AIBU to ask fellow Mumsnetters your favourite conspiracy theories?

Where it be about lizard people, 911 or the Government man-making Coronvirus to kill off the vulnerable, what conspiracy theory sends a chill up your spine?

Sorry if a little dark but I have to admit I love a good conspiracy theory and figured I wouldn't be the only one! Plus I need some bedtime reading...

Also, if the moon landings were fake, how did the astronauts on Apollo 13 end up failing to get there and nearly failing to survive and get back to Earth? It doesn't make any sense, does it?

There have been legal implications of discussion on here brought forward by relations of said girl though so MNHQ are obviously reluctant to allow posts to stand.

Very intriguing and sad case nonetheless.

Going back to JonBenet Ramsey, I reckon the brother did it and that was one big cover-up.

Told DH about this thread and he just about pissed his pants with excitement. He's lives for a conspiracy.

He's totally convinced the illumanti is among is and the "all seeing eye" is absolutely everywhere and lots of big megastars are all members and regularly make gestures associated with illumanti.

Also been instructed to tell you all, he also fully believes about 9/11 being a conspiracy.... He rattled on about for about 10mins about specifics but i tuned out about 3mins into said rant don't remember the details

Claiming that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a real document isn't a conspiracy theory; it's outright antisemitism.

@Bezalelle I've noticed that lots of conspiracy theories come down to anti semitism.... even David Icke is an anti Semite.

The people who make me sick are those who say the Holocaust was a hoax.

Remember watching a programme about Hitler, explaining how he didn’t commit suicide and it was other people’s bodies in the house. Hitler was smuggled out.

The funky arty display was actually at the opening of a tunnel in Switzerland - and very weird it was too.

There were these hairy little spidery things kind of like a mop on legs. I have no idea what they are, but the same things appear in David Bowie's Blackstar video.

The Johnny Gosch case and the rabbit holes you can fall into when you research it are terrifying.

@NymphadoraBonks @lilyboleyn I have tried to find the original story but I can’t remember where I found it.
Basically, a US paediatrician was out in his back garden and noticed strange lights/movements in the sky. ( in the70s.) He reported to the local press and subsequently received similar reports from other people. He started to collate this info as a hobby and local media deferred to to him in subsequent years.
One day , he received a phone call from a man wanting to look at his files. The doctor agreed and immediately he had a knock on the door. A man, dressed like he came from the ‘40s, all in black and wearing a fedora ... walked into the doctor’s house and immediately went upstairs. The doctor stopped him and immediately noticed that the man had absolutely no facial hair or perceivable hair in his head. He was very sweaty and the man wiped his face and his ‘lipstick’ smeared. Doctor immediately ushered him out after the man told him to stop looking.
Fast forward about 40 years.
Two students were staying in a hotel. They spotted strange lights/phenomena in the sky and immediately posted on Facebook. The following morning two men, dressed like they were from the forties ( fedora, black suit and long coat) arrived at the hotel’s reception demanding to speak to the students. Reception refused but men were persistent. The manager was called and the men walked away. Staff noticed that the men had absolutely no facial hair and were perspiring. They also appeared to be wearing lipstick. They are recorded on cctv. You can view this on YouTube as Meninblack caught on cctv.
I’m not a believer but this did unnerve me.

I actually see a lot of logic in the 911 conspiracy. That either the government did it, or knew of it coming and allowed it to happen, in order to justify the war on Iraq which was actually motivated by oil stocks.

It also ties to the 7/11 attack here which Tony Blair used as a reason to support our troops going to Iraq...

Can't believe there are loads of others of you who are just as weird as me. We should form a group and meet to watch aliens.

My fave conspiracy theory has gotta be about the Men in Black. Also the Paul McCartney one...

Been reading about another theory too, about how the US Government staged the Sandy Hook shooting to try and push for a gun outlaw. Interesting...👀

My MIL claims the Chinese government created coronavirus to crash the Western economy.

1. The Western economy is crashing just fine without China's help;
2. If the Western economy crashes, who is going to buy all the plastic tat and electronics made in China?

I think that coronavirus will keep the conspiracy theorists busy for a good few years...

Ooh I love a good conspiracy theory.
I've flown into and out of Denver Airport and can tell you that it is one of the weirdest places I have ever been. The murals aren't the only strange thing about it. It's huge and the corridors are so wide with barely anyone around.
Every time I flew out of there I always thought that flights must have been cancelled because every check in desk was empty. Yet no it was in full operation.
Denver itself has a strange feel too.
That horse is a bit off putting as well.
Off to Google for a reminisce.
