Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

North West. Nice day earlier.
Wind began to pick up about 9.30pm and started raining. Rain has now stopped, but still very windy with gusts.
DS meant to be flying Manchester to London City later today ☹️

RachelEllenR · 09/02/2020 00:11

Also Berks - I can hear the wind whistling around but nothing of concern yet. Bit worried about what tomorrow will bring. Moved a lot of stuff inside from the garden today.

beethecrackon24995 · 09/02/2020 00:16

Quiet in east london/Essex border apart from the cat who is running around

TheOrangeFox · 09/02/2020 00:16

Windy and raining in South Wales but nothing I'd describe as awful yet.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/02/2020 00:18

Just outside Glasgow. Has been a bit windy today but nothing bad. A lot of rain but not really stormy. Just the usual wet/windy weather. Whats all the fuss about?

VanillaSugarr · 09/02/2020 00:18

The wind is very noisy in the East Midlands.

Justaboy · 09/02/2020 00:20

As a part time amathur pilot i would not like to be landing at London City in the winds forecast there now let alone tomorrow, shall we say not a lot of room for error at that one!.

And its all cross wind. Betcha a 20 pound note it'll be cancelled!.

DecemberSnow · 09/02/2020 00:21

We are in a village and we lose power in alot less windy conditions than this...

Dreading it, we were out for 4 days once 😯

You'll see;!! Just wait till tomorrow.

Mamboitaliano · 09/02/2020 00:22

West Midlands and it's pretty windy but no rain yet. Big sudden gusts. Not even half the wind speed we're going to get up to tomorrow apparently. Meant to be driving 2 hours tomorrow and thinking I might have to cancel.

Justaboy · 09/02/2020 00:22

DecemberSnow Backup generatror, they do come up on e-bay sometimes at not a fortune but you'll need a pro to fit one..

Mummylin · 09/02/2020 00:23

Wind now getting up in Dorset.

Scotmummy1216 · 09/02/2020 00:24

Bad here in south west scotland. A number of roads closed from fallen trees and flooded by river.

BarbedBloom · 09/02/2020 00:25

S Wales. Just lots of rain really

NewtonPulsifer · 09/02/2020 00:26

Winds picking up here, desperately hoping next door but ones fence will finally give way and blow over and they will have to replace it Grin it is falling apart, lots of missing slats and last summer they painted it with a random load of garden shades tester pots so it looks like unicorn sick. Every gale and I have my hopes up, let this be the one!!

xine15 · 09/02/2020 00:28

South Cambs, doesn't seem too bad and our village is usually windier than surrounding areas. But not too far away apparently there are tornado warnings (!) if you can believe the local news website.

dorisdog · 09/02/2020 00:28

Wales, so we're pretty used to lively weather, but yeah, this is going to be slate tiles flying off the roof weather 😭

Scrump21 · 09/02/2020 00:30

Middlesbrough near a place called stokesley and it's very open so at the moment our house is getting absolutely battered by the wind.... Also big fat raindrops!

Justaboy · 09/02/2020 00:32

A bit breezy here in Mid Anglia

No rain as yet.

Smelborp · 09/02/2020 00:32

Oxfordshire. Wind is beginning to pick up.

marblesgoing · 09/02/2020 00:33

@DartmoorChef @LouHotel
I'm also in Devon
It's really gusty here now. I'm pretty sure the trains had already been cancelled along the Dawlish line or at least some of the newer ones.

If this carries on I'm sure they will all be cancelled.

SapphireSeptember · 09/02/2020 00:34

It's starting to hit us in Cambs. That wind is making me nervous (and I feel bloody cold!) Worried about how it'll effect the trains, I'm near the East Coast Mainline and I don't want it to bring down any of the overheard power cables. I don't know if it's raining yet though.

@xine15 Bloody Hell! Shock Hadn't seen that!

DecemberSnow · 09/02/2020 00:37

@Justaboy

Thank you !

We've had fantastically noisy wind here all evening - east Devon.
