Hi there,

You may or may not know that a few years ago, Mumsnet users helped Dreams create the ‘Mumsnet Mattress’ by telling them exactly what they wanted from a mattress. A group of Mumsnet users were involved all the way through, from developing the concept to the final product arriving in the store.

We want to work with brands to make more ‘Mumsnet’ products that make parents’ lives easier, and that’s where we’d like your help please. Where do you think there’s a gap in the market for the perfect...what? Is it the perfect nursing bra? Or maternity jeans? Or family-friendly car? What haven’t we thought of that doesn’t exist yet?!

Whatever product you think could be improved (or created) to make your life easier, please tell us below and we’ll do what we can to try and make it a reality.

Thanks - MNHQ

oooh thanky you @Havanananana - exactly that!!!! I've been grumbling aobut this for years - and it seems someone was more procative than me Grin

Shockers · 22/01/2020 17:26

If you could put me in touch with someone who knows about producing apps, I’ve got a great idea. I’m not sharing it on here though, because someone might steal it 👀.

tinierclanger · 22/01/2020 17:29

A robot which crawls around the shower after I’ve used it and wipes it down/cleans the grout and then dries it.

Shannith · 22/01/2020 17:46

Some really good ideas. Let's hope no one nicks them Wink

A sieve with that weighs ingredients as you sieve so you don't end up with flour everywhere .

Shannith · 22/01/2020 17:48

Counter not corner and drop the with.

An edit function on MN.

sockittome123 · 22/01/2020 17:58

A baking business that is 100% nut-free... I know it's not a product, but still!

Booberella9 · 22/01/2020 18:18

@LightDrizzle it exists! Continental swimming pools sometimes have these solarium things, basically huge infrared light panels mounted vertically so you go and stand between them like a booth and get toasty and dry. Amazing and I would live in one if I could. At home all you need is the 2 infrared panels and some hardware to stick them on your walls..

cannotmakemymindup · 22/01/2020 18:19

A nursing/maternity bra that isn't obvious or comes up crazy high so you can wear normal clothes on top. Especially early pregnancy where you're already growing but don't want to change to a frumpy bra.

Booberella9 · 22/01/2020 18:22

Bras for narrow backs and bigger cups that aren't horrible. And available on the high street. Internet shopping is tedious, yes people rave about obscure brands only available online but .. the cost of buying 6 x £40 then sending 5 (or maybe 6!) back, traipsing to the post office, just cba.

I mean 50% of people have boobs it can't be that hard

Jakadaal · 22/01/2020 18:32

A non padded bra but that is seamed inside to give support to bigger busts but then with a smooth (non moulded) outer layer so you get a smooth t shirt bra effect but with the lift and support

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 22/01/2020 18:33

LightDrizzle "A walk-in air drier, like the Dyson air blade hand drier but for whole bodies"

Have you seen what those airblades do to the skin on your hand? I'm not sure I want to see my whole body rippling like that Shock Grin

TheBoogieMonster · 22/01/2020 18:36

A nursing bra that can be adjusted to accommodate all the changes your boobs undergo whilst nursing.
I'm through the busty phase and I refuse to buy new bras because they're £££ and ugly.

Also make them beautiful and affordable.

LizB62A · 22/01/2020 18:39

A bathroom/wetroom that I can clean from top to bottom with a steam cleaner

I'd love everything in my kitchen, from the smallest spoon to the actual cutlery drawer, to be dishwasher proof

A toilet roll holder that gives the user a small shock if they leave just two sheets on the roll (as that means they're not going to replace the roll, bastards)

A Robot vacuum cleaner that can do stairs

I'm sure there are more !

Tombero · 22/01/2020 18:40

I get so frustrated when I see the left over wasted energy after boiling food, using the oven, having a bath etc. I’d love to be clever enough to think of a way to reharness it and help climate change.

CreekIsRising · 22/01/2020 18:44

A device that helps you fold fitted sheets. I'm imagining something quite low tech, possibly that looks like a set square.

DeRigueurMortis · 22/01/2020 18:49

A duster that allows you to get cobwebs from gnarly wooden beams that doesn't compound the issue by leaving bits of fluff on the beams....

DeRigueurMortis · 22/01/2020 18:51

@shockers IT professional here. Feel free to PM me if you want some advice.

DeRigueurMortis · 22/01/2020 18:55

A washing machine with a dry clean function.

HalfSizeMe · 22/01/2020 19:04

A toaster that actually fits standard slices of bread

proudtrainspotter · 22/01/2020 19:07

Calorie free butter, cheese and cream that tastes like the real thing.

veryvery · 22/01/2020 19:08

A cotton wool holder thing which makes a small piece of cotton wool into a cotton bud. You'd put a small piece in the end and it would twist it round into a cotton bud. When you'd finished you could throw away the tiny piece of cotton wool and use the handle the next time.

In a similar vein a holder for some interdental brush type thing. You'd only have to throw the brush end away. Maybe some product research might mean that the brush end could be some sort of stiff twig fibre.

BackforGood · 22/01/2020 19:10

A 'like' button for threads like this so we can go "Oh yes, great point PosterX" without having to remember their name and then copy and paste bits to post.

Neverender · 22/01/2020 19:40

Self cleaning carpet 🙏

Neverender · 22/01/2020 19:43

Jakadaal what size are you? Anything a D or below I have THE comfiest bras from Pink by Victoria Secret. Every time I go to wear an M&S one, I physically recoil. They're the absolute (excuse me) tits!

Neverender · 22/01/2020 19:44

LightDrizzle they have massive walk-in dryers at Center Parcs
