To expect DH to do this for me

Every weekend DH cooks breakfast.

And every weekend my fried egg is too hard.

I only like dippy eggs. If he's going to go to the trouble of cooking bacon, black pudding, square sausage, mushrooms, eggs and toast, he could at least get the eggs right.

AIBU to expect him to take more care?

@TheMustressMhor I hope your egg was perfect this morning.

Who knew frying eggs could be such a minefield going by the many opinions on here. Grin

BabySharksMummyShark · 02/02/2020 10:17

😂😂😂

I think the toddler agreed with you Mustress he didnt touch it!

TheMustressMhor · 02/02/2020 10:18

Egg was 8/10 this morning.

Not perfect but greatly improved.

BabySharksMummyShark · 02/02/2020 10:21

Thats good! He might get 10/10 next week?

FrangipaniBlue · 02/02/2020 11:45

gently spoon fat over the yolk which goes opaque as the white rapidly cooks, leaving a perfectly warmed 9but not hardened) yolk beneath.

This is exactly what we do!!!

@BabySharksMummyShark that is a most eggselent first fried egg!!!

We had fried egg sandwiches for tea last night as a direct result of this thread Grin

ThatUserNamesTakenTryAnother · 02/02/2020 11:53

Very sad post

BabySharksMummyShark · 02/02/2020 12:19

Hahaha! Love the pun and thank you @FrangipaniBlue i am proud of it! Were the egg sandwiches good? My fried egg was because of this thread 😁

TheMustressMhor · 02/02/2020 13:15

I think you need lessons in cooking fried eggs, BabyShark.

Mr. Mhor is available next Thursday if that suits you?

OP posts:
BruceAndNosh · 02/02/2020 13:19

I'm Team OP.
A hard egg when you want a dippy one is so disappointing

TheMustressMhor · 02/02/2020 13:36

Thank you BruceAndNosh - it spoils the whole breakfast experience, doesn't it?

OP posts:
BabySharksMummyShark · 02/02/2020 13:45

Haha Mustress! I really do need lessons! I can do thursday? Does he mind? 😂

I would like to add my opinion now! I like dippy eggs so dippy all the way!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/02/2020 13:56

Babyshark - that is an excellent (eggselent?) first attempt.

I see great potential in you on the egg front.

Well done, that wumman!

TheMustressMhor · 02/02/2020 13:56

I have a feeling that suggesting Thursday was hopeful and unrealistic.

It looks like the patio will be occupying Mr. Mhor's time for absolutely ages.

OP posts:
SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/02/2020 13:57

Oh! I've just seen that someone else has made the same pun.

Apologies to Frangipani, Babyshark and all others who were affected by my post.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/02/2020 14:02

If any regular controversial poster disappears from this forum, (or anyone's "difficult" neighbour) we''ll know where to find them MustressMhor

We all know what patios are used for on MN. . . .

FrangipaniBlue · 02/02/2020 14:11

I love this thread lol

Attitude84 · 02/02/2020 17:50

If you’ve mentioned it before n he’s not taken any notice, maybe show him?

MacBlank · 02/02/2020 17:53

Not everyone can do runny eggs. My ex couldnt, and my ex flatmate couldn't either. So I'd do them.

My wonderful fiancee can do eggcelent runny eggs. However, it wasn't until she met me, did she cook the bacon n sausages in the oven, before that she'd fry the bacon n sausages.

When doing a roast dinner, I do the gravy,.. you don't better than me, and it's always nice, so you do it.

What's the harm in joining in? This would stop you being ungrateful, but still give an extra half hour in bed.

Even if Jane does the whole fry up, I'll come at the last min and nuke the beans/tomatoes, and brew the tea.

So either, shut up n out up, or help, and have the eggs you want.

Mamawingingit1234 · 02/02/2020 17:57

I originally clicked AIBU as I thought I’d love to have my breakfast cooked for me but I get annoyed when DH cooks bacon and it’s still mooing whereas I only like it crispy and he knows this. So I get it

cherish123 · 02/02/2020 18:00

Yip. Make it yourself if you want it a particular way. I always prefer to make things myself and it's usually best.

Aglet · 02/02/2020 18:02

Timing doesn't have to be an issue. To make a non greasy fried egg, put a little oil in a non stick pan on a medium heat. Then, put the egg in, put a lid on and turn it down low. While you are dishing up the bacon etc. the egg will cook. You can increase the heat if you want crispy bits.

Jack80 · 02/02/2020 18:39

Maybe have a conversation about how you both like your eggs, that's a hint

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/02/2020 18:51

DH cooks bacon and it’s still mooing

The pigs round your way must be a rare breed!

Go without the eggs?
