To be annoyed at CF parking

Gotten home from school drop off and a bit of shopping to find an unknown white van parked on the drive outside my house. No sign of anyone anywhere, loads of public places to park. It’s been there an hour now. I am tempted to block him in but don’t want to wake the baby if they return banging the door down. AIBU for being pissed off - WWYD?

Tbh as it's gone 5 o'clock I would now be calling the non emergency police number (101?) to inform them of an abandoned car on your property.

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 17:13

DH is in at 6, if they still haven’t moved I guess I will have to try 101 or something

I'd suggest giving thug cat a call at this point. They could be a crime fighting duo.

AriadnesFilament · 17/01/2020 17:19

101 won’t be interested - trespass is a civil matter, police deal with criminal law.

JKScot4 · 17/01/2020 17:21

I’d be surprised if it’s a workie, 5pm on a Friday, usually don’t by 2 😉

JKScot4 · 17/01/2020 17:21

*done not don’t

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 17:32

It was arsehole neighbour. He told his mate he could park there and then they both went off somewhere. Just caught them as van was leaving. He didn’t think I’d mind and he didn’t want his wife being blocked in as she might need to come and go - it’s hard now she has the baby! Said to me whilst I was holding my baby with my 5 year old in the doorway! He has reached platinum level diamond encrusted entitled status. I guess her car was in the drive and he couldn’t be arsed to move it and put the van in the back. I said I need that space and she has been out all day - no response. Such a twat

Can I be the first to mention...........................................

PENGUIN BOLLARDS

You neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed them

Get yourself some drop/raise bollards

Or a hefty "Sod Off" chain across the parking space

SallyLovesCheese · 17/01/2020 17:52

It's lovely, isn't it? They have a tandem drive but can't be bothered to spend 30 seconds rearranging cars, instead parking on someone else's land!

I'm always amazed there are people like this. I'm one of those people who never uses other people's drives even for turning around, yet here we have another example of someone parking there all day. The minds boggles.

AngryAngryAngryAngryAngry on your behalf

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/01/2020 18:10

Your neighbour is an arsehole.

theworstwife · 17/01/2020 18:39

He is indeed - it is almost like he doesn’t realise other people exist, like talking to a small child. I was so astounded by his reasoning I was almost speechless. I have parked my car there now anyway

Good grief. He is indeed a sold gold Cheeky Fucker. Well worthy of the title. Shock

Whynosnowyet · 17/01/2020 19:26

My friend's ndn parks his car outside her front room window as he doesn't want to see it while watching TV. His own words.
Leaves that to my friend...

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/01/2020 19:32

Outrageous! This has shades of the other thread about the people in the new-build road with the neighbours who don't want the inconvenience of being blocked in on their own drive by their own cars and have found an ideal solution - by blocking in the neighbour's car.

I'm starting to wonder if there's a faulty gene that some people have which renders them incapable of realising that other people have lives and equal rights too and aren't just lurking there taking up space in their world. Or maybe they start out normally as babies, expecting other people to simply serve and provide for them on demand, but then just never ever develop or mature.

DorisDances · 17/01/2020 19:48

Great thread OP and loving the cat!

User43742 · 17/01/2020 19:51

Wow just read the thread, what a complete and utter wanker your neighbour is. I’d have been screaming at him and warned him if he did it again then I wouldn’t be held responsible for any damage done to the vehicle.

ThanosSavedMe · 17/01/2020 19:56

Next time block him in then tell him you’ve had a drink so can’t move it

Wonkydonkey44 · 17/01/2020 20:03

He sounds a right dick!

KitKat1985 · 17/01/2020 20:13

Wow your neighbour really is a fucktard isn't he?

Straycatstrut · 17/01/2020 20:20

Wow! feel free to use their driveway as and when you please!

Get the bollards!

justilou1 · 17/01/2020 22:55

Neighbour needs to be told off and charged one day’s rent. Odious man.

amispeakingenglish · 18/01/2020 18:01

Surely its Trespass!! Get it towed.

PrtScn · 18/01/2020 18:03

My post got deleted for saying I thought the Gaz and Baz thread was a load of shite, and I put it very politely.

You were indeed vindicated and proven correct, but you're still supposed to report concerns instead of perceivably troll hunting. IN MN terms, you were acting like a sticky-beaked, net-curtain-twitching vigilante Grin
