Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

Been raining here since 3.30 N.I. and the wind has picked up but not too strongly. Probably get worse by tomorrow.
Earlier this evening the Sealink ferry had to wait for a tug boat to bring it into dock because of bad conditions.

AlviesMam · 08/02/2020 23:25

Teesside (north east) is very windy, rain has started too.

MoiraRose · 08/02/2020 23:25

NE coast, really quite strong and raining. Started picking up about 5ish (no rain then though, that's not long started)

Elieza · 08/02/2020 23:25

Near Glasgow airport. Earlier around 7pm it was windy enough to cause some planes to abandon landing and go round again for another go. Some took two attempts. The big Emirates plane has had to detour to Manchester after two aborted attempts, where it parked up for three hours before flying finally into Glasgow half an hour ago.

Live at the top of a hill terraced street, about 20 neighbours haven't secured their bins and there all now migrating down to the main road at the bottom. Should be fun in the morning.

Louise0701 · 08/02/2020 23:26

Yorkshire and getting worse here. Stay safe everyone.

Have a look here, the wind distribution isn't the same in all areas this may well explain the odd results.

The main event is around midday tomorrow its reckoned to be 70 plus with gusts up to 80 or 90, that is scary!!!

LouHotel · 08/02/2020 23:27

Also in Devon and wondering about the dawlish line.

shinynewapple2020 · 08/02/2020 23:28

Midlands here - wind is just starting to pick up, making the dog bark . Light rain and mildish. It's meant to be heavy rain and gales tomorrow but seems to be starting early.

GiantKitten · 08/02/2020 23:28

I posted 20 mins ago that it was not too windy here, but it's definitely picking up strength now...

HeyMac · 08/02/2020 23:29

Yes but in Scotland- just feels like it's a bit windy/rainy. Wouldn't say it's storm like as such.

BrokenWing · 08/02/2020 23:29

Was a bit windy earlier but not too bad now, weather app days only 10mph winds now, think they were 50mph+ earlier. West coast Scotland.

JustMyName · 08/02/2020 23:31

Yorkshire coast and it's getting quite windy, not raining yet though.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 08/02/2020 23:32

In the peaks and just tied the bins to the shed and topped them with compost bags, after clearing up rubbish for the 4th time. Kinda terrified for the windows if the bungee cord goes 😅

Wind is definitely fierce off the hills but not too much rain yet.

OhLook · 08/02/2020 23:32

Well, my recycling bins just went for a bit of a drift down the road in North Essex.

karigan · 08/02/2020 23:33

gusts of 50mph and chucking it down on the coast in NW Lancashire. We've only just reroofed the shed two days ago, hoping the new one will still be on tomorrow....

DecemberSnow · 08/02/2020 23:33

Ah, yes, please everyone bring any little furry friends in if you can !!

Storm Ciara has definitely hit rural Cumbria with torrential rain and gale force winds. We live in an old farm house; the winds and rain are absolutely battering us. It's been horrendous for a few hours now and the kids couldn't settle so ended up in our bed. Thankfully DH's snoring is loud enough to drown out mating walruses, so the kids are sound asleep now Grin

We're a hardy lot 'oop here and very used to inclement weather, but I'd hate to be travelling now.

Armi · 08/02/2020 23:34

Getting a bit lively in Lincolnshire (not a sentence I get to write very often),

Luckystar777 · 08/02/2020 23:36

Nope, a bit of rain and that's all, typical scottish weather, nothing new.

Wickedwoo · 08/02/2020 23:37

Starting to pick up in Staffordshire. Stay safe everyone

Samcro · 08/02/2020 23:37

Bit windy in Brighton. My bamboo is doing the dance.

NextdoorNeighbourIsATwat · 08/02/2020 23:38

Windy a/f in mid Wales

Crunchymum · 08/02/2020 23:39

Central (North) London here.

Very quiet and calm.

For the moment!!!

Ursaminor · 08/02/2020 23:42

North East Scotland right on the coast - absolute silence at the moment. Not due here until tomorrow morning.
