Can be from theme parks in the uk or in another country or local fair ground rides or any others.

Mine was this:

Not that I checked but if I didn’t end up with even the tiniest bit of involuntary piss in my pants after this, I would be very surprised. It’s the closest I have ever felt like thinking that I was in so much danger I could actually die 😰

Another vote for Blackpool's wild mouse. It was very cleverly constructed to make you think your car was going to fly off the track at every corner. And the whole thing was just old and knackered.

BillThePony · 21/03/2020 08:12

Stealth at Thorpe Park. Never again, I love roller coasters but for some reason this one was not a enjoyable, think it was the sheer speed of it

Oldraver · 21/03/2020 08:17

The High Roller at the top of The Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas.

The small matter of it hanging out from the side of the building 900ft up.

It was exciting at the same time though and the view was amazing. I went and did it at night as well to get a different perspective.

Buit as a kid the Mouse frightened me

MitziK · 21/03/2020 08:43

The only thing that has ever scared me about fairground rides or rollercoasters, other than the size of the queue, is the one where you're all stood round the edge being held in by centrifugal force -

  • when you see somebody opposite who looks like they are about to be sick.

I wondered whether the people who find rides exciting or scary are also people who get travel or seasick; I've got a cast iron stomach and instant sea legs, so don't get that myself.

In some ways it's a shame, as even the so called scary rides have all been at best 'Meh' and at worst 'this seat is uncomfortable'. So I don't bother anymore.

Sorry - didn't mean to be a downer - I can't be the only person who has walked off surrounded by people staggering around in a state, wondering whether they were on the same ride as me, can I?

BritishHorrorStory · 21/03/2020 08:45

There’s also one other one I’d like to mention: I can’t remember The name of it but it’s at Disneyland in Florida (or, at least it used to be). It’s a space themed ride and you get in some small and cramped contraption and it’s meant to make you feel like you’re flying through space (it’s not Space Mountain, it’s called something else, and it was horrid, I felt like I couldn’t breathe throughout the entirety of it).

As we were at the top being hungover the edge my ex boyfriend thought it would be hilarious to unclip my seatbelt

Shock

Apocalypse at Drayton Manor - I hate being dropped. In fact even worse was one in Stockholm called Icarus where they drop you vertically face down.

I also hate the bit of Smiler where you ascend vertically.

MaisyMary77 · 21/03/2020 08:59

@BritishHorrorStory
Mission Space? Absolutely horrid. DH and I went on first thing in the morning and were ill for hours afterwards.

InsideNo · 21/03/2020 09:02

Drayton Manor’s Apocalypse for me, too. I love a good rollercoaster, but a tower drop is not fun!

ipswichwitch · 21/03/2020 09:08

I loved The High Roller in Vegas. I’m with notangelinajolie on Crush’s coaster at DLP. It’s described as “family fun” on the app -both kids were traumatised when they got off (didn’t help the bloody thing stopped right next to the giant shark to let a disabled rider get on), and I felt ill and shaky when I got off.

PardonWhat · 21/03/2020 09:14

I agree with the mouse trap or the big one at Blackpool. Awful things.

TheMemoryLingers · 21/03/2020 09:17

A tame one because I don't do roller coasters, but Hex at Alton Towers was frightening in a weird way.

dudsville · 21/03/2020 09:22

A local fair ground ride when I was a kid. It was a ferris wheel and my best friend and I were sat taboggon style, I think I was in front. It wasn't the scary pace, it was more that when i reached out to hold the grip on the door THE DOOR CAME OPEN! WE weren't belted in, we just screamed while the door slid to and fro, and the ride carried on to it's natural finish. I've never forgoten it!

BritishHorrorStory · 21/03/2020 09:23

@MaisyMary77
Just googled your suggestion and yes, I think that’s the one. I felt ill for ages afterwards too. I can’t remember if it was a rollercoaster or if it even moved around but the claustrophobia and the screen placed right next to my face made me feel sick and I just wanted to get out after about 20 seconds but felt like I was “locked in”.

Drayton Manor’s Apocalypse for me, too. I love a good rollercoaster, but a tower drop is not fun!

I can also confirm that Apocalypse is not fun and if you choose the “no floor” version and you have testicles, well, good luck with that, because for a scary fleeting moment when you’re back on the ground after the drop has happened, you might consider glancing down and saying “it was nice knowing you, mates”.

I loved crush's coster. Didn't mind mission space. Loved Aerosmith ride (florida but assume same) I like the fast start although Hulk in Universal was much better.

The only "drop" ride I've been on was tower of terror. Dont like them. Or the ones were everyone sits in a row and they spin upside down.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/03/2020 09:28

Mission space was in Epcot when I went

Tomorrowsanewday · 21/03/2020 09:28

I would be too embarrassed to tell you [embarrassed].
Let’s just say I was the one on the kids ride who screamed and cried the whole way round but not in a good way.
I now mind the bags 😬

Newcatmum · 21/03/2020 09:31

Furius Baco in Portaventura.

Marmite27 · 21/03/2020 09:31

I didn’t like oblivion.

Newcatmum · 21/03/2020 09:32

I loved Hulk, Aerosmith etc but Furius Baco had me crying.

Marmite27 · 21/03/2020 09:37

And yes to Hex. It messes with your perception

Isthistrueor · 21/03/2020 09:40

Grand national at Blackpool, thought I was breathing my last

Same. I was very young, I think around 8 or 9 and I thought you sat on a horse and went around a track. I almost flew out of the carriage a few times, started bawling and vowed never to go on a ride again. I think I’ve been on one or two rollercoasters since, I went to Alton Towers about a year or two later and refused to go on most rides.

tothesea · 21/03/2020 09:42

Shambhala rollercoaster at Portaventura. I have ever felt so unsafe. There are no restraints over your body just over the tops of your legs. I genuinely thought I was going to fall out and was too scared to even scream. I just shut my eyes, held on the best I could and prayed!!!

namechangetheworld · 21/03/2020 09:46

The Saw ride at Thorpe Park. I thought I was going to die.

Bufferingkisses · 21/03/2020 09:47

I love rollercoasters, always have but totally agree about the wooden one in Busch Gardens (no gone) was it kumali or something? It broke several times whilst I was on it with my kids. I have never been so scared I don't think. Genuinely thought about getting out and walking down. The only thing that stopped me trying was not being able to move. My kids found it hilarious Hmm

Bufferingkisses · 21/03/2020 09:48

*now gone!
