What 'adult' thing have you never done?

I have reached the grand old age of 53 and have never booked a holiday abroad. I wouldn't even know where to start! and I fancy a holiday but don't know how to do it Holidays have always been in the UK, camping when the DC were young and caravanning for the last 12 years. My last foreign trip was when I was 19 and DM booked it. I just had to give her the money for it.

Looked after a frail relative.

I'm 52. All my grandparents died before I was grown up. My own parents and parents-in-law all died without me having done much at all for them. i moved abroad and wasn't around during my dad's illness. He died relatively young after being looked after by my mother. I returned for a few month-long visits and helped my mum, but it felt like the burden was all hers. Then my mum died while living with my sister, who did it all.

DH is from a big family and being just an in-law, I didn't help my parents-in-law much when they were elderly - they had all their own children to do it for them.

Bought a house, saved money.
Really must.

I've never had a passport or drivers licence.
Never bought a new sofa or carpet.
