Hi there,

You may or may not know that a few years ago, Mumsnet users helped Dreams create the ‘Mumsnet Mattress’ by telling them exactly what they wanted from a mattress. A group of Mumsnet users were involved all the way through, from developing the concept to the final product arriving in the store.

We want to work with brands to make more ‘Mumsnet’ products that make parents’ lives easier, and that’s where we’d like your help please. Where do you think there’s a gap in the market for the perfect...what? Is it the perfect nursing bra? Or maternity jeans? Or family-friendly car? What haven’t we thought of that doesn’t exist yet?!

Whatever product you think could be improved (or created) to make your life easier, please tell us below and we’ll do what we can to try and make it a reality.

Thanks - MNHQ

Omg I'm on a roll!

Isseywith4vampirecats I got a bed cover from amazon which you tie the corners into and it has a...ZIP! Game changer!

A device that gets a teenage out of 🛌 in the 🚿 and into 🥋 with 🥞 eaten and ready to go to 🏫 in just a minute with no deviation, repetition or hesitation.

Jakadaal · 22/01/2020 20:03

neverender sadly I'm a 36ff 🙁

MRex · 22/01/2020 20:18

Jakadaal - have you tried Elomi? I have wired and wirefree nursing bras from them (via Amazon) that are both great, the catch is firm so you wouldn't even notice you also have the ability to let your boobs out.

MRex · 22/01/2020 20:19

@Jakadaal that should be!

isseywith4vampirecats · 22/01/2020 20:32

@Neverender that looks ace but its the chucking the weight of a superking size duvet across the bed that I hate and with me 5ft6 and OH 6ft 4 he manages to wriggle most of the duvet over his side of the bed

Back seats in a family car that face backwards. So you put the carseat in the right way and its rear facing.

An alarm that goes off if a child is left in a car.

I have 2
A machine like made with lasers or something that you can step through and all hair vanishes from your body. Preferably one that only comes up to your shoulders so you don't lose the hair on your head or your eye brows 😂
Also a really thin suit you can wear under your clothes that you can charge that stays warm for 24 hours. And when I mean warm I mean like a freshly made hot water bottle because I'm always cold and still get funny stares for carrying my hot water bottle with me everywhere all winter. Especially the supermarket or when I'm on shift at work. Also it's sad when it gets cold and you don't have a kettle to refill it.

Like this one? (A one-second Google search brought up several alternatives)

The ability to see all of an OP's posts bundled together at the start of each thread so I don't have to scroll through pages and pages looking for updates! It drives me mad!

draughtycatflap · 22/01/2020 21:15

A super cat flap with no draughts and cleaning rollers like the car wash.

3luckystars · 22/01/2020 21:17

I wish if I used the treadmill that i could power the lights.
I often look at gyms and wish they could convert the energy into electricity.

Also sort of possible (I assume that you're not really awake 24/7)

For the 'hot' pants just Google 'Heated underwear for women'

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/01/2020 21:22

A range of environmentalist friendly toiletries for pre-teen and teenage boys, that can be bought in supermarkets and on the high street and are also reasonably 'cool'.

A breathalyser built into/retro fitted to every car that will immobilise it on the detection of drink/drugs that is mandatory by law to have fitted.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 22/01/2020 21:35

A nursing bra with built in leek protection

An app that plans your route as a pedestrian with a buggy. An add on also allows me to see which cafes, restaurants etc are big enough to accommodate a buggy and have children friendly menus.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 22/01/2020 21:35

Leak* ffs

belay · 22/01/2020 21:38

An app that can lock restricted mode on You Tube, on an android phone . There are no apps that can do this at the moment

Rosspoldarkssaddle · 22/01/2020 21:39

Self levelling spoon. One that no matter what way up it is held, the spoon bit stays upright like a gyroscope.
My kids always flipped the spoon mid way between bowl and mouth when feeding themselves and managed one in ten mouthfuls!

A breathalyser built into/retro fitted to every car that will immobilise it on the detection of drink/drugs that is mandatory by law to have fitted.

The technology and product exists - e.g. 'Intoxalock' - but the legislation is not in place in the UK. In some US states, previously convicted drink-drivers have to have these fitted in order to regain their license.
