Good time to buy airline stocks and any other stocks aswell.

This will be sorted in time.

Buy low, sell high. I'm off to my broker right now lol.

Oops....sorry to the Preppers, just set up the next thread here:

Prepping for a pandemic...7 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/preppers/3833646-prepping-for-a-pandemic-7

FourTeaFallOut · 26/02/2020 19:32

ohmargo I misread that for airline socks and thought, you're right they probably are struggling to sell them but I'm not sure you could charge more for them later, this is a sign I need to have a break from the threads.

Snowdropdelight · 26/02/2020 19:32

Skye
The information for schools is as clear as mud.
Written very badly. I've literally just had a mini argument with dh about what it means because it seems to mean same thing.

Should have included actual maps etc make it easy

Snowdropdelight · 26/02/2020 19:33

Four, I initially thought that too, airline socks 😂😂

AvocadoOwl · 26/02/2020 19:34

Just checking in.

OhMargo · 26/02/2020 19:36

Looking back I see airline socks myself!! LOL.

But I think I spelled stocks right. Good to see people having a laugh. Life is tough, find your fun where you can.

I decided to cancel my holiday in Ibiza mid May today. Only lost the deposit so that's good. After seeing those poor people quarantined in a hotel in Tenerife I just decided it wasn't worth the risk!

#CoronaVirus— Iraqi authorities order the closure of public stores for 10 days

Originalyellowbelly · 26/02/2020 19:41

I read socks too, thought it was going on the explain how they could be modelled into makeshift masks.

NutellaQuest · 26/02/2020 19:43

Dropping a placemark. Thanks for useful updates warren . Am on preppers too, but can't keep up!

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 19:44

It's moving fast Nutella! Dread to even think what it will be like in a week's time

Knockalockin · 26/02/2020 19:45

This has been pretty much the only thing on my mind since yesterday, as my DD was swabbed today after coming back from Northern Italy and having a common cold and a stomach bug.

The virologist who came said a lot of her patients who had been swabbed had appeared healthy. And they most likely are healthy based on their symptoms.

Patients were being referred for testing for cold symptoms when realistically from what she had seen, this virus went straight to the lungs with lower respiratory symptoms rather than upper tract complaints

I had told NHS 111 that dd was feeling fine now and they still tested, so very vigilant in this area

Destinysdaughter · 26/02/2020 19:45

I've also read that garlic, chillies and ginger are soon going to be in short supply as they mainly come from China as well as artificial sweetners. If you use these a lot, stock up!

Namethecat · 26/02/2020 19:48

I have a work colleague who is currently in Tenerife and is due back Friday . She was in a hotel close to the lockdown one but has gone somewhere else until Friday. She fully expects to fly home and be able to carry on as usual once home.

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 19:48

Iraq bans its citizens from traveling to China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Italy, Kuwait, and Bahrain. #coronavirus

ofwarren · 26/02/2020 19:49

When do you get the result knock

WaterSheep · 26/02/2020 19:56

1 new case in France: the wife of a confirmed case

FredaFrogspawn · 26/02/2020 19:56

It will be very hard financially for the self-employed in most jobs if they have to self-isolate.

smotheroffive · 26/02/2020 19:58

How is this spreading?

Is there data on this?

I find it so odd that the apparent 'super spreader' didn't give it to a single soul on his flight, yet shared recirced air in the plane!? Sat in very close proximity to others all the way from singapore, was it, to France, and france to uk. How is that super spreading, I don't see it as superspreading.

Theres also no links with some who have it isn't there? Well, there must be somewhere but I haven't seen or heard it explained clearly.

There's also very little action by our govt, ever, since it started!

Everyone go everywhere. Shouldn't we have restrictions in place to prevent this happening here, or are we just sitting ducks.

I have been following the thread, and have seen similar concerns raised and just wondering if there are any answers to these issues yet.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 26/02/2020 19:58

I wonder what the cost per head of testing is?

If I was in charge and could free up the funds I'd start by testing all hospital patients and staff. Then work out from there.

MyFavouriteColourIsBlue · 26/02/2020 19:58

Checking in. Wondered why the other thread was quiet Blush

KenDodd · 26/02/2020 20:00

Anyone linked to this table before?

www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Knockalockin · 26/02/2020 20:02

@ofwarren it's 24hrs for swab results

Poppytime · 26/02/2020 20:02

That's interesting Knock, I told nhs 111 I had been to doc with chest infection while away last week in Switzerland and northern Italy, who even told me it was a viral infection and they still didn't swab me or my family, even now dd is sick since we got back. I'm sure we are fine but it just seems inconsistent.
