AIBU to be annoyed Justin is on CBeebies all the sodding time

We don't even have the tele on that much, just occasionally at weekends and every time I put it on it seems like it's Justin, in one guise or another. I find him intensely irritating and DS isn't interested. (Yes, we do change channel). Why is he there all the fucking time? (Sorry for the language, need to vent and can't swear out loud !)

YANBU - He’s in every panto, 4 of his own shows, CBeebies at the proms and the Shakespeare plays they do.
He comes across so false and he’s just always there.
We don’t watch much CBeebies but when we do, I have to turn over when he’s on the screen.

newlifenewme2020 · 26/01/2020 18:44

He does my head in but I do admire him as he has done lots for disabled children and special needs
I once remember on here someone went to college with a women who had slept with him. Does anyone else remember that post?

newlifenewme2020 · 26/01/2020 18:45

Ah
TheWildRumpyPumpus
Didn’t see your post before I posted
Yes that was it and I am sure it was a mate of the poster

PinkiOcelot · 26/01/2020 18:46

He was on all the sodding time when mine were little. They’re 18 and 15 now. He must be worth a fortune!

singtanana · 26/01/2020 18:47

can we stop saying that all men who are good with kids that don't look like ex boyband members are creepy

Totally agree with this. It’s outrageous to say you think someone may be or ‘looks like’ a paedophile (and I assume calling someone creepy is what you are insinuating) because of their outward appearance. We would not tolerate, rightly, someone describing a woman as a tart/slag/whore because of how they dress.

justasking111 · 26/01/2020 18:50

Irritated me years ago with my own DS, now my grandchildren stop whatever they are doing fall to the floor looking rapt whenever he comes on. Whatever he has the children love it.

PrinkingPreening · 26/01/2020 18:51

YANBU

He is in everything. Soon there will be no other presenters or actors on CBeebies at all. It's like Amazon or Google taking over and edging everybody else out. OK, he's obviously a grafter (when does he sleep?!) but we do need a bit of variety.

Have a look at his Wikipedia entry... it's huge and a bit scary.

THE FUTURE IS JUSTIN

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 26/01/2020 18:52

DS used to watch him on Tikkabilla. He turns 20 soon (DS not JF Grin)

BecauseReasons · 26/01/2020 18:54

I agree with you, OP. If up to me, it'd just be Hey Duggee all day. I love that show.

SimonJT · 26/01/2020 18:56

We love him in this house, we really love something special and watch one in bed together every friday night.

Rosebel · 26/01/2020 18:56

Thankfully my children are too old for CBeebies but yes he used to annoy me. Okay Something Special was a good idea and can't complain about that but everything else was just annoying and he was very annoying.
Unfortunately my children quite liked him, especially Justin's House, but he used to make me want to reach for the wine!

MeOldBamboo · 26/01/2020 18:58

We love him in our house and they’ve outgrown CBeebies. Go and see him in Reading panto if you want to see him at his best. Absolutely brilliant and fantastic comedy timing.
I think he’s done wonders for children’s telly, just like the old days of Brian Cant, Derek Griffiths and Roy Castle.

TheBitterBoy · 26/01/2020 18:59

Try living in his hometown where he does the panto every year. We go elsewhere now rather than see the same character over and again.

Chops2017 · 26/01/2020 19:02

I think yabu, I really like him and his shows I think he's a very talented man

This is a man who should be knighted IMO, for the joy he's brought my Special Needs DC.
Her face is a picture of pure joy when he appears on tv.
She's 18 years old with a mental age of around 5, and I won't hear a word against him.

And the children who appear on Something Special...look how happy they are when they see him, and have learnt Makaton and do all the signs ''Mr Tumble's spotty bag'' etc.

DC loves Gigglebiz too, and Justins House.
Seriously, for the joy he brings to children with learning difficulties, he is the biz.

Agree with MEoldbamboo too, the modern day Brian Cant etc.

MeOldBamboo · 26/01/2020 19:20

And he should be on Strictly. The man can dance I’m telling you!

MsVestibule · 26/01/2020 19:33

My DCs are past CBeebies age (it's now all bloody YouTube and Xbox) but they loved Justin. I really enjoyed Gigglebiz.

Also, Something Special was on at 9.45 on a Saturday morning - it was the only time we could guarantee the DCs wouldn't leave the lounge, so DH could enjoy a (very quick) bit of something special upstairs 😀.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 26/01/2020 19:37

Sidswife what a horrible thing to say. Unfounded. The man has brought joy to many a child with his creativity and talent.

Elderflower14 · 26/01/2020 19:44

Have reported @SidsWifes disgusting comment 😡
Justin has brought signing to so many people and made it cool.
My ds2 has met him three times. Even though he is an adult he was on stage with J recently at the pantomime and he had a fab time...

PhilCornwall1 · 26/01/2020 19:46

it seems like it's Justin, in one guise or another. I find him intensely irritating and DS isn't interested. (Yes, we do change channel). Why is he there all the fucking time?

He's there because he's minted. He's made a shitload of money acting the tit on CBeebies.

Crunchymum · 26/01/2020 19:46

He passed us by with the older 2 kids but our youngest is disabled, globally delayed and completely non verbal. Something Special really is just that. My little one can sign almost the whole song (both hello / goodbye rendition) and the older 2 pick up so many random signs which they retain and put into use. My fave is the sign for Dinosaur.

Not seen him in anything else!!

I really don't want to be that poster but how much tv do people watch to get sick of him?

SidsWife · 26/01/2020 19:50

Unfounded? I’ve not accused him of anything Grin just the vibe he gives off to me.

slipperywhensparticus · 26/01/2020 19:50

Could be worse my youngest is into Russian tanks on YouTube...in Russian with weird storylines I've just heard a rendition of "my heart will go on" ...and then more shooting

Justin would be a welcome distraction

Elderflower14 · 26/01/2020 19:52

@SidsWife stop digging a bigger hole! 🤔 🤔🤔 🤔
