Tk maxx yay or nay?

I have never really bothered with it, but as a bit of a bargain hunter I feel I may be missing out?!

Do you like it? What's the best thing you have ever found in there?

You need to hunt a bit but there's no denying you can get some good bargains. It's not somewhere I go regularly but if there's something specific I'd check there first (like a ski jacket which I got a good deal on).

Never really found anything good there

I don't like it but my bil is a big fan and recently gave me a gift card to spend there for my birthday. I did manage to find a few things I really like but it took me ages to find them. I left dh at home with the kids and ventured out on my own. I find it quite a messy shop and hate all the rummaging around you have to do to find anything decent.

Loads of things. I hated it at first, like a charity shop, all those random items on rails. Got used to it and have found some great items. I can spend ages in there. I go with DD sometimes and we get quite carried away meandering around looking at wierd and wonderful things.

I love a bit of TKMaxx roulette with the makeup, have picked up some stonking bargains there; Eve Lom, Laura Mercier, Kevin Aucoin, Rodial, Barr Minerals.
Also kids shoes, pyjamas, cashmere.
There’s a lot of tat but if you’ve got a spare half hour it’s definitely worth a rummage.

On the one hand it's the Seventh Circle of Hell. Like the worst jumble sale you've ever been too but with a whole load of added stress. Ceilings are low, lighting is harsh, aisles are too close together, it all looks messy, it's awful.

On the other hand I've bought designer jeans there for £20 or so, loads of good face creams, great cookware, a DKNY black blazer I've worn to death.

It's sort of worth gritting your teeth every once in a while and heading in there but you need to be in a place of zen-like calm before you enter the shop.

Nay from me. I've never found anything I want in there and it always seems like a jumble sale.

Have a look on their website. You might find it easier to navigate than a big shop.

Their gold label stuff is good if you like branded stuff.

It’s mostly a bunch of crap. Lots of early 2000s style items in non-designer-designer labels (DKNY bootcut jeans anyone?) for apparently huge mark-downs but aren’t worth the money anyway

Nay. Most of the stuff is cheap and nasty.

There is some good stuff, but there's also a huge amount of crap. One of the best tips I ever got, which also applies to charity shops, is to search by feel. Instead of looking, run your fingers over the rail of clothing and narrow down your search by the quality of the material. You'll find the good stuff much much faster that way than by, say, looking for your favourite colour. (They could easily have 50 blue jumpers, of which 2 might be natural fibres)

Some days I go in there and find loads, other days nothing. Brought a jumper the other day for £15, which is selling for over £300 on the designer’s website.

I have been to two different branches and a) I cannot be arsed to work so hard to find what I want and b) I have left both times with nothing.

I've found a few things in there. I'm wearing a non branded jumper from there today, it's grey,very soft with buttons down the back . I love it and would never have seen it in another shop. Ditto my purse, although googling the company it comes up as the manufacturer of many top brands.

Nope. To much like hard work. However, there seems to be bargains for the valiant shoppers.

I really like the homeware. I can't really get into trawling through the racks of clothes though.

There are occasionally great bargains but most of the cheap stuff is cheap because it's crap

I find it great for tops, shoes, jeans, sunglasses and evening / cocktail dresses.

I only ever go on a weekday evenings, as it's not a jumble and usually quiet. Oh, and go without expectation of finding a certain item, have a slow mooch instead to find a bargain.

The homewares are good too.

The clothes are a jumble of apparent designer labels which many folk have never heard of.
Homeware is better but you really need to check some of the items out as quite a bit of it is either full price or seconds ( sometimes very obviously.) e.g. Le Creuset with huge drips of enamel .
Pet stuff is usually good though.

It’s good for shoes, sportswear, socks and tights, the occasional bag/purse, presents for kids birthday parties.
Occasionally coats can be quite good. I avoid the rest of the clothes rails as it’s too much of a faff.

It's a 'no' from me. Rows and rows of clothes or shelves of clothes that you have to sort through. Household accessories all jumbled together. As a previous poster said it's like a jumble sale. (I don't like going to the sales in some stores for the same reasons).

I do go there if I want a nice decorated storage box for a present though.

I'd say go and look though if you've never been before. Just don't expect a well-organised shop.

I find the shop too difficult to use. Similar with vintage shops. For me it's easier to see product I like and then look for a size thay to look from a large rack with million different items. There are some good deals if you manage to find what you are looking for.

I prefer it for kitchen/home stuff. Feels quicker and easier to filter out the stuff I have no interest in.

I sometimes look at the clothes, esp if I'm looking to buy/replace something specific. I don't care about labels, just whether things meet my own requirements.
