Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

Bloody fell fire, that rain is horrendous! Shock I've never heard anything like it, not even during a summer thunderstorm. There was a lull earlier when the wind dropped and the sun came out, now it's gone crazy again! At least I managed to finally figure out how to shut my window properly, it kept blowing open, and cos the wind is driving the rain against it it was coming in.

The M11 is shut in both directions over fears the roof of an aircraft hangar at Duxford Airfield is about to blow off.

The road has been shut between junction 9 and 10 northbound and junction 11 and 9 southbound.

Residence have been told to stay indoors. Police doing door to door

Eerily quiet in N Wales now, awful floods in Llanrwst and St. Asaph. Those poor people flooded out.

windymillersmill · 09/02/2020 15:23

The nearby reservoir looks like it’s too dangerous to surf on

Aren't they always too dangerous to surf on because of the water outlets?

ferretface · 09/02/2020 15:27

Kent 3.30pm update: neighbour has propped up the collapsing fence (theirs) with some wooden joists, looks like it will survive to stand another day!

Dog started lodging his complaints about his lack of walk today so he's had a large bone to shut him up - blissful silence now.

Trees down everywhere.

adaline · 09/02/2020 15:30

It's cleared up a bit in Cumbria - blue skies and the wind has dropped too.

Hope everyone is safe.

SapphireSeptember · 09/02/2020 15:38

@NothingWrong
Just seen your comment. Yeah, I think Mother Nature is royally pissed off at us, and stuff like this is Her trying to warn us. Sad I was thinking the same thing about the fires in Australia and freezing temps in Florida.

RightestPersonOnMN · 09/02/2020 15:38

Wind seems to have died down a little but it is still raining stair rods.

Justaboy · 09/02/2020 15:50

DD3 has just driven 50 odd miles back from Leicester and said she didnt know what all the fuiss was about it's just a bit breezey and a bit of rain;!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/02/2020 15:55

We had the blue skies for a bit but it's raining again now. The wind has dropped, but it's still windy, rather than a breeze.

SapphireSeptember · 09/02/2020 15:57

Still windy here in Cambs but the sun has come out (again.) Maybe I'll get to see the full Supermoon tonight after all.

Cottagepieandpeas · 09/02/2020 16:01

Sorry to those of you who have had damage to property etc. I hope nobody has been hurt.

Berkshire - seems to be dying down here. DP just taken dog for a quick stroll. Chimneys and roofs seem to be intact

xine15 · 09/02/2020 16:07

Impressive tree ripped down in Cambridge. Also saw that about duxford, they’ve had trouble there before!

windymillersmill · 09/02/2020 16:25

Bluewavescrashing · 09/02/2020 16:28

Just flew through the storm in a plane 😬 very scary experience!

happymummy12345 · 09/02/2020 16:31

We had lovely blue sky and sun earlier. Now heavy rain and wind again. Just when my dh will be leaving work soon and cycling home.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/02/2020 16:32

Just had a massive gust of wind that blew the door of the downstairs loo shut. We dont even have any windows open.

GetawayfromthatWelshtart · 09/02/2020 16:32

South west, zone 6.

Cats woke me up at 7 complaining about the wind. Currently it's a bit like living on Craggy Island.

SirVixofVixHall · 09/02/2020 16:35

Hahaha Craggy Island here too. Although strangely not much debris on the beach, just v high tide.

dementedma · 09/02/2020 16:36

Think we must have escaped the worst of it here in Scotland. Its been horribly windy and rainy, but thats pretty normal.

Shockers · 09/02/2020 17:26

Our town has flooding. Our house is unaffected, despite backing onto the river, because it’s on a slope. One of our neighbours has had to abandon their house, as it’s flooded. A neighbouring village is really bad. They were hit last time too Sad.

We’re in the NW. when it’s high tide and the rivers are especially high, it forces the water back and the rivers swell and break their banks. We have three rivers nearby.

ravensoaponarope · 09/02/2020 17:54

West Wales coast. Lots of fences down. Animals unnerved.

TheDarkPassenger · 09/02/2020 17:57

We’re in north east but in a valley so it’s okay really here, nothing dramatic. The pub still has its flappy signs out and although they are blowing a bit they’re not taking off yet!
