Hi there,

You may or may not know that a few years ago, Mumsnet users helped Dreams create the ‘Mumsnet Mattress’ by telling them exactly what they wanted from a mattress. A group of Mumsnet users were involved all the way through, from developing the concept to the final product arriving in the store.

We want to work with brands to make more ‘Mumsnet’ products that make parents’ lives easier, and that’s where we’d like your help please. Where do you think there’s a gap in the market for the perfect...what? Is it the perfect nursing bra? Or maternity jeans? Or family-friendly car? What haven’t we thought of that doesn’t exist yet?!

Whatever product you think could be improved (or created) to make your life easier, please tell us below and we’ll do what we can to try and make it a reality.

Thanks - MNHQ

I would like a pot that is easy to piss in when you need to give a urine sample. Sure I'm not the only one who has issues trying to aim into the little sample containers without getting pee all over hands! Or a secondary (preferably non plastic) container to pee in and pour from that won't contaminate the sample in any way.

Also I would like more decent pockets in my clothing please.

@LemonPrism - A Tile would work if they made them smaller. I especially want something that can be attached to spectacles and hearing aids, and even the smallest Tile is too big and clumsy to wear on those.

@onemorerep
Have a look at :
Pink elephant it's an Australia. Site but I think it might be why you are looking for - they are wonderful and it's all internet based so it won't matter that you are in the Uk miscarriagesupport.org.au

I'd like something that cleans my long hair quickly & removes faff of washing & drying it as my hair would need washing daily to not look greasy, dry shampoo doesn't really cut it so 2nd day hair is always tied up.

Bananatrain · 24/01/2020 02:35

A machine that can see what my dog continually stares at in the corner of the room shudder.

nearlynermal · 24/01/2020 07:11

Something to stop the bottom third of every tube of lipstick going to waste (after I've saved it for 3 years intending to use it up with a little lip brush and not being arsed)

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/01/2020 09:35

I agree with the easy to clean appliances. Why does the washing machine drawer have so many hard to clean areas? Why does it's door seal have so many grooves?

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/01/2020 09:38

I would love not to have to brush my teeth, it wakes me up when I'm tired. A mouthwash that fizzed away the plaque etc would be amazing. I fantasize about this all the time.

okiedokieme · 24/01/2020 09:39

A house that works for a real family - i viewed a 6 bed house, brand new with nowhere for a tumble dryer and only room for a small 6 seat table - go figure????

oldwhyno · 24/01/2020 10:07

The perfect dining room table.

The ideal car.

A mobile phone OS for teenagers. A social network for them too.

I think I’d like to develop the idea for an electric bike type thing first, a basic bike but with optional trailers for shopping, children, dogs.

They have something along these lines already in Denmark and the Netherlands, e.g. www.christianiabikes.com/

Havanananana · 24/01/2020 10:42

An app that could show you what clothes on internet shopping sites looked like on your actual body, instead of on a tall, size 8 model!

AmelieTaylor · 24/01/2020 11:51

@Disfordarkchocolate

Could you not just clean your teeth earlier and not right before you go to bed? I do because I don’t rinse after I clean my teeth and if I go straight to bed my mouth ends up really dry, so I find it better to do it earlier on.

AmelieTaylor · 24/01/2020 12:01

@Wasail. As @Havanananana said, you need to bike shop in other countries
I went to Copenhagen just before christmas and I have never seen such a variety of bikes...all different kinds of racks/carriers/boxes etc. Some behind the rider, some in front (and some had BOTH 😳)- from tiny to huge.

I’m not sure if they were ‘fixed’ or interchangeable - but you could get one that would be perfect 90% of the time for sure 😊

meorthem · 24/01/2020 12:08

a mini pressure washer for dishes so you don't have to use as much water soap or throw away sponges

CaptainButtock · 24/01/2020 12:48
  1. Carpet you can lift and stick in the washing machine.
  1. Coat hangers that don’t catch/snag on everything fucking else in the wardrobe.
BuzzShitbagBobbly · 24/01/2020 13:41

Something to stop the bottom third of every tube of lipstick going to waste

One of those 5 minute crafts vid showed them using a craft knife to cut down the lipstick tube, so the last dregs were no longer hidden.

(It's a useful tip I can at least share because I don't wear lipstick ever!)

DXBMermaid · 24/01/2020 14:23

Glas that doesn't get stained by water. Some proper coating on it that really truly works as a repellent for ever.

Bra's for big boobs that are comfy yet supportive. It seems now you can only get one or the other.

Havanananana · 24/01/2020 14:32

Re: Trailer-bikes: you need to bike shop in other countries

These are also available in the UK - the company websites show UK stockists

drspouse · 24/01/2020 14:42

I have an electric bike my DS bike attaches to with a Follow Me tandem. He loves the tandem (but I've had constant chest infections since I got the e-bike conversion so he thinks we'll be flying, I suspect, with the e-bike)

Lillygolightly · 24/01/2020 14:57

I would love some kind of built in Shute that goes directly from the kitchen to the outside bins and you would press a button to select the correct colour bin and then pop in your plastic bottles, cardboard or whatever into the Shute and it would decant it into the bin outside.

I hate having to collect the recycling rubbish on my kitchen side (where it looks messy) to take out at the end of the day braving the wind or rain and always having to do more than one trip and I can’t carry it all in one go. It’s such a pain in the ass and a complete faff!!

Potatopia · 24/01/2020 15:56

Something like a sling, but that keeps the baby propped up on my shoulder (anyone else's baby happiest there?)

DirtyTicket · 24/01/2020 16:13

A tablet for kids that stops head lice from living in their hair. Like the one the dog has to stop him having fleas. So many hours of my life have been dedicated to de-lousing my kids....

Notthebloodygym · 24/01/2020 16:41

Robotic steam mop for hard /tile floors.
