Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

OP posts:
NaturallyEden · 09/02/2020 03:25

The Police Helicopter has appeared and the wind seems to have gone. I am hoping the helicopter moves along before the wind starts again... it's freaking low!

WelshMoth · 09/02/2020 03:29

In Swansea and it's bad. Concerned for the double glazing- it's creaking and clicking with every strong gust.

1forAll74 · 09/02/2020 03:33

I don't wish anyone any weather devastation at all, but I love to hear the wind and rain, but nothing here in Herts, just a bit windy that's all.

knowmenclature · 09/02/2020 03:34

Scarey picture there noche. Wouldn't want to be in those houses they already look under the waves Confused

Same kateandme

Watching this thread for updates, and the company if its a long night

ElGuardiandenoche · 09/02/2020 03:56

@knowmenclature, the waves are battering the buildings. That’s actually the beach huts, restaurant and shop at the top of the beach. The top bit of the beach normally doesn’t get covered with sea.

ElGuardiandenoche · 09/02/2020 04:00

images.app.goo.gl/ns4jto7mKrcjAYQY6

That’s a normal high tide.

RebornFlame · 09/02/2020 04:06

Another one in Suffolk. I think I might have slept through it all? Nothing loud at all atm.

Good considering I’ve got work soon and the Orwell bridge will be closed!

NemophilistRebel · 09/02/2020 04:11

It’s been really calm all day in Hertfordshire but just woke up now to very noisy winds

Still nothing more than it being very gusty out there though

The amber warning for us starts at 8am in the morning so that’s when I expect it to get worst

honeyloops · 09/02/2020 04:12

I've just woken up on the sofa (oops) and it's a bit windy but that's it in South Manchester!

notimagain · 09/02/2020 04:14

Another one in Suffolk. I think I might have slept through it all? "

Nope,

"it" hasn't got to the south east UK yet..I don't want to repeat verbatim the post I made on another thread about the 0200 Heathrow forecast, but FWIW at Stansted the winds aren't really forecast to increase until after 7 A.M and the chance of peak winds of around 65 MPH (associated with showers) isn't until around 3 to 5 PM....

Cottagepieandpeas · 09/02/2020 04:16

Berkshire again. The dog woke me up and now I can't get back to sleep.
Very strong gusts here, but then dies down. I'm assuming it will be worse tomorrow.
It scares me too and makes me feel helpless.
DP fast asleep, not disturbed at all.

Supposed to have a driving lesson in the morning but it will probably be cancelled.

Momto2girlies · 09/02/2020 04:19

It's bad here in Weston-super-Mare... Wind howling. Wouldn't like to be outside. Got to travel back to Midlands in the afternoon.... Hoping its not too bad to travel.

knowmenclature · 09/02/2020 04:20

So the white building obscured by the crash of the waves noche? And the one to the right a bit offset behind it... they're not houses then? Not homes I mean. No families sitting insider quaking. I hope it doesn't get worse there, as it already looks so bad! Shock

knowmenclature · 09/02/2020 04:23

Its good to have the company though when you feel like that cottagepie

Good luck with yoir travels tomorrow Mom

Cottagepieandpeas · 09/02/2020 04:32

That's true Knowmenclature , glad I am not on my own.
Got acid reflux now, just to add to the fun 🙄

Armi · 09/02/2020 04:34

My roof sounds as if it’s about to blow off. Have got dressed and come downstairs to drink tea on the sofa.

fromagefreak · 09/02/2020 04:42

I've been awake since 3am although not sure if the wind woke me. The tree in the garden of the house opposite is worrying me as it doesn't look very stable and if it goes down it could hit our house. Parts of it have blown down before and they've been warned to get it chopped down by a tree surgeon.

Ponoka7 · 09/02/2020 04:44

@MissConductUS, yes it is. The snow that you've had is what is being brought in, in a couple of days.

It's been quiet here in Prescot. The slight wind that we've had was bitterly cold. We had the odd droplets of rain that were freezing. You'd feel it for about 10 seconds and then it was gone again.

LesLavandes · 09/02/2020 04:45

Anybody from Brighton on here?

Am in France. Worried about my house on seafront

NothingWrong · 09/02/2020 04:46

It has just roared into North East London.

QueenofLouisiana · 09/02/2020 04:48

@notimagain good luck getting to work. I’ve got to get into Ipswich this afternoon- it’ll be chaos with the bridge closed.

NothingWrong · 09/02/2020 04:48

Anyone else feel like it's the world being a little bit furious? Throwing a tantrum?

Ponoka7 · 09/02/2020 04:50

My DD is in Shrewsbury, staying in her mates flat. She said the windows are rattling and they can't sleep with the noise.

BuddhaAtSea · 09/02/2020 04:53

I got woken up by it, I’m in the south. And I’m a really really heavy sleeper.
Stay safe, people.

LongGinShortTonic · 09/02/2020 05:06

The wind is absolutely horrible here in Gloucestershire. Started to pick up at 11pm, now it’s thudding into the side of the house and I can’t believe I’m the only one awake!
