(The title is supposed to be a light hearted joke....)

DH and I have one DD. She is 3. We are going on her first holiday in July. I felt like I lost myself a bit after having DD and really took to fashion and I really enjoy styling and putting together outfits, quite eccentric outfits with bold statements pieces.

Like my beloved sandals....

I have a beautiful pair of very eccentric, loud, chunky sandals. I bought them last summer and wore them all summer. As soon as we booked the holiday last month all I could think about was getting my sandals out for the 10 days and I day dreamed about different outfits to wear them with

UNTIL yesterday

We were having breakfast yesterday morning and DH says 'Its ds birthday next week, i'll see her at dm house tonight, i'll ask what she wants for her birthday'

He returned home to say she wanted a pair of my beloved sandals to take on holiday.......

DH then gave her his bank card to order them there and then.

AIBU to be annoyed by this?

They were going to be the only shoe I was gonna bring and apparently she is saying the same because theyre ££££

Dh and I spend £££ on DS and her husbands bday presents and they spend £££ on ours. DH has no other siblings and I'm an only child.

AIBU to annoyed? I don't fancy going around our holiday destination in the same sandals, it would be very noticable. She is 25 years older than me, our sense of style is usually very different so she would style them different to me and we won't be going around in the same outfits head to toe.... but still..... :(

I now need to see what OP's husband would do with a pair of crocs and some crystals.

OP you're taking these reactions like a hero. This thread is amazing!

Get yourself some new cloud shoes!

Ilovepinot · 16/01/2020 14:48

'Imitation is the finest form of flattery'

sunshinesupermum · 16/01/2020 14:49

Sorry but am not sure what's worse- the sandals themselves or the fact they cost almost a grand. This!

Just buy yourself a new updated pair (with your DH's credit card) and tell DSIL that the ones she's wearing are 'so last season'.

crustycrab · 16/01/2020 14:50

Can your DH vajazzle my crocs please?

TitsInAbsentia · 16/01/2020 14:50

@Hoppinggreen just when I thought it couldn't get wanky enough you made me go back and read the description...talk about priceless...I am picturing in my mind the person who wrote that Grin

Iwantacookie · 16/01/2020 14:51

Tbf I do like them I just wouldn't be able to pull them off.

strawberry2017 · 16/01/2020 14:51

I honestly think these designers make things up for a dare to see if they can get people to pay for them in the name of 'fashion'.

OP you're taking these reactions like a hero.

Yep, fair play LOL.

Owlypants · 16/01/2020 14:53

@crustycrab vajazzle is nothing to do with shoes, vajazzle is blinging up your fanny

Are you for real? Even my 78 year old mother in law wouldn't wear them , But my 85 year old father in law will with a nice pair of knee high socks too.

When i read your post i through they were a nice leather paid like the Hermes ones doing the rounds last year( zara and Dune did a very good copy and have them again this year) I understand your life issues but these are truly horrific. Sell them and buy you self and nice stylish leather paid that will look lovely

If you are going to spend that amount of money on a pair of sandles a least buy a stylish pair

Buggedandconfused · 16/01/2020 14:53

You are both pathetic for spending £1k on sandals and you are extra pathetic for bleating about your 1st world problem on here.

icannotremember · 16/01/2020 14:54

I would have totally loved those when I was 16 or so.

HellooooJenny · 16/01/2020 14:54

just me who loves them too? they're so cool

Letseatgrandma · 16/01/2020 14:54

OMG, those shoes Grin!!!

Sparrowlegs248 · 16/01/2020 14:56

Did you say she's 25 yrs older than you OP? Which makes you 23 . In which case, wear the hideous sandals all you like. Yanbu for being annoyed though.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 16/01/2020 14:56

Jesus Titty Fucking Christ, that means your household has given Gucci TWO GRAND for those utter monstrosities.

Pair o crocs, quick visit to a craft shop and a bit of hot glue gun action and you could have made two pairs of custom-designed sandals AND paid for your holiday.

NaomifromMilshake · 16/01/2020 14:56

One they are FUGLY

Two this is a stealth boast.

littleolwinedrinker · 16/01/2020 14:57

Yes I text DH to say I would like a new pair for mother's day.....

outherealone · 16/01/2020 14:57

Omfg they’re vile. Op you have to be messing with us? They’re literally like 40p tkmax bin-ends at the end of January.
Sorry but wtf?

ThunderboltandLightning · 16/01/2020 14:59

my SILis 47

Which makes you 22, if you are 25 years younger. I am struggling even harder to imagine a 22 year old dropping £1k (or 2) on those. Most 22 year olds don't have access to that kind of cash.

Sparklfairy · 16/01/2020 14:59

Just seen the price

PlumsGalore · 16/01/2020 14:59

I am stunned your DH bought his sister a pair of shoes that cost nearly a grand 😲😲😲 - is he always so generous?

JaffaCakeGal · 16/01/2020 14:59

wow, I could pay for an entire holiday with the cost of those truly awful sandals Shock
