Can be from theme parks in the uk or in another country or local fair ground rides or any others.

Mine was this:

Not that I checked but if I didn’t end up with even the tiniest bit of involuntary piss in my pants after this, I would be very surprised. It’s the closest I have ever felt like thinking that I was in so much danger I could actually die 😰

I've been on many coasters stratosphere in LV all Thorpe Park, BG etc but heck....I did a thread last year about Blackpool PBShock

Had a great day but wow, some of those old rides I thought would be my last as they are beyond rickety

The Grand National was utterly terrifyingly rustic....

ChippyMinton · 21/03/2020 09:54

Hulk at Universal Florida - I was thoroughly disoriented and wobbly for the rest of the day. The DC went straight back on it, then DD did the rip ride rokit by herself.

The actual coasters are better than the virtual reality ones though. And I nearly puked in the Ratatouille ride as Disneyland Paris.

BritishHorrorStory · 21/03/2020 10:01

Has anyone ever been on one of those slingshot rides? They look terrifying but more importantly there are so many videos of people literally passing out unconscious from the sheer force of them.

Some colleagues went on one In the States. It was really high. I could barely watch.

Always think it's random how you find them in certain Places just on their own, not part of a theme park etc. Just a random 'attraction' on the roadside

notchickenagain · 21/03/2020 10:18

Worst, from another angle, was Duinrell Park in The Netherlands. For the 'tamer' rides aimed at children, no seatbelts, no doors or safety chains, people getting on and off while rides still moving, no time-spacing between eg toboggan cars, flumes etc. This was a few years ago, hopefully they've upped their game by now!

Coronavirus

Angelnix · 21/03/2020 10:25

I wasn't a fan of The Haunting at Drayton Manor. I don't mind most rides, but the ending part of this made me feel so unwell for the rest of the day.

LambriniSocialist · 21/03/2020 10:28

Mine was X at Six Flags in California. It wasn't that 'scary' as such, it was just that you had absolutely no idea where you were or what was going on for the whole ride so its was just so disorientating.

I was in Vegas with some friends who will go on pretty much any ride, but we all chickened out of those 2 rides that hang you over the edge of the Stratosphere tower! Shock

Also, not a ride as such, but we did the toboggan run in Rotorua in New Zealand and it was just so scary!!!

jackparlabane · 21/03/2020 10:30

Probably the Mary Rose at Dreamland Margate - the restraints often didn't shut properly so you felt you were hanging on for dear life.

I used to love a Norwegian theme park when it opened (very cheap so went a lot). The roller coaster had no restraints, just a rail to hold and big sign saying do not climb out or stand up. And a toboggan ride down the mountain, signs saying slow down on corners - no-one did. It got icy sometimes.
Both brilliant until idiots started trying to climb along the coaster cars and push people out, or join in pairs to get out of control on the toboggan run. Then a couple people died so I stopped going.

Since various news stories over the last decade, I've avoided rides.

The Bobs roller coaster at Belle Vue in Manchester back in the sixties. It was incredibly high. Years earlier a teenage boy reached the top, got out of his seat and stood up waving his arms and laughing. He lost his balance and fell hundreds of feet to his death. I remembered it every time I went on it.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 21/03/2020 10:32

Saw at Thorpe Park. I just sort of huddled in my seat clinging on with my eyes shut.

I bloody love Stealth though. And Collousus.

Bufferingkisses · 21/03/2020 10:33

I went on a fairground style one as a kid with my younger cousin. I think I was about 7 she was maybe 4? You sat in front of each other on benches, one leg each side, in cages that looked like rockets, door slid closed and it went round flinging you out to the side iyswim? On the second or third go round the door slid open, clearly wasn't latched properly. I spent the rest of the ride clinging to the door and the back to try and keep it closed whilst clinging to my cousin with my knees - I have disliked fairground rides since then!

SoupDragon · 21/03/2020 10:39

Twilight Tower of Terror at Disney. And the pirate ship ones.

I used to love rides but I can't do them any more!

MozzchopsThirty · 21/03/2020 10:39

For me it's THE TOWER OF TERROR

took me 2 years to pluck up the courage to go on but when I did it was the most amazing and most terrifying ride I've ever been on
On the photo everyone else looks like they're on a bus and I am screaming holding onto ds1
Ds2 went on it when he was 4 Shock

Mine love rides, we had booked portaventura this summer but who knows if that'll happen

MozzchopsThirty · 21/03/2020 10:40

Does anyone remember THE RAT

It was in a theme park up north, you had to walk into a sewer that stunk of urine
The ride itself was fun but I hated walking through tunnels

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/03/2020 10:50

The mouse at Blackpool was terrifying - more for the flimsiness of the structure and the fact you felt so unsafe.

Some of the first rides I went on - The Black Hole st Alton Towers and the Revolution

Hated The Claw at Dreamworld Australia

Mollymalone123 · 21/03/2020 10:51

I have ridden tons of rollercoasters in the parks in Florida and some were scary -but none quite as terrifying as The Grand National at Blackpool. My daughter and I only went in it as it looked good fun and not too scary-I couldn’t even scream and I genuinely felt we would slip off and die.😂😂

AngelsSins · 21/03/2020 10:52

The Hulk at Island of Adventure - I went on it with my ex who was 6’8 and so we were both sat by staff in the larger seats, despite me being 5’2 and pretty tiny! I was thrown around so much and felt like I was going to fall out, came off with mild whiplash!

TroysMammy · 21/03/2020 10:55

The Ladybirds Grin

Gemma2019 · 21/03/2020 11:09

HangTime at Knotts Berry Farm in California last year. It holds you for ages facing down at the top of a 96 degree drop, and all you have is a waist band so no shoulder support. You are literally hanging in the air facing the ground. It's the most terrifying ride ever.

YeahWhatevver · 21/03/2020 11:09

Worlds fastest one in Ferarri World Abu Dhabi

Never experienced anything like the first 10 seconds.

ForFiveMinutes · 21/03/2020 11:48

Shambhala at Port Adventura in Spain. As long as I feel securely strapped in I don’t mind the height/speed, but this one has a little bar across your lap and goes ridiculously high. I was actually crying as we went up the first hill as I was seriously regretting letting my teenager bully me into going on it. Never again!

OutOntheTilez · 21/03/2020 13:56

I've ridden both Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey and Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

They're the same type of coaster, except Kingda Ka has an extra hill at the end and shoulder harnesses.

No shoulder harnesses on TTD - seatbelt and a lap bar only.

1FootInTheRave · 21/03/2020 14:11

Tower of Terror and any of the pirate ships.

Actually, would rather go on ToT again than a pirate ship. I hate them.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/03/2020 14:14

Ratatouille in DLP gave me a headache. The screens were so out of focus. The
Spiderman ride in universal florida is a much better example of a non coaster immersion ride.
