Oh fuck, I’ve no excuse not to be part of the PTA

I’ve used the new baby excuse for as long as possible. He’s almost two so that’s wearing thin. I only work three days a week and it’s flexible around school times.

It’s only a tiny rural school that relies on parent volunteers so I’m just going to have to dive in right?

I'm the chair of our Parent Council (PC). (Different from a PTA - but we do have a fundraising sub group) we are full in terms of membership and everyone is in one or more subgroups. The subgroups then have a wider group of people in them from the parent body not just the PC.

We are running smoothly and add lots of value to the school but what we always struggle with is volunteers on the day of events. We do all we can to open it up.

If you can volunteer occasionally to support events I think you'd be worth your weight in gold. Anyone who gives up their time like this is a gift and we're so thankful for their support. So do the time (occasionally) but avoid the committee!
