To be annoyed at CF parking

Gotten home from school drop off and a bit of shopping to find an unknown white van parked on the drive outside my house. No sign of anyone anywhere, loads of public places to park. It’s been there an hour now. I am tempted to block him in but don’t want to wake the baby if they return banging the door down. AIBU for being pissed off - WWYD?

Definitely block! I had this all the time when I lived in flats with allocated parking! Gives me the rage!

WallaceLocked · 17/01/2020 11:49

Yes, you are being totally unreasonable...Hmm

Sarky pants Hmm

OhMeows · 17/01/2020 11:51

YABVU to not block them in.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 17/01/2020 11:53

Now I want to see a photo of your cat. 😍

sunshinesupermum · 17/01/2020 11:54

Looks like a real CF. Wonder if he's left it there for the day to take a train somewhere?

I'd probably block him in too.

YasssKween · 17/01/2020 11:55

YABU not to include a clear picture of a pet mentioned in a post. How dare you Grin

Marnie76 · 17/01/2020 11:56

Might be worth a call to non emergency. It could be stolen/abandoned

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 11:57

My cat is pretty but vicious

I would block the van in and then find a different way to get to school for pick up Wink Wouldn't want to miss out on the change to ask CF wtf they are doing parking on someone's drive. Wouldn't move my car for a long time, maybe i've already had a few drinks so unable to drive..oops.

But that's me haha.

Zaphodsotherhead · 17/01/2020 11:58

If you are very rural it could be hare coursers. Although that's probably just me catastrophising (we get a lot of them round here, out 'walking' their lurchers....) Take the number just in case you see fourteen blokes with five greyhounds getting in and speeding off.

I am not deserving of her opening her eyes

It took me a while to find the cat, haha! YANBU. I've seen threads like this before, I've never understood how some people would think it's OK to park ON someone's drive?! Do the people who have voted YABU think it's OK to do that then? Hmm

I would definitely block them in. Annoying that it might wake your baby but I'd probably still do it anyway, they deserve it for being a CF.

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 11:59

We do have hares and those annoying loud deer

Maybe your hubby's bought himself a van? Wink

No seriously, that's darned rude and a bit suspect. I'd be worried it's been stolen and abandoned or something.

As others have suggested, park it in and leave a note with your number. If you need to go out in the car before they return, how about locking the wheel with a bike chain or something? And again leave note with number asking for explanation.

whoami24 · 17/01/2020 12:00

Gorgeous cat but block van in, really are a cf

Dagnabit · 17/01/2020 12:02

Write "why are you parked on my drive?" in red lipstick on the windscreen.

YasssKween · 17/01/2020 12:02

Haha get the cat to deal with him, she looks like she doesn't suffer fools gladly...

(Ps she is beautiful)

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 12:02

Just had a look around it - it has loads of parking tickets on the dash and receipts

And marvel stickers - I’m guessing young white can man with a penchant for CF parking

SafferUpNorth · 17/01/2020 12:05

How about a 101 call to the police - it might have been reported as stolen.

karencantobe · 17/01/2020 12:06

Setting off the alarm will have no impact on the van drover. It will disturb
your neighbours and your baby though.
I don't see how you can block the van driver in without blocking the road?

BruceAndNosh · 17/01/2020 12:07

Cover their bonnet with Dreamies and put your vicious cat on it...

KeepThosePlatesSpinning · 17/01/2020 12:08

I think we've had a similar thread before - vehicle had permisssion to park on the drive at 42 Albion Road and parked at 42 Albion Drive in error. Is your road name similar to any in the vicinity but block him in until it's sorted

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 17/01/2020 12:09

Have you checked you back garden in case someone is mistakenly doing your garden?
If so, don't disturb him until he's finished

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 12:09

The road is a dead end, we are the last house. I would just reverse back from the side of my house and the back of my car would block him in
