I have never really bothered with it, but as a bit of a bargain hunter I feel I may be missing out?!

Do you like it? What's the best thing you have ever found in there?

Yes! Especially for coats, bags, boots etc. High quality expensive branded items for relative pennies. I have really small feet too so always lots left in a size 3 as not many people but it. They also have a great range of scarves.

I got a lovely carvella handbag in there the other week for £7. Had loads of compliments on it every time I use it.

Most stuff in TK Maxx is pretty expensive, and it's really difficult to find things because nothing is in order on the shelves/racks. I go occasionally because it sells things no other shops in town have (when they're in stock, which is unpredictable) and because it will occasionally have shoes that I would consider wearing, which no other bricks & mortar shops in the UK do. Even then I'll sometime put stuff back and walk out when I see how long the queue at the check-outs is.

Great for evening wear, can be hit & miss but I have bought 2 dresses which were beautiful an absolute bargain.

It also has the best range of purses, loads more styles than any other shop.

Sports clothes can be great as well but they sell out really quickly
That is the issue, they do one off items so they can sell very quickly.

It is a good shop and because stock turnover is high it is less boring than most shops. I don't find it too frustrating to sort for clothes as they are organised by size so you know quickly if anything suits.

Love it. It's like a clean charity shop! And they had Chanel nail polish in my local branch for £7.99 recently. Win!

I've bought loads of le crueset stuff and Samsonite suitcases, also good for bags, sunglasses and purses but I cannot be arsed with the clothes. DP got all his ski wear from there though, fantastic bargain

I’ve had some good bargains from there this year. A stripy Clements Ribeiro jumper was the best.

I also like looking through the homewares and toiletries. I’ve found some great bits, such as an Eve Lom face mask. Also, they often have This Works scented candles, which are beautiful.

I have to be in the mood, though.

I love Homesense too. I get all my cushions and throws from there - Moon fabric which retails for £££££ in other outlets.

You have to be in the right mood for TK Maxx and also have the time for browsing. Like others, I've had some visits with loads of great bargains and some where I've come out with nothing. It's next to a big Sainsbury's here so I pair it with the chore of food shopping!

My mum always finds good stuff- sportswear for my eldest DD and clothes for my youngest, home wear, tights, occasionally a scarf or jumper etc.

But whenever I go, I never find anything. I think you have to be patient and in shops, I am not.

Did anyone see the programme about them on channel 4 maybe last year. Most of the crap you buy in there is specially made for them in sweatshops. All those obscure brands are their own brands so it’s a giant scam

I love it.

But you need time, patience and a nose for a bargain. It’s not for everyone.

Also I far prefer shopping for homeware, toys, books, beauty than clothes. If it was just clothes I probably wouldn’t bother much.

Oh and chocolate. I love the cheap Prestat.

TKmaxx used to be so much better years ago, now too many of their own branded clothing, but you can find the odd jem.

Bags/purses are usually good, as are the shoes/boots but best to go as soon as the new season stock comes in as they sell out fast. Had some great boots over the years as well as branded summer shoes.

You can pick up some excellent luggage bargains, but again when the stock level is high.

Shame I can no longer find any Bahoma candles in the many TKmaxx I call into, but do like some of the other obscure brands (ie the Australian ones).

I even picked up a great pair of ankle boots (Salamander brand, get them in Germany/Austria) in Gdansk and a steal! In Poland again soon and there is another one local which I will be sure to pop into. Again in other Euro countries I try and call into TKmaxx as the stock varies so much, as do the prices.

The TJmaxx (the parent company in the States) has better brands to choose from, but just before Christmas one near me in the UK had loads of Coach bags around the £150 mark, on the Coach website for almost £600, not what I was looking for but great prices.

Its hit and miss lots of times and you need the time to look around love the homewear, and if I have time the reduced areas can throw up some excellent buys.

I don't go there for clothes but have had success with children's shoes, handbags and scarves for me, and their home wares are often nice. But the shopping experience is more jumble sale than department store. You get what you pay for.

Three warnings about Gold Label:

  1. Often the items have never been for sale and are made specifically for them. Check for mismatched seams and no linings.
  2. They often have fictional “original” prices, specifically having a diffusion line “originally” priced at £900 on sale for £200 but actually it’s the cheaper line originally £250.
  3. Always smart to google the brand’s website. Found some Sophia Webster shoes there that were only £5 cheaper than the shop’s sale price

Love Tkmaxx. I buy the jersey plus sized tunics for every day wear at £12.99 a pop. They wear and wash beautifully with no ironing.

I ventured out to town last week on a mission to buy a new lampshade. Had my route planned to include all department stores. Found exactly what I was looking for at first stop in TKMaxx for £11 so spent the rest of the time having a pub lunch.

I have a lot of their quirky ornaments - a gold flamingo wearing a crown anyone?

I've bought footwear, jumpers, socks and homewares there, and the occasional jacket. I tend to look for brands that I can't afford to buy otherwise - Jaeger, Paul Costello in particular, although having said that my favourite current items are a pair of puma trainers and a stripey sweater from Kew. Oh and a very plain black jacket from Bennetton, which I keep for interviews and similar. I've got a reasonably good branch near me and tend to go there first thing on Sunday before it gets too rammed - its the sort of thing I'll do every few months on a wet Sunday. In fact I might go this coming Sunday!

Homesense is TK Maxx home store, we have one locally and really worth looking at .
We have got some really good shoes for DD 22 but she has small feet and they have a much better range for size 3.5/4 In summer she got some really nice wrangler boots and limited edition vans

Our local one has awful customer service though. We bought dd a duffel coat a few years back with a zip, got it home and the zip was broken and coming unstitched , took it back next day and they laid coat on desk to say it worked , not sure how dd was supposed to do it up in that position, then said it couldnt be taken back because if had been worn and had a human hair on it! Had to spend 20 minutes arguing with them that the coat was not fit for purpose until they finally gave in.
