Simple as that, best mate and I text daily, don't see each other often,I'm going through hell mentally at the mo awaiting a cancer diagnosis,(specialist are pretty sure, and will be getting final tests this week),and was looking forward to seeing her for a day out shopping and lunch tomorrow. Shes married by the way and said she had the opportunity to meet up for sex and would I mind?
I just feel it's a bit selfish as I have always been there for her and wanted other peoples thoughts

Good grief what a terrible friend. Selfish.

HollowTalk · 19/01/2020 22:06

I hope your test results are good - it must be so worrying for you.

She's the most horrible friend and wife imaginable. What would you miss out on if you dropped her like a hot brick?

FreedomfromPE · 19/01/2020 22:06

Yikes. You need a more reliable friend whose priorities aren't quite so fucked up. Chances are her husband still thinks she's shopping. Hmm

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/01/2020 22:10

I'd be tempted to tell her DH. The selfish bitch.

comedycentral · 19/01/2020 22:11

Your friend is shit! Is she using you as her alibi too?

Sorry to hear about your illness Flowers

Pumpkinpie1 · 19/01/2020 22:13

I hope you told her you did mind!!,
She’s not a real friend

Baileys38 · 19/01/2020 22:13

I know I sound like I'm over reacting but I cried when she sent me the message,I think I'm so stressed right now anything sets my emotions off.i just feel hurt and used? I dont want to over react but it's hard not to.
Thank you. I have final tests on wed, the hospital specialists are highly certain I have a rare aggressive cancer they just need to confirm. I keep hoping the hospital have it wrong and are just being over cautious.

OP posts:
Queenoftheashes · 19/01/2020 22:13

dreadful of her

elQuintoConyo · 19/01/2020 22:14

Well, I feel you have two options:

  1. Block her and dump the horrible woman.

....actually, that's all I've got.

In a time of such stress and worry, you need supportive people, not those who will dump you. It seems her morals are on the floor.

A dear friend of mine was seriously ill and she said it really showed her who her friends were. It was heart breaking.

A hand hold from me Wine

Queenoftheashes · 19/01/2020 22:14

If my friend was in your shoes sex would be the last thing on my mind!

Scarydinosaurs · 19/01/2020 22:16

You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.

Don’t give her the chance to fuck you over again.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/01/2020 22:19

There's an old saying. When you're in need you soon find out who you friends are

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 19/01/2020 22:19

She sounds pretty awful. Could you draft someone else in last minute?

Whoops75 · 19/01/2020 22:20

Is she using you as her cover to cheat ??

She’s not worth having as a friend.
Best wishes for what’s ahead x

Amatteroftime · 19/01/2020 22:20

Shit mate. Please don't waste any more time with her x

Neolara · 19/01/2020 22:23

That's pretty grim. And she's a really terrible friend. Sorry. Hope your doctor's appointment on Wed brings good news.

1Morewineplease · 19/01/2020 22:25

All good wishes wend their way to you.. 💐
As you your friend.... yeah... as PP said, sjesta using you as an alibi.
You don’t need a friend’ like this, especially not now. How unkind of her seeing as you must be going through such mental hoops right now.
Wave goodbye to her and wish her well.
She doesn’t deserve your friendship.
Good luck love!

QueenOfOversharing · 19/01/2020 22:26

I hope your appt goes ok on Weds & that they were being overly cautious! Everything crossed.

MilesHuntsWig · 19/01/2020 22:28

Does she know about your health situation? If so her behaviour is unforgivable, if not it's very bad behaviour on a number of levels.

I really hope everything goes as well as it can for you this week.

FloreanFortescue · 19/01/2020 22:29

Oh god OP this is not a friend!!!

If you can't rely on her at a time like this then when can you? And her poor DH on top of it all. Please tell him, you and he are being used by her.

Cherrysoup · 19/01/2020 22:34

Shit ‘friend’. She’s not worth your time and upset. Just ignore her, what a bitch.

LayAllYourLoveOnMe · 19/01/2020 22:40

Does she know about your health situation?

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 19/01/2020 22:44

Is she using you as her cover to cheat ??

Oh no! That’s an awful thought, but very very possible that she has. If I had the husband’s number, I’d be tempted to text him as if it was meant for her, saying “I’m sorry you couldn’t make it to see me tonight, but I’ll see you after I get my test results”. Let her explain to her husband when she gets home. But that’s because I’ve got less patience for people’s shit as I get older. I hope you get good news, OP.

Servalan · 19/01/2020 22:52

So sorry to hear you're going through such a horribly stressful time with your help, OP - and really wishing you all the best for good news this week.

Does your friend know about what you're going through health-wise?

staceyflack · 19/01/2020 22:54

I'm so sorry, she's being a cow. Give her a chance to redeem herself by telling her exactly how let down you feel. You will know by her reaction what to do next. Best foot forward with your health... & I hope you get lots of love & support from your more reliable friends / family. Flowers
