Thank god we are only a few hours away from being a free and independent and a global outlooking country! Happy VEU day everyone!!
Let's all join together, enjoy and celebrate our victory over antidemocracy and enjoy our new found and hard fought freedom!!

Will the £350m for the NHS go per week, or will it be £50m per day?

And will the shower of cunts who showed us up in the European parliament this week now not get their MEP salaries?

RunForBurritos · 31/01/2020 17:27

I am not leaving the EU myself, and I am not leaving Britain yet. Though I'm sure OP would love it if I did. Sorry sweetheart, this immigrant is still eating your gammon.

ThePlantsitter · 31/01/2020 17:29

'as well informed' - as your post is just vague imprecise fudgery we wouldn't know if we were 'as well informed' as hubby would we. And still no concrete reasons because you'd do him a disservice to try to explain them. Don't bring him into it then.

Sallysaved · 31/01/2020 17:32

Op happy brexit day indeed and happy democracy day... Because finally democracy is happening too after being held captive for 3 plus years.

We should all be glad about that, leavers and Remainers alike.

🎉🎉🎉🍾🍾🍾🍾🎊🎊🎊

SueEllenMishke · 31/01/2020 17:33

So what plantsitter shall I make it up? Remember the conversations we had over 3 years ago in exact detail.
Who are you to say who I can and can't bring into it?
I wasn't angling for a political discussion especially as we're on the same side.
It's not wrong to point out that not all leave voters are uninformed or stupid. It is okay to admit that ....it doesn't make your view or opinion any less valid to recognise there are informed, intelligent people on both sides.

DoTheNextRightThing · 31/01/2020 17:34

Regardless of whether you are a leaver or a remainer, this is cringe.

Cinammoncake · 31/01/2020 17:37

Because finally democracy is happening too after being held captive for 3 plus years.

We should all be glad about that, leavers and Remainers alike.

Sorry who's held us captive? as I must have missed that Confused

Partyforone · 31/01/2020 17:37

as don't have an honours degree its very judgemental of you guys to judge me for not knowing how to write it. oh well, you guys are aspiteful bunch.

SueEllenMishke · 31/01/2020 17:37

Oh I know....I'll get him to write a post when he gets home because we all know how much the users of MN appreciate a make point of view. 🙄

ThePlantsitter · 31/01/2020 17:38

I was responding to your question as to whether we're all as well informed as your husband. As nothing about your post tells us how well informed he is or what his reasons were it is pointless to ask that question. I'm not saying you can't do it, you have done it. I'm just saying it doesn't demonstrate your point.

smemorata · 31/01/2020 17:38

happy democracy day
Yay! So democracy would be being, for all intents and purposes, part of the EU for another year but having absolutely no say in anything at all?

TeddyIsaHe · 31/01/2020 17:38

@Sallysaved yes yes, but WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BREXIT. And not the bloody fish 😂

Sorry to shout but leavers are quite selectively deaf when this is asked.

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 31/01/2020 17:40

Surely the time to celebrate is on December 31st/Jan 1st when the transition period is over and things will actually change? For now we are still bound by the EU but have no say during transition. 2020 will be a frantic rush to secure deals so that we aren't completely fucked when we finish transition. Nothing returns to pre EU membership at 11pm tonight. It's just the start of change and a bit premature to celebrate tonight.

SueEllenMishke · 31/01/2020 17:43

Other than getting him to write a post I can't prove that point can I?

It's okay to say all leave voters are ignorant and stupid with no evidence but not okay to say actually that's not true because I personally know some well informed leavers who are neither of those things??

fessmess2 · 31/01/2020 17:49

Oh f**ck off

ThePlantsitter · 31/01/2020 17:53

I didn't say all leavers are ignorant and stupid.

I can't think of any other reason except racism or xenophobia why someone would vote leave though. And nobody has provided one. We can all invent a husband with a phd but if the phd or the husband doesn't provide any reasoned argument what's the point?

Not that it matters now, since leave won. But I don't have to be at peace with it since nobody has fucking given any tangible reason why they decided to deprive me of my EU passport and rights. No. One.

Figmentofmyimagination · 31/01/2020 17:54

Boys from the public school down the road are hosting a black tie Brexit Party for their friends tonight. It’s almost as if their parents have had an insight and empathy lobotomy.

SueEllenMishke · 31/01/2020 17:56

But other people have.....it's unfair to brand millions of people ignorant, stupid and racist. That was the point I was making.

ListeningQuietly · 31/01/2020 17:57

Figment
Are they celebrating or mourning though?
At Universities up and down the land there are Brexit parties tonight but they are sad not happy
Be careful not to presume ....

QuiQuaiQuod · 31/01/2020 17:58

Surprised HQ havent deleted this thread as its become so left wing and remoaner.

Well said OP. No ones being smug, theyre relieved the bullies haven't won.

Been disgustingly accused of racism, xenophobia, stupidity, being old, etc etc.

ThePlantsitter · 31/01/2020 17:58

Unfair?

What's unfair is being robbed of rights and freedoms with nothing AT ALL in exchange. I really don't give a shit if leavers think being called thick for doing it is unfair. They won didn't they, what more do they want?

QuiQuaiQuod · 31/01/2020 18:03

The EU is still shaming us with its dignified and kindly approach, showing us up for the small-minded idiots we are.

No theyre not. Theyre shoving shit in our faces cos theyre losing our money pretty soon. its all a sham.

As for the brexit party and their British flags....the EU found that offensive yet were quite happy with the bollocks to brexit t-shirts which are not at all offensive, eh?

Cinammoncake · 31/01/2020 18:05

So you're happy to dismiss people as 'removers' and 'bullies' Hmm and not willing to understand that people are upset that you've taken away their right to live and work in 27 other countries, their childrens rights to do that, that you're jeopardising the economy, making people from the EU who live here feel unwelcome, taking away peoples rights to retire in the EU, and many other benefits. Scottish people, who voted to remain, are being forced to do this against the will of that country.

If anyones the 'bully' here it's the ignorant people who voted for this who don't understand why the half of the country who voted against it are upset by their loss of rights and European identity, by the gloating, and trying to appropriate the national flag into the bargain.

When it goes wrong, which it will, leavers are entirely to blame. At least now, they can take the full blame and stop trying to blame retainers and the EU. You have to own what happens next.

SueEllenMishke · 31/01/2020 18:06

Well, personally I'm not comfortable calling millions of people I don't know stupid and/or racist.
But if that's your bag crack on 🤷

DappledThings · 31/01/2020 18:08

Fuck me. I mean there's really no other response I have left to this monumental stupidity. Fucking hell.
