We don't even have the tele on that much, just occasionally at weekends and every time I put it on it seems like it's Justin, in one guise or another. I find him intensely irritating and DS isn't interested. (Yes, we do change channel). Why is he there all the fucking time? (Sorry for the language, need to vent and can't swear out loud !)

Didn't really have much of an opinion on him until I worked with him a few years ago. He seemed lovely until one night he started loudly moaning about a disabled child that was waiting at the stage door for him. Found him fake and arrogant after that, and will switch over when he appears on the tv.

PhilCornwall1 · 26/01/2020 19:53

He literally makes my skin crawl. Gives mega “get in my van” vibes.

And he probably wouldn't touch you with someone else's either!

SidsWife · 26/01/2020 19:54

Whatever! The things people say on here about male celebrities, but Justin has a special pass? Weird.

JammyGem · 26/01/2020 19:54

I also hold a slight grudge against him anyway because (way before I let him) he received an honorary degree during my graduation service and DM was so excited that I was graduating with "Shawn the Sheep" that I felt rather upstaged Grin

Peoplearemiserable · 26/01/2020 19:55

YABU, we love Justin in this house! I even catch myself watching his shows, seeing the children’s faces light up is wonderful. My DS loves his programs.

JammyGem · 26/01/2020 19:55

*before I met him

Nanny0gg · 26/01/2020 19:57

Yabu. Watch an hour of ryan's toy review and you'll forgive Justin!!

Absobloodylutely!

Much prefer Hey Duggee and the madness that is Pocoyo

Oh! I agree totally there. I'd forgotten about Pocoyo. Must get DGC off the crap programmes she watches on Kidstube and find Pocoyo

Elderflower14 · 26/01/2020 19:57

@JammyGem I find that hard to believe... 😔 😔 😔

YABU! We love him

JammyGem · 26/01/2020 20:03

@Elderflower14 It shocked us FoH staff as well at the time, considering his work. The poor kid was just excited to meet him, and I'm not convinced he wouldn't have heard Justin loudly moaning about not being left alone.

Nanny0gg · 26/01/2020 20:04

The only programmes I can bear on CBeebies are those that aren't pushing a 'message'.

So, anything Justin
Hey Duggee (best of the best by far)
Um... I would have added Timmy Time but they've ruined it by using voices! They were perfectly understandable without (in fact that was what made it so clever)

Everything else is so worthy

Elderflower14 · 26/01/2020 20:06

Maybe he was having a bad day? 🙄

june2007 · 26/01/2020 20:06

Mr tumble annoying. But i like giggle biz.

donquixotedelamancha · 26/01/2020 20:13

This is literally what all of my parent friends think.

If history has taught us anything it's that the daily mail were right all along and everyone who looked and acted like some sort of ridiculous stereotype of a paedophile actually is one. How Noel Edmonds has escaped justice I will never know.

The only programmes I can bear on CBeebies are those that aren't pushing a 'message'.

Ugh, I know: Why can't they accept that half the country voted against time travel for the purposes of obtaining dinosaur specimens? Also, that Topsy and Tim episode with Jeremy Corbyn was terrible.

Maybe he was having a bad day?

It's PPs story. If she decides to make him evil in it they that's her choice.

dannydyerismydad · 26/01/2020 20:21

I went to a book signing when DS was a toddler. He stayed way longer than he was scheduled to and made a point of leaving his table to head down the line to children who were unable to queue. Watching him spend ages communicating in makaton to 2 children in a wheelchair was a beautiful thing. He spent so long individually with each child that day. I think he's fabulous.

Daftodil · 26/01/2020 20:24

Something Special is ok, but I agree that cbeebies is just saturated with him! I can't bloomin stand Justin's House. Surely there are other people in BBC House with ideas for kids shows and someone must have the number for some other actors/presenters! Mix it up a bit, Beeb!

@Cryingoverspilttea Hell yeah re Andy Day! 😍

Peanutbutteryogurt · 26/01/2020 20:32

I really like him and DD loves Justin's house and something special.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/01/2020 20:33

Ah no man, you can’t hate on Justin per se

Agree he’s on v v frequently but I do like GiggleQuiz and Something Special means my two year old and three year old can sign “animals”
“market” and “sheep” and that’s their party piece they whip out for unsuspecting visitors.

I confess, I think all the time “please don’t ever let us find out he’s totally Yewtree” but that’s more to do with me than him.

His work for CBeebies is great and at the risk of sounding cheesy but I think he’s brought into all our lives a little bit more equality, inclusivity and understanding with Something Special that considering the state of current affairs can be no bad thing.

Fucking hell I’ve just made myself cry.

Lizzie030869 · 26/01/2020 20:48

Daffodil, I agree, I was okay with 'Something Special' and Mr Tumble, as my DD1 (now 10) has hearing aids and loved it when she was a toddler (it helped with potty training, as she used to watch it whilst on the potty).

I absolutely hated 'Justin's House', though, as it interfered with tea time and I hated the waste of food.

Rosebel · 26/01/2020 20:48

JammyGem I can well believe that actually.
I'm sure when my daughter's were young there, was an article about him being like this.

newlifenewme2020 · 26/01/2020 20:57

Ryan’s toy review!!!! OMG it got unbearable when the mum and dad joined in

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/01/2020 22:31

Gigglebiz reminds me of a citv program I watched as child about a giant comic coming to life in small skits, was it Zap ?!

CooCooCoo · 26/01/2020 22:44

Can’t say a bad word about him either. Something Special was a legit life changer for us in our house, got our child to talk eventually and I did the official Makaton foundation and intermediate courses.

I do think the comments about him being dodgy is shady, on what grounds do people have to say that? That he’s a older children’s presenter on BBC?
