To ask those who work FT, what time do you get home everyday?

And what time do you leave in the morning?

I leave for the day at 7:20am and arrive home at 6:30pm. Working hours are 9-5. A lot of my time is spent waiting for public transport (trains mostly).

I feel like by the time I’ve got home I have no time to do anything! I’d love to leave be home earlier each day, but I wonder whether it’s ever possible (I work in the city) and what the norm is for other FT workers on here.

I leave home at 7-50. Drop boys at school on the way. Log in at 8-15. Twenty minutes for lunch. Leave work at 4pm. Pick boys up on way back through and home at 4-15. One of the reasons we moved was to totally minimise time wasted commuting.

Mimilamore · 28/01/2020 19:44

Leave at 7.55 home anywhere between 4.15 and 4.40 depending on whether I need to go to bank or shop. I get a lift to work and walk home

Monetmoney · 28/01/2020 19:51

I leave at about 8.20am and get home usually about 5.30pm

Concestor · 28/01/2020 19:58

When I worked, I left home at 6.55am to get the 7.15 train and would get home 8pm at the earliest and often more like 9pm.

I'm laughing a bit at 6.30pm being too late to do anything! There's four hours at least.

maddiemookins16mum · 28/01/2020 20:09

I start officially at 9pm, but leave home at 0750 to avoid the traffic and at my desk by 8.20/8.25am.
Finish at 5.30 on the dot and am usually pulling up outside home at 6pm.

Barbie222 · 28/01/2020 20:10

I leave just after 7, back 6 - 6.30.

RedRosie · 28/01/2020 20:17

Like some other PPs, I do compressed hours (FT hours in 4 days) and am at work (although sometimes from home) 7:30am to 5:30pm with a short lunch. To do that I'm out of the house roughly 6:15am to 6:45pm ish (if I don't need to stay later). Often a long day, but only usually four of them and my job is challenging but interesting. So I'm lucky.

bestbeforedateexpired · 28/01/2020 20:19

Leave at 06.30
Home at 19.00 if I’m lucky

ItFigures · 28/01/2020 20:22

WFH two days a week and home by 6 when I’m working in the City (unless I go to a class).

orangejuicer · 28/01/2020 20:24

Leave at 8, get there for 9.
Leave about 445, get home by 6.

MrsPworkingmummy · 28/01/2020 20:27

I leave at 7.30 and arrive in work by 8.30. I then leave work at 4.30 to be home by 5.30. I work 4 days as a teacher. Some days I leave 3.30,others not until 7.30 depending if there's a parent's evening.

emsworth · 28/01/2020 20:31

Leave 8.20am, drop son at secondary next to my work. Desk at 9am.
Leave 5pm home by 5.20pm.
Left London to not have the commute and it has been so worth it. Other half walks to work 10 mins.

happychange · 28/01/2020 20:31

Also work in the city but live in zone 2 so if I leave at 5, I get to the nursery around 5.45, then get home around 6.15-6.30 ish (depending on DS mood!)

MrsJBaptiste · 28/01/2020 20:33

I'm not full time but do work 4 days a week.

I leave at 8am and get in at just before 7pm as I go to the gym on the way home.

funday · 28/01/2020 20:40

I work 3 days per week. The days I work I leave at 6.15am, get to work just before 8am. Leave work at 4pm, pick kids up at 5.30pm, in the door at 5.50pm.
I have a drive to the station and then a train journey.

everythingisginandroses · 28/01/2020 20:48

6.30pm earliest, 9.45pm latest. It is tiring.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 28/01/2020 20:48

Live in a small city. Head to work at 745am. Usually home about 5.30pm

Lionsleepstonight · 28/01/2020 20:49

I leave at 8.40am, officially finish at 5pm but work over til 6 / 6.30 and home for 6.45pm.

everythingisginandroses · 28/01/2020 20:50

Oh, forgot about the leaving home bit. I leave 07:25 earliest, and no later than 08:15 (shifts, school run, commute).

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 28/01/2020 20:50

Leave at 7 get home for 5ish

Leave at 8 get home for 6 ish

(Work two different shifts 8-4 or 9-5)

Drive to work in London (not central)

opinionatedfreak · 28/01/2020 20:58

Between 18:00-19:00.

30min commute.

I start at 07:30.

This is why full time is actually only 4 days/week.

frankie001 · 28/01/2020 21:00

Leave 630 and don’t get home till 2200. I work long days, so get a few days off a week. Which I need to catch up on sleep!

user1487194234 · 28/01/2020 21:01

Leave house at 8
Drop DC at high school
Home by 5.10
as I moved to local job from city centre and I refuse to work late because my priority is getting home to be with the kids, cook dinner etc
Before I had kids I worked late every night
TBH I think I get through as much work now as I totally focus on work when I am there

Powerbunting · 28/01/2020 21:02

Leave half 6 to 7 am (depending on start time) get home 3pm one day a week 5:30-9:30 pm the rest. I work 15 minutes drive away
