Yes Ken that's used frequently on here. It's quite slow to update though. I love it's layout and the way it compares the data. Great resource.

TokyoSushi · 26/02/2020 20:03

Checking in, thank you!

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 20:03

1st case of #coronavirus in #Norway

WaterSheep · 26/02/2020 20:05

KenDodd Yep, the Worldometers update has been around since thread one.

GerardWay123 · 26/02/2020 20:05

I'm due to leave for Malta this weekend. All inclusive. I have joked about taking my own dishing up spoons. I'm not particularly worried about the virus atm but I really don't want to be in lockdown there for 2 or more weeks.

hairymuffet · 26/02/2020 20:06

Holiday companies will go bust next !

WaterSheep · 26/02/2020 20:06

3 new cases in the United States: 2 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and 1 domestic, for which no further information has been released yet.

Knockalockin · 26/02/2020 20:07

@poppytime I read ur post earlier on and thought u all sounded a lot worse than DD. What advice were u given?

I phoned NHS111 yesterday afternoon, got a phone call about 1am and swabs taken lunchtime today. Results tomorrow. I was impressed.

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 20:07

I bet it's rife in the US Watersheep they are hardly testing at all

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 20:07

#NORWAY- 5 people are suspected of having #Coronavirus in Norway, additionally to the confirmed case announced earlier. they are currently self-quarantined at home.

WaterSheep · 26/02/2020 20:09

I agree that it's almost certainly widespread OfWarren

Poppytime · 26/02/2020 20:10

@Knockalockin so 111 initially said we would be swabbed then a doctor called back and basically seemed very blasé and said it's probably just a normal bug and she had to be 'pragmatic' about it as they couldn't text everyone so she thinks it's fine Confused

Notstrongandstable · 26/02/2020 20:10

PMK

Poppytime · 26/02/2020 20:10

Test not text!

WaterSheep · 26/02/2020 20:11

Update USA

1 domestic who had been repatriated from Hubei on Feb. 7 and was put on quarantine upon entering the United States at JBSA-Lackland in Texas.

That's a long incubation period, especially for someone who came from Hubei

woodencoffeetable · 26/02/2020 20:12

I wonder what the situation for our salaries will be if we are quarantined for 2 weeks confused

germany has announced that employers have a right to full pay, even if government shuts down premises.
but then again employers in germany have 6 weeks full pay sickness pay...

Quartz2208 · 26/02/2020 20:12

watching sky news it looks like the mild cases in hospital are mild and are being quarantined now (in much better conditions) so presumably here the mild cases would be quarantined at home

Legoandloldolls · 26/02/2020 20:13

Oh crap. Didnt consider holiday firms going bust. I have a holiday booked for July. I presume the virus will have gone round the globe by then. But if the holiday company's goes TU I guess I'd be covered by ATOS?

My main worry is still my sons GCSEs. I worry about bigger that that I'm going to start to start to loose sleep. Missing gcses with a anxious school refuser is bad enough

CoCoPops55 · 26/02/2020 20:13

Just checking in as like to follow these threads with all the information it's very helpful, thank you all

Snowdropdelight · 26/02/2020 20:15

I think we will get an explosion here.

It's inevitable after half term. Tons of children will have already mingled in schools, teachers, their families.

Children are super spreaders, always hugging, touching, sharing each others drinks, food etc.

Next week we're in for it.

Allaxaonoma · 26/02/2020 20:15

I've name changed for this.

I think it's already here in Britain, and I think I'm recovering from it.

About a week and a half ago, I came down with the strangest virus I've ever had. It was a bit like a mild cold at first with no sneezing, just a pouring nose, but within a day, my ribs began to feel like a shrinking cage. They would seize if I moved in bed, or tried to turn my body. It got so bad by last Friday that I couldn't get out of bed without spasming pain, and I got really rather frightened.

At one point, I wondered if I'd put my middle back out; at another, I wondered if it was the start of MS symptoms. The pain spasms kept changing and moving; they started off at the bottoms of my rib cage like a tightening band around my torso, and a few days later, they were up by bra strap.

Then the following day, I started to feel a lot better, but it left me utterly exhausted. I'm still coughing up very thick mucus (it's like glue).

Whatever I've had, it wasn't like my previous experiences of cold or flu. I had bacterial pneumonia once, and it felt more like that. And I suspect it may have been covid-19.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/02/2020 20:16

Offs some schools and their advisors are fucking about with people's health. Better have, say 30 kids on th trip off than 30 kids plus their desk mates two rows in front and behind for each class. ( Following aeroplane guidance)

Good luck Hasa.

Disclaimer, still have several posts to go on thread 4

Snowdropdelight · 26/02/2020 20:16

Lego I imagine special measures will be in place for things like gcse

KenDodd · 26/02/2020 20:17

We're supposed to got to California in four weeks time. The USA doesn't seem to badly affected I wonder if we'll go.
