AIBU to be annoyed Justin is on CBeebies all the sodding time

We don't even have the tele on that much, just occasionally at weekends and every time I put it on it seems like it's Justin, in one guise or another. I find him intensely irritating and DS isn't interested. (Yes, we do change channel). Why is he there all the fucking time? (Sorry for the language, need to vent and can't swear out loud !)

I like him, myself. I like the format of the shows, the slapstick, the quiz element in the new one. And Something Special really is special.

I can’t imagine disliking someone enough on TV to come on here and start a thread to be honest.

He really is everywhere on Cbeebies. But something special was such an important step forward for kids TV that I think he's earnt it.

Lazypuppy · 26/01/2020 17:30

YABU his shows are brilliant!

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 26/01/2020 17:31

I like Captain Adorable. I made my Year 2 class watch a clip (we are thinking about superheroes, so I do have some excuse).

Iooselipssinkships · 26/01/2020 17:33

It's ok OP. I think he's Satan

Lizzie030869 · 26/01/2020 17:33

I know what you mean, OP, it was a relief when my DDs grew out of CBeebies; it was hilarious when they poked fun of Mr Tumble. My pet hate is the way food is wasted when they push pies into each other's faces.

thistimelastweek · 26/01/2020 17:34

OP, You do know you're not his target audience?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/01/2020 17:34

Won’t hear a word said against him!!!!

Tombliwho · 26/01/2020 17:35

You're not really the target audience are you.
My kids really love him in all his guises. 7 and 4 year olds absolutely love Gigglequiz and my 2 year old really enjoys Something Special and tries to copy the signs. They all like Justin's House too.
He is fun, he throws himself completely into entertaining children.

HappyPunky · 26/01/2020 17:36

Yabu. Watch an hour of ryan's toy review and you'll forgive Justin!!

Something special is amazing and I'm so glad it's on TV. The other programmes get a bit much though I wish they'd alternate a bit.

MaggieFS · 26/01/2020 17:37

Of course I know I'm not target audience but it's the frequency which grates. Once, perhaps twice a day, would be bearable but he's on so much!

Try & find the thread on here where people were writing / sharing Justin and Mr Tumble fan fiction. THAT kind of fan fiction 🤮.

Dhalandchips · 26/01/2020 17:38

Definitely Satan's spawn. Apparently he's a bit of dick in real life too!

My kids used to think his name was "thattwat Justin" because that's what I'd say when he came on the telly - and my eldest is doing GCSEs this year. I can't believe he's still going.

TheVanguardSix · 26/01/2020 17:50

My kids loved him!
We took DS (18 next month!) to see Justin live on stage at Wembley when he was 4. I can't believe it. What's weird is how I've aged (I'm only about a year younger than Justin), my kids have grown, but Justin Fletcher doesn't change.

Lizzie030869 · 26/01/2020 17:56

He was fine 15yrs ago. Now he just looks like the dodgy uncle at the family party and is creepy as fuck.

I agree with you there.

mummyof2ds · 26/01/2020 17:58

My youngest used to absolutely love him we even went to butlins to go see him

Noodledoodledoo · 26/01/2020 18:03

My daughter learnt to turn the telly off when he came on very young! She is still not a fan of Mr Tumble or Something Special but loves Gigglebiz!

happychange · 26/01/2020 18:12

DS lovessss Justin! So yes YABU Wink

One of my friends know him in real life and said he's a really nice guy

Heckythump1 · 26/01/2020 18:22

We saw him on stage at Butlins... I'm not going to lie... Had tears in my eyes when he sang the goodbye song and the children were all just besotted with him!
We also love Gigglebiz/quiz!

calpolatdawn · 26/01/2020 18:26

i actually think his impressions of women are quite funny, hes one of a kind. can we stop saying that all men who are good with kids that don't look like ex boyband members are creepy.

NaviSprite · 26/01/2020 18:31

YANBU OP and I’m so glad that my twins aren’t at all bothered with him yet as I can only take that level of forced joyful-ness in small doses!

I hope they never do decide he’s their favourite because their sodding Aunt bought them a load of his DVD’s (lighthearted here before anybody thinks I’m being an ungrateful dick!).

Much prefer Hey Duggee and the madness that is Pocoyo Grin

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 26/01/2020 18:37

Wasn’t there a poster who had carnal relations with him and said he has an enormous penis?
