AIBU to think this is still one of the best Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes?

I'm definitely going to watch this all over again. Unfortunately I only have it on tape! I have no way to play it but I wont part with it.

I loved it so much, I never felt so strongly about a series, I remember being GLUED to it.
And the weird thing is that I definitely have a type, and Spike was so pale and fair and nothing like that. I loved him though.

My favourite part ever was when Willow met Buffys ex'es new girlfriend, and was talking to her and she seemed so nice. Then she walked off, and Willow turned to Buffy and just said 'what a bitch'

Now that's a real friend.

MorbidMuch · 31/01/2020 18:38

These endless days are finally ending in a blaze.

Dan68 · 31/01/2020 18:38

I strongly strongly encourage you all to watch this, it’s very interesting!

I’m not exactly quaking in my stylish yet affordable boots

SurpriseSparDay · 31/01/2020 18:44

It doesn’t seem quite fair that one person was able to write the script, the score and direct that episode. It was flawless.

I’ve just finished watching every episode of every season - and it is almost certainly the best television ever. Amazing that it gets better over time - even with some clunkiness and awkward things that we wouldn’t do now. Season Five was when it really took off. And James Marsters was quite spectacularly, unbelievably beautiful. I have terrible withdrawal symptoms ...

StillMedusa · 31/01/2020 18:45

Love love LOVE Buffy... and my kids were young teens when it was at its peak so we watched as a family ..we can all sing every word and frequently do in the car!

Every so often we feel the need for a Buffy marathon..good for the soul :)

The Body, Band Candy, Tabula Rasa, the Gift, Touched.. so many brilliant episodes.
My favourite moment tho is when Buffy returns from the dead, and walks down the stairs and Spike realises it's her...his face.... swoons....

WiddlinDiddlin · 31/01/2020 18:47

YADNBU... we are re-watching from the beginning at the minute and I can't wait for this ep.

3luckystars · 31/01/2020 18:50

What else is James Marsters in? I've never seen him since.

3luckystars · 31/01/2020 18:52

Also, where can I get the episodes now? My box set of tapes dont work. Will I have to buy the DVDs?

I have to see it. I'm singing it since I read the title!

WiddlinDiddlin · 31/01/2020 18:55

We're watching on Amazon prime video.

BertieDrapper · 31/01/2020 18:56

@singlebutmarried
Surely you have to watch Angel alongside buffy.... there's a few cross overs! The one when spike goes to LA is fabulous and he's mocking him was so funny...

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 31/01/2020 18:56

The best!! I thought I was the only person that remembered how superb this was, I quite often sing 'where do we go from here?' in general conversation, I get funny looks.

Damnthemansavetheempir · 31/01/2020 18:58

Dawn's in trouble, it must be Tuesday

Absolutely love Buffy and Angel, I am currently introducing my 12 year old DD to Buffy, she loved once more with feeling, but we do love musicals in our house lol

Soubriquet · 31/01/2020 19:00

Yes it’s free on amazon prime

Angel isn’t though

Dd and I listen to the sound track on the way home from school.

I am so proud of her excellent taste in loving Buffy.

HumphreyCobblers · 31/01/2020 19:01

I often ponder which track I would use when I get asked to be on Desert Island Discs.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 31/01/2020 19:02

OP can we be best friends please and have buffy singalongs with wine in our pjs?

Dan68 · 31/01/2020 19:04

I must be in the minority, I hated the Angel show (apart from Cordelia and Angel himself)

Lazydaisydaydream · 31/01/2020 19:04

Ahh Ive found my people. Can recite this entire episode from beginning to end from memory (and often do, much to my husband's disgust Grin)

I have a shameful Buffy secret though.... Every few years I watch the whole thing from the beginning.... But I've never watched more than the first half of the last series. I can't bear to know how it ends or to know that there then won't be any new episodes for me to watch Blush

CoraPirbright · 31/01/2020 19:04

YABU - Hush and Tabula Rasa are the best ones.

I find the drippy little sister desperately irritating.

WiddlinDiddlin · 31/01/2020 19:06

Lazydaisy - not the only one, I have seen the whole thing now but first time and second time round, I did not watch the final episode for the same reason!

I also didnt read the last terry pratchett book... same thing, if I don't finish it, it's still out there, it never ends!

Soubriquet · 31/01/2020 19:07

Yes!

Yes we can

Dozer · 31/01/2020 19:08

What age do you think DC need to be to watch Buffy? Would love to introduce them to it.

MorbidMuch · 31/01/2020 19:11

Thank you Dan68!

The last episode of Buffy is amazing. There is then a whole series of Angel after it to lessen the pain. Angel does have a crappy dip in the middle, but I loved the final series (even though it was cut short by the writers' strike)

Soubriquet · 31/01/2020 19:15

Well it is a 12, but I would say a sensible 10 year old would be fine

As long as they aren’t prone to nightmares as some, like hush, are creepy
