming the friend I was with for that. He said because it was only a lap bar it wouldn't be that fast or tip much. Spoiler: it was, it did, it was pitch black and I hated it.

MrsApplepants · 21/03/2020 14:46

Falcons Fury at Busch Gardens Florida. I love hardcore rides but this one made me feel a bit weak.

BettyIsMyFavouriteSquirrel · 21/03/2020 14:53

The one at Alton Towers that is like a ghost train, you get half way round and it comes to a brick wall then the whole train drops suddenly to a track below and goes backwards.

Karmagoat · 21/03/2020 14:55

The X-scream in Vegas, it hangs you over the side of the top of the Stratosphere. Absolutely shit myself Grin

Boopeedoop · 21/03/2020 15:01

The rattler, Fiesta Texas, USA before it was a six flags theme park. It was the longest tallest fastest wooden coaster in the world at the time. I came off with whiplash. Think they had a fair few lawsuits because of injuries.

blancheduboiss · 21/03/2020 15:09

I’d also say Apocalypse at Drayton Manor. Now, I love rollercoasters, and Saw at Thorpe Park is my favourite, but I hated this one! It just takes you up and up and up and then you just drop down with no warning. Horrible. I felt like i was going to barf my lungs out.

NeutralJanet · 21/03/2020 15:25

I got a migraine from Mission Space too, I went off back to the hotel to lie down and DH and DD appeared half an hour later as he had let her ride it a second time since there was no queue and she vomited everywhere Hmm.

OutOntheTilez · 21/03/2020 15:38

I met my match on the Batwing at Six Flags America in Maryland, USA. You're strapped in with a very heavy leather harness and off you go. On this ride you're either lying on your back looking at the sky or flipped over and staring at the ground. This is not a sitdown coaster.

When I was on my stomach gravity was pulling me downwards and the leather harness naturally had to give a bit. Absolutely no danger of the harness loosening and me falling out, but the feeling that I could was unnerving - plus I'm a bit claustrophobic so when I was on my back I felt crushed by the thing.

I got off and wobbled to a bench and had to sit down with my head in my hands for 10 minutes. I told my kids to knock me upside the head if I ever said I wanted to go on anything like that again.

PenOrPencil · 21/03/2020 15:51

My loving family who know J don’t really do rides took me in the 13 in Alton Towers. No craziness to see from the outside, all a bit of good fun. Until the “twist” (no spoilers). I was terrified and my legs were like jelly afterwards.

NastyOldBag · 21/03/2020 15:54

penorpencil that’s the one I traumatised my 6yo on

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 21/03/2020 16:02

The Tower of Terror at Disneyland in California and The Big One at the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool. Have never tried The Steeplechase. Am far too chicken for that!

SoupDragon · 21/03/2020 16:21

What on Earth have we become that we do these things for fun? 😂😂

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 21/03/2020 16:26

I’m a big feartie. I swear to God I was going to die on the log flume at Alton Towers a few years ago!

Abelino · 21/03/2020 16:28

Falcon's Fury at Busch Gardens! I love drop rides but it was an ordeal (not helped by true face that the woman next to me screamed "we're going to die! We're going to die!" all the way up.

PiggyPlumPie · 21/03/2020 16:39

OMG yes to Shambala at Portaventura! Did not feel secure.

Went on the rickety wooden one in Busch Gardens with a migraine. Thought I was going to die. Really should have given up for thee day but you keep going for the kids! Cheetah was fun too - not.

chipsandpeas · 21/03/2020 16:51

tower of terror for me
