Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

S.wales. heavy rain and little windy. But nothing crazy yet

LuluJakey1 · 08/02/2020 23:47

Very windy on the coast up in the north-east. Sea is rough. Raining but not pouring. DD (almost 3) is awake and sitting on DH's knee- scared of the wind.

Tara336 · 08/02/2020 23:47

South Coast a little windy but nothing to write home about yet

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/02/2020 23:48

I'm in North Herts and it's barely blowing outside. I am wondering when it will hit!

TrashPanda · 08/02/2020 23:49

Wilts/Oxon border and it's picked up here in the last 20 minutes or so.

JaceLancs · 08/02/2020 23:50

Very windy here on NW coast

MollysMummy2010 · 08/02/2020 23:50

South West London here and it is windy but nothing bad

OzziePopPop · 08/02/2020 23:50

DD is camping with the scouts tonight after doing the Cotswold Marathon (just the bronze, 10 miles) but it’s ok, she’s in a ‘luxury bell tent’ so 60mph winds won’t be an issue 😂

Expecting a very damp, wind blown scout back tomorrow 😆

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 08/02/2020 23:51

South East London Starting to whip round the side of houses now but was pretty quiet 5 minutes ago .

Housiemousie · 08/02/2020 23:51

All died down here in the West of Ireland. Not a peep. Expecting all hell to break loose at 9am tomorrow though.

OzziePopPop · 08/02/2020 23:53

We’re just outside Bristol btw (south west of) and it’s windy but manageable here so far. I’ll be tying the dogs down when they go out for a wee later and DH has told DD (camping as above) to just look for the yellow brick road in the morning!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 08/02/2020 23:56

Oh yes. The rain is battering the front and the letterbox keeps lifting and banging.

There are so many homeless people in the city where I work. Lord knows how they are getting on.

carnivalisover · 08/02/2020 23:56

SW Herts. Wind picking up & someone’s wheelie bin is rolling around in the street.

Titsywoo · 08/02/2020 23:56

Apparently any current winds in the uk arent storm Ciara but another weather system passing over. Ciara will hit here in the early hours and be at its worst between 12pm and 6pm tomorrow.

CallmeAngelina · 08/02/2020 23:57

DD is meant to be flying back from Amsterdam tomorrow. Easyjet website is currently saying they intend operating as normal, but that statement hasn't been updated in over 24 hours.
I'll eat my hat if the flight runs, so we've had to take a punt on buying a train ticket instead - mega bucks!

happymummy12345 · 08/02/2020 23:58

I'm in Liverpool, earlier in the day it was light rain and wind but its windy and heavy rain here now.
My dh cycles to and from work, I was so worried about him cycling in this weather as I wasn't expecting him in until around 11 (was in until half 10 tonight). Thankfully a colleague of his goes near here on his way home so he gave him a lift. He will walk to work in the morning and he's promised to walk with his bike not cycle after work tomorrow if it's too bad out (he's only in until 5ish so not as bad as today).

ChristmasCarcass · 09/02/2020 00:01

SE London, nothing here. But I’m not expecting much, this area is so built up we are protected from the most extreme weather (the heat from other houses seems to insulate us from cold snaps, the wind seems to be stopped by all the buildings, and although we obviously get rain, thanks to the Thames Barrier and decent sewers we never flood). My DM comes up to visit and is always baffled. “Haven’t you had any frost?” “No.” “Didn’t it rain last night?” “Yes but it’s dried up by now”.

tywysoges · 09/02/2020 00:01

Windy and rainy here but not too different from any windy and rainy day yet - coastal area in South Wales.

Dramaofallama · 09/02/2020 00:02

Berkshire, it's windy but nothing out of the ordinary yet.

MollysMummy2010 · 09/02/2020 00:02

I stand corrected - just gone outside and it is very windy. I am in Teddington in SW london

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 09/02/2020 00:02

Norfolk, and it's getting windier by the minute, but nothing too awful. Looking forward to a long, long lie in tomorrow and hearing the wind howl outside.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 09/02/2020 00:04

Just beginning to pick up in south London. DP laid the million council compulsory wheelie bins on their side to reduce the chances of having to retrieve them from the main road before the fire brigade need to drive down it quickly (the station is just the other side of the roundabout, so they, along with police and ambulance have no choice but to use it to reach 80% of the surrounding area).

Hoping the Bourne doesn't make a reappearance this time.

cherrytree63 · 09/02/2020 00:05

North Lincs, just getting some strong gusts, no rain yet.

yeetyoik · 09/02/2020 00:05

West wales and it's awful.

RhitaGawr · 09/02/2020 00:08

Pretty wild in Snowdonia tonight
